Yesterday started as an NSF ( non scale fail), but I turned it into an NSV. We had catered lunch at work yesterday and I ended up eating TWO Panera sandwiches, a bag of chips and 1/2 a cookie. This put me almost 1000 calories over my target for the day. I felt sick and angry at myself for losing control in the face of…

I've been using one for the past year and really love it. It took awhile to learn its peculiarities ( how to get it to consistently sync with MFP), but it's working perfectly now. I wear it attached to my belt, so I'm not using the watch strap. It still has a tendency to pop out of the rubber clip in your belt, an issue…

I was using Withings and it worked great until I had to change the batteries. It never woke up after- never took a reading again. Lots of other people online report the same problem, not sure what the issue is. Before that I loved it but it's a paperweight now.

My success has been 90% due to tracking calories on MFP. That being said, I do own a Precor treadmill and love it. No more excuses that it's too hot, cold, humid, dark, rainy, snowy or that I'm embarrassed to exercise around others. I have had great success increasing my cardio fitness on it, especially after losing 45…

Courgette is British for zucchini. :) Zoats is a combination of zucchini and oats. But if you're British shouldn't that be "coats"?

I know exactly how you feel. I've had people yell rude things at me when I was heavier and jogging. I've had people throw things at me. It's mortifying and has always stuck with me. My main worry, though, was people that I knew (co-workers) seeing me exercise. My solution was to exercise somewhere far away from where…

When I was having the same problem I did like funjen1972-no underwear, only compression shorts under the running shorts. Worked great. This stopped being an issue after losing some weight and now I can wear anything.

I've read a few of his books, so excuse me if I include tips from multiple books. . These have really helped me be aware of my appetite triggers and eating habits. You tend to eat more if: 1. You eat from large plates and bowls. Your body can't easily tell how much food you've eaten, so you tend to use visual cues. The…

Love it! I use it every time I run. Unfortunately I had to turn off the periodic zombie chases (that respond to your speed), since it didn't seem to sense when I sped up. My loot kept getting grabbed by the zombs . Maybe a problem due to running on a treadmill? Those chases were scary and motivating. If you can't get your…

I have the same problem. I think that I've gotten into a habit of eating right when I get home. I won't be hungry leaving from work, but my stomach is growling as soon as I drive up to the house. The entry leads directly into the kitchen, so I'm primed to think of food right away. My main strategy is to try and break the…

MFP Withings O2 Pulse and scale Treadmill Zombies, Run! app I have a food scale but don't use it as much as I should

Excuses I've made: - I was in a relationship then got married, leading to more eating and eating out - Various sports injuries stopping me from exercising. Severe plantar fasciitis in both feet, so I could barely walk let alone exercise. 2 years at its worst, 10 years (!) to heal completely - Moving up north where it's…

Hi all I've been on MFP since summer 2014. 47 years old, 5'6" SW: 202 CW: 158 GW: 140, maybe 130 ultimately Weight loss was going smoothly until I got close to a healthy BMI (which is 154 for my height). Now it's slowed way down and I'm really struggling. Partly because it's harder to lose the closer you get to goal,…

Oh God - I got hooked on paczki's when I lived in Michigan Some years ago. I could never figure out how to pronounce them, so I just called them "Paunchies", since that's what you look like after eating them. Jelly donuts on steroids, yum!! I've since moved to North Carolina but a dear friend ships a box to me every…

I do both WW and MFP. I find that WW points and their informational tools ("cheat sheets") help me navigate decisions about food choices. They favor eating things that are filling, with low glycemic index, things that are not captured strictly by calorie counting. They encourage participants to eat more fruits and…
