Just try cutting out gluten for 2 week and see how you feel. There are plenty of gluten free bread, hot rolls, etc out there. I was never officially tested by my body reacts much like yours when gluten gets into my diet. Can hurt to try it.

Although I was eating healthy food I realized when I started logging that I was eating WAY too much of it. It was scary to find out just how many calories were in the serving sizes I was eating.

Was just eating my morning snack of popcorn, I looked down to brush some crumbs of my pants and I didn't recognize my thighs, they looked skinny!:drinker:

Never officially diagnosed but feel a TON better when it is out of my diet. For me ( and everyone's body is different) , if gluten finds its way into my diet , or I just choose to eat something containing it, I will "puff" up and the weight will not come off or will not come off as quickly. When I first cut the gluten out…

Can only speak to my personal experience. I've done a lot of weight training without maintaining a calorie deficit and didn't lose any weight, I just ended up with nicely defined muscle under all my fat. I have done a lot of cardio without a calorie deficit and managed to lose a little. Maintained a calorie deficit for the…

My local health food stores sell gluten free bread, which I mainly use to make toast in the morning. Explore Asia makes a few good gluten-free organic pastas. And yes, watch any kind of take out Asian food and store made sauces, most contain gluten unless specifically labeled gluten free.

Sorry, I just noticed, does your nut allergy apply to coconuts?

Anything with coconut oil. I put a teaspoon in my brewed coffee and mix it with my Magic Bullet ( or you could use a blender) It makes a nice foam on top like a cappuccino or latte and I like the flavor, to me it is slightly sweet so I put less sugar in my coffee.

Funny, I was going to post about a similar issue. I am afraid to buy new clothes because I am afraid to see bulges and popping buttons. I am OK buying new tops but am still afraid to buy new pants. My current wardrobe is lose and that makes me feel like I have made progress. I guess its just a matter of getting over the…

Hang in there and keep up your good habits ( calorie deficit and exercise)! These habits made your weight loss possible and hopefully you will get your medication adjusted and be back on track.

Hang in there! When the scale isn't moving for me I try to set another short term goal, like 10 extra minutes on the treadmill. At least I feel like I am doing something even though the scale isn't showing it yet. My loss was slow in the beginning too.

Hate mushrooms, cauliflower, and spinach raw, but love it all cook, ideally pared with some sort of cheese

My fats are over almost everyday, mostly from olive and coconut oil, but I also am losing weight at a healthy rate, so I just ignore it.

So, if a person is 50 lbs over weigh because of eating too much of foods that are considered " clean" ( as in my case, never really ate junk or processed foods, fast foods, etc just serving sizes too big of what I was eating) vs. being 50 lbs overweight from eating too much " unclean" food is the risk of health problems…

Everyone's body is different, I used to drink a lot of it and cut back, but I do notice that when I do drink a diet soda I will feel "puffy" the next day. Not sure if it is the artificial sweetener or some of the other preservatives.

Awesome and congrats! ( and someone should start a thread spelling out all the MFP acronyms). Similar story: I bought a pair of pants a few months ago that I couldn't get zipped up, and my goal was just to get to a point where I could get them zipped. Not only do I fit into these pants, they are starting too get to big. I…

Use it in my coffee: I add 1 teaspoon onto my brewed coffee and blend it in my Magic Bullet for 20-30 seconds, makes a nice foam on top like a cappuccino

Eating disorders are sad, I agree. When I started on this site I didn't pick up on anything that seemed to "promote" me to eat anything less than the what I entered a my daily calorie allowance. Agreed, someone could use the site for that, but I don't see how this is "promoted".

So your solution to how certain individuals us MFP would be??? Sure it can be misused, by an individual who would misuse it. I am not seeing the point. Should MFP shut down despite the thousands it does help with these tools? If you don't like the way it works then you are free to use something else.:indifferent:

I have to go out and buy new shirts this weekend, my XL's are too big. Also, I walked by every treat ( cookie, donut) left in the lunch room at work and didn't even care.

Get a new doctor! I am 5ft 5in and used to weight 206lbs. My blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and all other lab tests were within normal range even though,, according to my BMI, I was obese. My doctor never said a word to me about losing weight and really doesn't make any mention of my weight lose now.

I didn't miss gluten containing products after awhile because I felt much better ( more energy, less bloat) without them. I am afraid to eat anything with gluten because I know how bad it will make me feel.
