  • Boneless roasted leg of lamb, new potatoes, fresh asparagus, fresh strawberry pie.
  • Calorie deficit=weight loss You could do cardio 5 hours a day, but unless you eat less calories than you burn, you will not lose weight, and if you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain weight.
  • ^True words - different for everyone, gender, weight, height, age, activity level Maintaining at 1600 calories. I am fairly short too, 5' 2-3/4", old (64), and lost weight at 1200. Anything above 1600 and I begin gaining. I have been on maintenance over 2 years, so it is pretty much where I have to be. Everyone is…
  • It is certainly a workout, carrying a 30# baby 5 miles. When we go hiking, we have a dog carrier for our 5# Maltese (she can not keep up with us). Those 5 pounds can become heavy on some of the steep, rocky trails.
  • Evolution of the human species. Readily available food and less movement.
  • Everyone burns calories just being alive, so any activity will add burned calories to overall calories burned daily. It is the overconsumption of calories burned that causes weight gain.
  • As another poster said, it is giving you the total calories burned for the day. You burn calories being alive, and that is what it is telling you. I have had a fit bit for 3 years. First a One, then the Force, now the Charge HR. I love having a fit bit. It is the best motivator to get me moving more. I struggled at first…
  • Every day, at least once, the sugar post comes up. Sugar is not bad. Everything is bad if you eat or drink too many calories. All things in moderation. Retrain yourself to eat within your calorie budget, while losing and maintaining. You have to be able to do this in order to sustain the weight loss. Why not develop the…
  • I have always kind of wondered about this statement (I have lost 160# and been maintaining for over 2 years). The average human body is 50-60% water. Doesn't it stand to reason, that 50-60% of weight loss is water then? Just wondering. OP there are a lot of factors that enter into weight loss. Could be sodium consumption,…
  • Air popped pop corn. I know it is not the same as having it drowning in butter and salt, but I have grown to like it with grated parmesan on it. Not a lot of calories, and it takes a while to eat it. Often times, I will just go to bed too. I fall asleep very quickly so it works for me and keeps me from excess calories.
  • 20 months 160#. No gimmicks, surgery or pills either. Moderation in all foods and staying within calorie budget. Log everything I eat and drink. No cheat days, but holidays I tried a little of everything and logged it. Lost 100# before I began to even walk more. Have had a fit bit for 3 years. I get at least 20K everyday.…
  • 7 days. I am on a streak. I've been to the gym every day since 2/2/15. Plus I walk most days.
  • It is genetic, if you don't have it, you won't get it through diet & exercise.
  • I am 5'2-3/4". Maintaining at 130. My body decided for me. I got down to 125, but I really struggled. Been @/or around 130 for over 2 years. I too still see myself as a morbidly obese woman. I wonder what people think I am trying to do when I buy size 8. I guess it is mind set. I can not seem to move past that image.…
  • Congratulations! A fantastic accomplishment! Way to go!
  • Tried quite a few flavors at first. Didn't care for any of them except the white chocolate raspberry, which I like a lot. So I always have a box of white chocolate raspberry on hand.
  • I have been a fit bit user for over 3 years now. First a One, then the Force, now the Charge HR. Love them all! I did look at the Surge, but, not for too long after they announced the Blaze coming out. I can't justify spending the money for the Surge, but I did ask for the Blaze for my birthday in September.

  • Anything is ok if you are within your calories. Enjoy it all! Nothing to feel guilty about. Awesome to eat food we enjoy, that is one of the finer things about life.
  • Wow, amazing! Congratulations.
  • Now - hike for hours Before - out of breath walking up a flight of stairs. Now -wear normal sized clothes (8) Before - tight size 24 W
  • I have never seen this in America, but we have sparkling ice. Flavored water, zero calories, lots of flavors.
  • Me too. Definitely not worth the calories
  • I had kind of the opposite problem. Co-worker is 5'8" I am 5'2-3/4". My stride is way shorter, and I have shorter legs, but co-worker has a really bad knee. Luckily, we have a busy season at work and I told her I was coming in earlier so I could walk before we started work and did not want to take time during the day…
  • If it is a priority in your life, you will find the time. Get up earlier, stay up later, whatever you can work into your day. I get up very early (I am usually the first one at the gym), because I know that I will find an excuse not to do it at the end of the day.
  • I know, right? I remember that Beatles song too, never thought I'd get old. It still surprises me when I look in the mirror, LOL. I am 64 too (65 in September). I'm not retired yet, hope to be 12/31/16 though. I have been on MFP for 4 years (yesterday was my 4 year anniversary) and on maintenance for a little over 2 years.…
  • Congratulations! You look great, and younger! Well done!
  • You can definitely see the difference. Nice work!
  • Weight loss is 80% eating less calories than you burn. If you use insanity, and eat less calories than you burn, yes it will help weight loss. But, if you use insanity (or any other exercise) and eat more calories than you burn, you will most likely gain weight. Depending on the information, some say 80% calorie deficit,…
