  • "personal period" stuff has a lot to do with weight loss. Many obese women stop getting their periods and can't have children until they lose the weight. Anyone who is squeamish needs to get over themselves and understand that it's a part of life, every woman's life. In your case, OP, I agree that you should seek medical…
  • One thing that might help is to remove the junk from your house so that you aren't tempted. My son, daughter and sig other all like junk food and unhealthy meals (that part is my fault because I cooked a lot with gravies, sauces, etc.). What I've been doing is trying to change the unhealthy meals to similar meals that are…
  • You're awesome!!!!!! I am so inspired by you :flowerforyou:
  • I can relate on so many levels. thanks for sharing your story. Friend me :flowerforyou:
  • Fantastic! WTG! Keep on keepin' on :flowerforyou:
  • I think losing 100 lbs in a year is doable. That's what my game plan is for myself. That's about 2 lbs per week. If you have a lot to lose, you will likely lose more lbs than that per week right at first but then fewer as you get closer to your weight goal. I am a Type 2 Diabetic so I don't know if the ways to manage Type…
  • Congratulations! You are a true inspiration to me! :flowerforyou:
  • my buddy uses almond milk in his coffee, you could use sweetened vanilla almond or something if you wanted to. he was using sweetener but i talked him out of it and now he just uses 1 tsp of sugar. stevia is also a good option but some brands can be an acquired taste. hope this helps.
  • anyone who wants to add me as a friend feel free. i'm new but i've been logging daily for over a month, lost 13 lbs in about 3 1/2 weeks. i have over 100 lbs to lose. i have one buddy who messages me daily and it's great to get to know a person personally as well as share the weight loss journey, recipes, food ideas, etc.…
  • Don't forget MFP also takes how many lbs per week you say you want to lose in consideration when calculating your deficit. 1200 is okay for a small woman.
  • Fantastic! Amazing job! You inspire me. :flowerforyou:
  • thank-you SO much for posting this! it brought tears to my eyes especially all of the outpouring of support and wonderful comments in response to it here in the community. when i grow up i want to be you. WAY TO GO!! :drinker: :flowerforyou:
  • I realise that I haven't lost a lot of weight and only recently started on MFP, however, I *have* done a lot of reading/studying and listening/viewing to anecdotal evidence. Your calories are what will change the scale. Your exercise, specifically resistance training/weight training will prevent you from losing all of your…
  • If you are hypoglycemic one of the best foods for you is beans, ie. chick peas and black beans and all of those kinds. They are slow digesting carbs that help keep blood sugar stable. I don't even understand where your mom could be coming from? That doesn't even sound like any old wives tales from the past. Who is feeding…
  • For what it's worth, my daughter is 17 now and my son is 21 (which is likely irrelevant) I have been adding protein powder to their breakfast smoothies for at least 2 years now. It didn't occur to me that it could be unsafe to do so. There is also no warning on the protein powder against giving it to children. There is…
  • I'm new too and have an open diary to friends. Please do add me, any of you. Today is a terrible day to share my diary though. I completely went off the rails. I record honestly whether I have a bad day or not. :flowerforyou:
  • I could be wrong but I think the Fit Bit One has a wrist strap that is just for sleep.... anyone know?
  • thanks for all of the responses so far!
  • I too would not want to live on a liquid only diet indefinitely. I'm not even sure that I would do so for a month or two as some people have chosen to do. I like food too much. I also wouldn't go on any extended fast without adding in a protein shake. But that's just me. i definitely would and do add juices and smoothies…
  • Parsley is strong but really good for us. Just use the equivalent of about 1/4 of the size of a bunch you'd buy in the store to start to try it out. :flowerforyou:
  • I also associate canker sores and other mouth sores with having too much acid in the diet. Were you juicing mostly fruits instead of veggies?
  • Don't try to juice avocado! lol. Put it in your smoothies though, makes them very creamy. :-)
  • Cooked tomatoes = lycopene I believe that veggies in the brassica family are also better for you steamed or cooked, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage
  • Has anyone who is criticizing juicing here actually TRIED doing it for more than a day? If you do the research for and against and also enjoy the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and/or watch any of Joe's followup interviews on news stations, etc...AND/or read the advice on his website from nutritionists and…
