No tricks. Just weigh, measure, and log everything that you eat and drink, move more and stay with in your calorie allotment for the day. It really works.

Wow! You are buff! Very excellent job!

Spices, spices, spices. New Orleans is famous for spices. Stay away from processed foods, they all have added sodium and sugars.

You can make microwave popcorn in a plain brown bag, 1/4 cup kernels, fold over the top a couple of times. Microwave for a couple of minutes (2 minutes 30 seconds in mine). You can add toppings that you like. I use grated parmesan quite a bit, also like it with buffalo wing sauce sprinkled on. If you have extra calories…

Congratulations! Keep going, you are a gorgeous young woman with beautiful eyes! Much success to you!

@Microscopes, seriously? Midwesterner85 has diabetes, both type 1 & type 2. Do you? He has a very serious medical condition that requires monitoring. For people with no medical issues, there is absolutely no reason to eliminate carbs, nor should you. Every diet for weight loss is limiting calories, whether or not they come…

Perhaps............for some, depends on what you truly believe is working for you. When it comes right down to it though, it depends on the person and how strictly they are adhering to the program. In either case, it is CICO, whether or not you call it that. That is really true of any program. Tally up the calories you are…

LOL, well said! First time I smiled so far today. Thanks

Losing weight is 80% calorie deficit, 10% exercise, 10% genetic. You will not lose weight unless you eat less calories than you burn. Log everything you eat and drink and weigh and measure your food. Chances are good that you are eating more calories than you burn.

Ok in a pinch, but has added sugar & sodium. I make a large batch of steel cut oatmeal on Sundays and freeze it in individual portions. That way I can control what is put into it.

Another diet. Whatever works and is sustainable for each person. Unfortunately, a huge majority of people (over 80%) that lose weight, do not keep it off no matter how they lose the weight. Sustainability is key in being successful at keeping the weight off once you have reached goal IMHO.

^^This Penzey's taco seasoning sprinkled over chicken breasts in crock pot. Add a 12.5 oz can low sodium chicken broth. 1 can diced jalapeno peppers. Cook on low 5-6 hours. Shred chicken with two forks. Back in crock pot for 30-45 minutes. Use for tacos or salad topping. Boneless skinless chicken breasts. 1 package dry…

Have you tried making it yourself? It is quite easy and there are a lot of recipes on the internet. You have total control over what is, or is not added.

No reason not to eat before bed unless you have a medical reason not to. Your body is burning up calories 24/7, 365 days/year. That is a fact. As with all things related to losing or maintaining weight, find what works best for yourself and follow your program. What is right for and/or works for you, may be different for…

Drink and eat whatever you want within your calorie limit.

Could be. I am in a fitness challenge on Map My Walk. I go to the gym everyday and walk every day. Only my walk is calculated on Map My Walk, and I am in the top 5% of the people participating. A one hour walk daily? That really surprised me. I don't log my gym time on Map My Walk, so that is not even included.

64, 5'2-3/4". Maintenance a little over 2 years 1600 calories. 130#

Biggest thing that I get from my Charge HR is the motivation to move more, and trust me, for me, that is a very good thing. Totally sedentary 4 years ago, now I get over 20K daily.

Well, I am sure that there are plenty of us (depending on what you consider classic rock) baby boomers that love the late 60's and 70's era. It's the music we grew up with. I will love it till the day I die. I remember when The Who played 1/2 time at the Super Bowl a few years ago. People said they were getting too old to…

Everyone has life commitments that take time and most people are very serious about their responsibilities. I work full time, 10-12 hour days. 45 minute commute one way to work. Today, I have already been in the gym for 65 minutes, walked for an hour outside, and am at my desk and it isn't even 7 am yet. You do what you…

You burn calories 24/7. To roughly estimate, multiply body weight in pounds by 11. So yes, you probably burned that many calories just lying in bed.

One of the best posts on MFP that I have ever read. There is so much in your story that mirrors my own. 4 years on MFP. 160 pounds lost. Maintenance over 2 years. A struggle every day. My work biometric screening passed all bio markers for the first time this past fall. There is no room for complacency in this daily…

There is a choice on the screen for logging water left of the food icon. On your pc at the bottom of the screen that you log food on there is place you keep track of water consumed.

I add them to my yogurt, sprinkle on salads.

^^Minnesotan, right? Cub, Target and Sam's. A HyVee is opening by work soon and I will probably stop by when it does. Buy a lot of meat @ Von Hanson's

Been at this for 4 years, a little over 2 years on maintenance. I have never really gotten used to it, so never really gotten over the hump. However, being a normal weight and wearing normal sizes, is way better than being morbidly obese, so I accept it and eat a little something every couple of hours. I have to say…

10,000 steps is a general figure for 5 miles. However, I have had a fit bit for over 3 years, have a short stride, and take a little over 12,000 steps for 5 miles.

^^this is general too. There are other factors. Gender, age, activity level, genetics, health issues. I lost on 1200. I lost over 1/2 of my current body weight and have been maintaining for over 2 years on 1600 calories. Anything more than 1600 and I begin to gain. General guidelines are just that, general. As with most…
