And it is a sweet blog, I must say.

I've read You Are Your Own Gym too. Good stuff. I'm currently doing the Convict Conditioning program. Love that I don't have to waste time and money on a gym!

I have always hated aerobics of any form. So boring. I do all strength training. In any case, muscle looks better than fat, and more muscle burns more fat, so win/win!

What did you set your daily activity to? Most people set it to sedentary, eat at a deficit and then log their workouts. In this case, you should always eat exercise cals back. Otherwise you are starving your body. If you are having a hard time eating enough, choose more calorie-dense foods.

EAT THEM BACK.

I found it easier to give up bread than bacon and full-fat cheese. In the sticking-with-it sense, that makes a low-carb diet better for my weight loss goals.

I've been doing low-carb(ish) for a year now. Have done South Beach, now on a system of my own: Eat low-carb during the week and then go crazy on day a week - eat anything I want and as much as I want. Seems to be working! Feel free to add, I have lots of recipes and low-carb alternatives.

To look good nekkid.

I don't think there's a flaw in the MFP system, I think there's a flaw in the way people think about their bodies. And if people continue to eat/live that way, they will die out, leaving the smarter, healtheir, eatinger segment of the population to thrive.

Try CardioTrainer. It's free, and will tell you at intervals how fast you're going or how far you've gone. There's an add-on (paid) that does intervals. Not sure it's exactly what you're looking for, but it's what I use and sounds close... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wsl.CardioTrainer&hl=en

Feel free to add me as well.

I don't think it sounds like she wants to be with another guy, but personally, if my husband ever asked me why I was talking to another guy (for any amount of time or at any time of day) I would punch him in the face. It sounds like there is a different problem going on here: First, if you knnow she doesn't like to talk…

I tend to work it into my day throughout. I get off the subway (I live in NYC) a few stops early in the morning and walk the remaining mile to work. I walk another mile the same way on the way home. At work I do exercises at my desk every hour or so, because I get really stiff and uncomfortable if I sit still too long.…

Oh, I wish I could go swimming, but that's an expensive hobby in NYC. I guess I could sit in my bathtub and splash water everywhere!

I haven't been to a doctor about it since high school. That might be a good idea.

I've never seen any studies on this, but am wondering how using an under the desk peddler (a little set of bike pedals) would counteract the effects of sitting all day, if at all.

I never counted cals on SB. You don't have to, according to the book. If you're eating the ~5 cups of veggies per day recommended, you can have as much protein as you want, provided they are lean meats or low fat dairy products. This blog has a lot of really awesome SB recipes for all phases:…
