  • silly question - what does SBF stand for?
  • i hate pushups - so count me in!!!! so far today, i met my quota (the shred it dvd incororates them in level 1) 2 sets of 24 done - from my knees. i certainly cannot do those from my toes yet. to anyone out there that hates them like me and thinks they are hard, try using an exercise ball to support your lower body - or…
  • today was day 1 of the Shred It dvd - and i admit, it was skeptical that level one would be hard... but, after reading a couple posts about it, i decided to stick with level 1. after all, i can always move up tomorrow. i decided to get 5 pound and 8 pound weights. i have been lifting for over 4 weeks consistently, and used…

  • i completely agree with the rescue dog vs a breeder. there are so many dogs (and cats) that need a good home. and you can find both puppies and older dogs at rescue organizations. try www.petfinder.com. enter in your area code or the region you are willing to search in and all of the specifications (like breed/age/etc.).…

  • if you want to make their owner actually resolve the problem - call animal control too. if the dog has a microchip, they can easily find the owners. and if there is a license they should be able to tie that to the owner. also, if you do the flyers, you can then just tellt he owner the dog is with animal control. animal…
  • thanks everyone!!! i really appreciate all of the suggestions! i just got the shred 30 day dvd - it says you can lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days. sounds crazy to me - but i assume that means you need to follow her 30 day diet, too. i'm a horrible dieter when i am told what to eat. that's why this site works so well. i can…
  • by the way - i do go on a daily dog walk for about 1 mile every morning. but i never count that as exercise....it's not a fast pace or anything...just dog walk/sniffing pace
  • I'd like to get back into a routine of daily exercising before i go to work in the morning. i typically have anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes. i'd like to lift 3 days a week. any suggestions on what else to do the other 4 days of the week? i ordered the Jillian micheals Shred it vidoe - it should be ehre…

  • wow!!! that sounds like a wonderful vacation!!! i am part greek, and my dad still has family over there near Rhodes. in fact, my grandparents came over from greece and had a farm over there. they have split the land between my brother, sister and me. my dad has been back but the three of us have never been. hoping to go…

  • You took the words right out of my mouth!!!!!!!! My favorite is when the trash is overflowing - literally. you need to smoosh it down furter to throw anything else in, and then it all pops back up and out of the garbage. After my husband just does the smoosh thing, i'll say "Can you take the garbage out while I finish the…
  • wow -just when you think it is just your husband that doesn't help out! i will admit my husband does all the outside stuff (except weeding flower beds). so i never have to mow the lawn or shovel snow....BUT...we may get snow 2 times in the winter and you only mow the lawn 6 months out of the year. housework, like cleaning…
  • sorry - need to clarify. with vpi, if the dog is older and has had issues int he past - they are considered pre-existing conditions and will not be copvered. youget the best coverage if you get the policy when you get the dog....so nothing is pre-existing!

  • we are all about pet insurance for our dog. she's a 4 year old lab. we have vpi pet insurance. www.petinsurance.com for us, it is $400 a year and covers tons - we usually go to the vet 3 or 4 times a year, and always seem to have some sort of extra tests done (urinalysis, xrays, blood work, etc.) not to mention medication.…
  • our's was Stevie Wonder's "You are the Sunshine of My Life" We took dance lessons where at the end, our teacher coreographed our wedding dance. since my husband can't dance slow, we had to have a "faster" song that had bursts to keep him up with it! In the end we were horrible (we NEVER practiced) but we had a balst - and…
  • National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! I know every line in it by heart and can watch it, regardless of the season!!!!! I LOVE that movie!!!!!!
  • progresso soup... my husband has softball tonight, so i'm solo for dinner. when that happens, i usually eat something easy - like soup!
  • o.k. here's my plan for the week: dog walk every morning - 1 mile (that's standard) 3 days - lifting weights 3 days cardio (treadmill or my bike if it is not too hot outside) one day rest, or maybe a long walk with the dog! on the weekend as for eating, sticking to my calories. once i master the calories, i'll start…
  • lifting weights is the best for me! i really respond to weights much faster than to cardio!
  • i was voted for nothing. in high school, i was busy studying, getting good grades for college. my parents were divorced, so my outisde time was spent helping around the house or working at my part time job. i did play soccer, but never had time for the soccer parties or anything. one of my favorite movie quotes is from…
  • ditto goes for me - drop me a line any time! it is amazing how stress can take a toll on your body (both weight and physical/mental). I agree with celeste15 - a little exercise should help you out. Even if it is a little. you'll decrease stress and it will help you sleep better at night (maybe passing on the night…
  • is it too late yo join you all in the 10lb challenge? i would love to lose 10 pounds by September, if not sooner. Have a wedding in early october (i'm a bridesmaid) and would love to lose weight (with time to have the dress altered). right now it is a perfect fit, but i'd love to be thin and in shape!!!! So, starting…
  • you can broil it alot faster - 10 minutes per side. but i'm not sure if you can broil it with the tomatoes and stuff on it - no idea how you'd "flip it". so i bake it. you can just keep an eye on it if you think it will be done faster. it all depends on the thickness of the fish you bought, too. good luck - we love this…
  • and one of its best qualities is it is not a fishy fish
  • my husband and i have been married now for 4 years and we have 1 dog. she's our baby! i too joined this to get back in shape. i lost weight for our wedding (24 pounds) and then gained it back. i had a hard time going to the gym when we had a puppy - so the weight came on, and then i got used to not getting up at the crack…
