  • Mid 60's here, not my first weight loss rodeo but hopefully my last. I was on a never ending plateau, bouncing around with in the same 8lbs range. I am now on a doctor supervised (my choice not by necessity) high protein diet & the scale is moving again (very slowly but it is moving). My doctors goal for me is 120g of…
  • I feel your pain. I have the same issue and most people seem to comment that I'm not weighing my food, not logging everything I eat because 1200 aday is barely enough to live off. I have been at a plateau for over a year and kind of bounce around a 5lb range but can't seem to get below it. Basically, this is maintenance…

  • So glad that I am not the only one struggling with this & I know just how discouraging it can be. I also don't lose at 1200 a day (5'4 66yr old) & I walk about 5 miles a day minimum. I don't eat back my excerise calories and try to keep my intake at about 1000 a day but progress is still super slow.
  • I mostly disregard it as it is way off for me. I am definitely far from average (and not in a good way). I am generally consistent day to day (calorie intake and excercise are fairly consistent) but don't I even come close to the 5 week projection so I just don't bother with it anymore.
  • I have lost & regained several times in my lifetime, mainting the loss for several years at a time. For me, weighing daily is what keeps me keeps me maintaining. All the regains started when I stopped weighing daily (usually due to a broken scale I didn't bother to replace). It keeps me accountable, which apparently I need.
  • To lose 10lbs before my trip to Seattle in December, I think I can, I think I can, I know I can (if I keep to my calorie goal & keep up the extra exercise).
  • OMG, been trying this for couple days but couldn't post. 2nd go around & looking for a team, please.
  • Thank you Ann for the most helpful reply, I'm begining to think it id definitely some medical issue & will follow up with my doctor.
  • Can you be a little more snarky??? It would be very helpful & motivating
  • As I have slipped here and there & fully admitted to that (never by alot) & usually no more than 2 days a week if that. My exercise has dropped off a little (to damn hot in AZ & most of my excercise is walking). To be clear I am a 66 yr old female have successfully dropped from my all time high of 240+lbs & have been at…
  • So I finally got back into reading these posts, my quick links stopped working & I didn't bother to access them another way but today I did & I'm feeling motivated again. Mini goal? To lose 4lbs by the end of the month.
  • Well no, no & no to all the above, I weigh all my food, most everything I eat is home made from scratch. I do my research and make sure I am using the approriate enties with as accurate as possible calorie counts. I appreciate the answers and suggestions and thank all who responded.
  • LOL, I'm 66 5'4 and if I consumed 1900 a day I'd be right back where I started, yes 1900 a day would cause weight gain for me and I do get some excerise daily.
  • Hey thanks for the invite. I didn't receive the invitation but I was able to click on the link.
  • Alwaysgreat to get out of the X's. Congrats
  • Hi, I'm new to the 5% challenge but not to MFP. Would be happy with any team that is available. Thank you.
  • I'm with you, briefly dipped to 158 but have been hovering in the mid 160's for a year /sigh. Better than 240 (my highest) though. This is not where I want to be for maintenance but I'm grateful to be where I am rather than where I was. Putting some real effort into dropping into the 150's again.
  • Same except my stall has been for a few months, seriously back at it again for about a week, hopefully the scale will be going the right direction for awhile.
  • Oh yeah, I have adult daughters like that too ;)
  • To get serious about losing again so I can break through this 5lb range I've been bouncing around in all summer.
  • I cleaned out my closet a couple month back (not yet at goal but had a ton of clothes that were way too big) and put them in large trash bags to donate. I had 2 bags stuffed full & a 3rd half full which I left on the floor of the closet for a week or so. I moved the full bags to the trunk of my car so I could donate them…
  • To get into the healthy BMI range, just under 10lbs to go. It's probably going to take awhile as weight loss has significantly slowed down but that's ok, it's not a race.
  • I may not be where I want to be but I'm happy I'm not where I was.
  • So inspiring... Although I am not yet where I want to be I am so grateful I am not where I was. Thank you for reminding me of that.
  • So an email went out at work late Friday which I didn't see until this morning noting birthdays & anniversaries for July. It included a picture of the employee. My Birthday was in July and the photo they included is 4 years old and probably at my heaviest or close to it. My NSV? I really look nothing like that photo…
  • I can definitely relate. I realized I had no tops that fit except tshirts & tanks. I needed a few casual tops. As I am not yet at goal and didn't want to spend alot, I ordered online & was having a hard time decided on size. At this retailer an XL is a US12 a L is a US10, I decided on the XL because I was afraid the L…
  • I had to renew my drivers license and didn't want to put my actual weight. Not because I'm embarrassed by it (it's 20lbs less than my previous license) but because I know I'm going to lose more and won't be close to my current weight in a few months. I did give my actual weight btw
  • To break through this plateau I'm bouncing round in. Been stuck in the same 3 pound range for almost a month now, so annoying. Still eating at a deficit & exercising the same (or a little more) but trusting the process as this isn't the first plateau. Just so frustrating :#
  • I am exactly the opposite and love underwire bras. For me, they are more supportive and provide better shape (no, I don't mean the padded 'tshirt bras' just the regular ones). Anyway, I had given up wearing them the last few several years because they no longer fit right and were extremely uncomfortable, wires cut in under…
