Seemed like a great resource, but I kinda have some doubts concerning the accuracy of the information provided due to the part talking about starvation mode: ''Instead of 2-3 meals, eat 3 smaller meals with snacks between. Your body will be less likely to go into “starvation mode” if you are eating small amounts throughout…

@rainbowbow THIS! I always buy chips and cookies for my family, but I'm starting to rethink this... If I can't control myself and so can't they, I shouldn't be bringing those things home in the first place. Not good for me, not good for them. @nagdha I have figured out for myself that there are a multitude of things I…

@JeromeBarry1 I don't understand how that is rudeness or mockery? Well... I wouldn't mind if my husband started working out (actually I'd be really proud of him) but I do love my husband as he is and to me he is the most attractive man I know. He was skinnier when I met him but I do prefer him now with ''something more''.…

I would say that it's time for you to address the REAL problems. When you overeat, it's easy for people to say just eat less... But you have to figure out yourself the reasons WHY you do this even when you know it goes against what you really want. Only then you will be able to gain real control. Otherwise I think that…

I seem not to be able to shed down any weight neither, I am EBF my 4 months old and he's gaining weight at a good rate so far. HW was 201lbs and now I'm stuck at 185lbs... and it's fine. I guess my body is comfortable there for now. I will concentrate on getting into a healthy eating routine and take it one day at a time.

I think that seems really balanced. Maybe not to the clean eating police, but myself I see you go the extra mile by selecting and cooking/baking most of your food, which is great since that puts you in control of what you eat. I don't see anything wrong with enjoying your favorite foods once in a while, especially making…

I am back and trying to eat more now! I started with 1700cals, and then figured out I should up it to 2200cals. Now I'm kinda in the middle at 2000cals! But I listen to my body and what matters most is my milk supply. My baby is almost 4 months and is gaining weight at a great pace still. How are you doing?

Well that's just your opinion. She's just goofy and she's always that way. I personally think she's pretty real and down to earth. It really does cause a shock to your body when you cut out carbs for a while to then go back to it, anything that you do in such a drastic way to get drastic results must result in drastic…

Used to do LCHF a couple years ago and now I'm back at it the healthy way just like you. I want to find a balanced healthy way of losing weight. I have 40-50lbs to lose! Adding you!! :)

The reason why you got sick at that point was maybe because you lowered your calories too much and so your immune system got weak. Also, the reason why you don't see the scale moving much when working out might be because you tear down your muscle and then while it repairs itself it retains water. Once your muscles are…

I tried LCHF (20g of net carbs a day) and really liked it at first. I lost 35lbs in 2 months (had about 60lbs to lose) and felt on top of the world, but at that half-way point through my weight loss I wanted to start being more active and found that I couldn't sustain such low carbs (you need energy to fuel your workouts);…

In my experience, when you are on a tight budget frozen food helps a lot! It's hard to get fresh fruits and veggies each week, so I like to go to Walmart and get the biggest no name brand bags of frozen fruits and veggies I can find. The price for the quantity is great and it will last throughout the month too. Think about…

Maybe you're not eating enough? I am EBF my 4mo baby boy and I will be shooting for my target calories for 1lbs/week loss and logging my BF calories by logging it as exercise (500cals burned/day), which give me 2230cals. I will try this and keep you updated :) Good luck oxox

You should tell your boyfriend that he should gain some weight if he wants to look anything like a man... Let's see how that makes him feel! Seriously though... You're far from fat at the weight you are. My husband is beside me and can't believe that he said something like that. He said if he knew him he'd punch him in the…

When I used to have a medium double double with cream at Tim Horton's, it would be 210cals if I remember correctly. Now I simply make myself a coffee with my Tassimo machine and it amounts to only 50 cals (Great Canadian T-disc is 2cals, 2 tbsp 2% milk is 18 cals and 2 tsp sugar is 30cals - gotta have my sugar since I…

It helps when you figure out WHY you want to quit drinking coffee. Here's 10 reasons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_T2B3oNfy8 Also, for me I switched to green tea at first, since I didnt really liked tea and I knew it promotes weight loss as well as helping reach my water intake. After a while I started taking a liking…

Harvest Snaps Snapeas ♥ they're half the calories chips are (1 crisp is 5cals compared to most chips, which are 10cals) and I find them incredibly satisfying; a nice treat! One portion is 110cals and the whole bag (which I is more than I want to eat in one sitting) is about 3 portions. Also, I love the Smartfood Delight…

You make me sooooo hungry. Arghhh. Sounds delicious, this is the way I want to eat lol!

I love to make myself a pancake with 1 egg and half a banana fried in the pan with coconut oil. I top it off with 1 tbsp peanut butter and here's the stats: 265cals, 11g of protein, 19g of carbs and 16g of fat. But most importantly, the texture is AMAZING and it tastes GREAT!! ♥ Otherwise, I eat most of the time eggs with…

I love watching those fitness girls vlogging on YouTube, it gets me so motivated! Like Heidi Somers, or Amanda Bucci. I think watching different workout videos on YouTube helps a lot at first. I think you have to figure out a goal and then, the WHY. If you don't know why you're doing it, you won't be motivated. And then,…

I eat about 1400-1600cals as I am breastfeeding my 1mo and I weight 183lbs. I wonder about the calories too but then, I do know that I'm eating way more healthier then when I ate more calories (and drinking enough water too), so I'm thinking how my milk couldn't be better then it was, even at lower calories? I eat meats,…

Check out Brenda Leigh Turnerfrom Lean Secrets on YouTube, she just put up a couple videos about her experience with that and how she healed herself. Good luck ox

My baby boy is 4 days old and I'm want to lose about 60lbs. :)

Thanks for the precision! I did select sedentary since I work a desk job and log my workouts separately since they vary in frequency and intensity. That would be important for me to mention next time, I wouldn't want to confuse anyone. Anyway, my point was... I'd rather see the NEAT as my calorie goal because then the…

Well, I obviously exercise for all of these other reasons... but it would still be counterproductive to me, even almost building an unhealthy relationship toward food (for me at least) to workout with the goal of increasing my food intake...
-
Well I guess that's true! I didn't see it like that. I did select sedentary since I work a desk job and log my workouts separately since they vary in frequency and intensity. That would be important for me to mention next time!

Your TDEE doesn't include your workouts... it includes your level of daily activities. For example, are you doing a desk job or do you work standing up and moving all day long. Your BMR is what your body needs just to function (breathing, digesting, etc).
-
Well, I would not eat my calories back since I think it defeats the purpose of using exercise as a tool to increase caloric deficit - but who am I to dictate this approach to everyone? I would still advise eating half rather then eating back all of them, just in case that there would be an overestimation... let's not…

I am 37 weeks and close to give birth, came back on here to make some new friends and get my motivation in check! I have gained 45lbs and would like to lose another 20lbs more to reach the weight I was before my first pregnancy (this is my second). I would love to join you :)

I've had high risk pregnancies, and I'm not taking walks as per my doctors request! I really crave going for a walk!
