That is awesome...... It is so sad that many hide away because of shame or worrying about the perceptions/judgments of others....I know I was one of them. The day I threw away those worries and had a "I don't give a *kitten*" what others think.....I'm sick of being this big and I want to get out, get some exercise and…

Don't lose hope....taking regular medicines particularly ones in the category of which you speak do make weight loss a bit more difficult and slower.....but you WILL get there. You may just have to engage the extra patience mode....there are many people on here who have been very successful at losing weight and maintaining…

I too have had mine out many years ago - apart from initially finding there were a few foods that caused pain/nausea - which for me oranges, high fat content foods however it was temporary and now I find I don't have restrict anything, that said though everyone is different it will help for you do conduct your own…

Op - don't lose heart.....letting your skin catch up with the weight loss can make a lot of difference to the end look of your skin. I have seen other threads mentioning giving it at least 2 years at goal before you see the final outcome of how your skin will look - so patience is required. Another bonus is we never run…

If only it were that simple..... Yes sleep is VERY important but to say that sleep in and of itself will 'cure' sugar cravings is not true. If the research is credible then you have solved one of the World's greatest challenges - not to overeat in times of stress.....and yes having a tiny baby to look after is stressful.…

^^^^ So much yes to both above replies. Feeling tired has and does cause a definite spike in my 'desire' for sugary foods but it does also cause a quick up feeling and then an even quicker down back straight into the same old tired state....but it isn't an addiction. Breastfeeding, recovery; as well as looking after a…

Owlhouse has made some pertinent points JAT74...... There are areas in which you could revisit your logging and tighten it up a bit....being a veteran at logging can mask errors in that have crept in over time. It's no one's fault but you are human as we all are and we can become complacent. Maybe it IS time for you to…
-
^^^ +1 I also note that you are using entries that are more descriptive than a specific number of grams ie. salmon - 1 fillet, avocado - small......this may be a problem in the future as you get closer to goal. The best investment you will make is a set of food scales and to always use them. Rather than looking for a…

Sadly, I think that the concept of water creating weight loss/fat reduction totally on it's own would be heavily in the "Woo-woo" category of myths surrounding diet. ( Props to NJD1979 for the woo.) B) Where it can help is in mistaking the thirst signals for hunger.... if you think this is happening for you then before…

So inspiring..... <3 You Sir have risen above so many obstacles and totally owned them. Well done.... There are many people on the forums who do not struggle with such obstacles yet they are totally overwhelmed, whingey and give up, bleating about how tough their lives are. Seeing inspiring individuals such as yourself…

And for that I thank everyone who has taken the time to impart their wisdom. .....Adding that "mean" members aren't actually that way at all - They are just crusty and tired from repeating themselves over and over, trying to help others step away from the misconceptions like mine and others mentioned in this thread.…

I learned "mean" people give the best information, words that one can actually live by and succeed with. Before that I 'believed' that 1200 cal was all I could ever eat, strength training was not that important (boy was I wrong there), weight loss is linear and evenly predictable over the weeks ie. MFP's weight prediction…

Skim milk in coffee. Stopped having sugar in it as well. Have introduced herbal teas and also hot/cold lemon waters. Started making our homemade greek yogurt to enjoy rather than icecream everyday. Still have icecream but go for artisan/higher quality ones. Dry roasting veggies with a spray of oil, rather than shallow fry.…

Firstly, I am really so to read about the pressure you are getting from your parents....my own Mother had incredibly unrealistic expectations, along with ignorance and all wrapped up in a vicious tongue. That negativity is not needed and is incredibly damaging. Do whatever you can to protect yourself. - ignore, get as much…

Dear Lord that is such a difference and I would be proud of myself too. Well done honey, sorry that you can't fix your skirt but maybe you could get a tailor/dressmaker to have a look at how the skirt could be used/changed in other ways. Beautiful gown by the way and your Dad looks very dapper in his dress uniform.

Wow congrats on such wonderful success. Psych101 has pretty much nailed what I would suggest - keep on changing and exploring ALL the foods and activities that hold your interest, it may be returning to an sport that you used to enjoy or a completely new one that you have always wanted to try and have held back from trying…

Aw those clothes and esp. your top look really cool on you. Well done on your loss and best wishes. Wear that with confidence.

Oh my....... OP like Ninkyou said the site is really just a tool to help you track and be successful. Don't look at the tracking other than a very useful tool at that and one that makes weight loss sooo much easier (far better than guessing or the tediousness of having a booklet and writing everything down, like the old…

You are so beautiful. Congratulations on such an amazing transformation and your hard work and dedication really shows. Your hair looks fabulous!!!! I think you look much younger comparing the difference in the photos....now that is a wonderful side benefit of weight loss = reverse aging.
-
I think you are handling the attention really well, with your genuine response of "Thank you"..... I do understand the feelings of awkwardness too though.....after spending so many years trying to hide my weight and shape to come out from under the 'rock' so to speak and have others notice can be so unusual that you find…

You look amazing and congratulations on having such success as your hard work really shows.
-
That is a significant loss and as others have said weight loss is not linear and if you take too much stock in predicted weights or are looking for the "quick fix" then in all honesty you are doing yourself a disservice. Weight loss that is better taken slow - Slow will give your skin the best chance to acclimatize and…

Lovely......congrats on your hard work.

Interesting question..... For me what I noticed was the difference in treatment/attitude others had towards me when I was fat as opposed to slim. Somehow or other I am now deserving of more positive attention ie smiles, positive sales service when clothes shopping, the odd admiring glance especially if I have "dressed…

Hi there, My name is Karen, I am 52 and been diagnosed with Lupus about 2 years ago. I also suffer with another illness called central sensitization after a fall in 1997, so I have lived with a lot of pain and disability since I was 35. Lupus has thrown me in a spin......I had all the markers for it (including positive…

What an inspiration you certainly have proved them wrong. You have made some wonderful changes and weight loss is difficult under 'normal' circumstances but for those of us with chronic illnesses it does present us with some unique challenges....You have certainly risen to those challenges and been so successful,…

Wow you look fabulous.....and your gorgeous smile says it all. Well done.

You look amazing.....and yes you certainly DO look younger and happier too.

It is probably better to not take a chance with an 'off' supplement. Even if it is still within its expiry date there may have been issues during transport etc that you are not aware of that have contributed to its early 'death' (for want of a better word. Take it back to the Pharmacy/Store where you got it and explain…

^^ All of what DearestWinter has said is valuable and helpful but if you are struggling to the point of full blown panic attacks maybe it is time to consult your Doctor and confide in them. Be clear and don't be afraid to tell them everything......relying on extra tranquilizers is only a short term band-aid help and may…
