Up at 4:00 ish, before the alarm, on weekdays. Gives me time to put wood in the wood stove, read the news and have a cup of coffee before heading out at 5:00 for a 5:30 crossfit class.

Deadlifts are my favorite. Hurts so good!

I'm in. Just bought a fat tire bike yesterday. Wow, just wow. It's a beast, climbs anything. I've got a lot to learn on it, but I just can't stop smiling when I ride that thing! Also do the stationary at the gym. Hopefully in for 150 miles this month.

Crossfit I go to is well instructed. There's no "flailing" around for an hour. It's a blast, so much fun..and I'm "old". I also work out a bit at home, which helps reach my goals faster. "Everyday stronger" is our crossfit motto. I never thought I could climb a rope, ever, and it took some time, but yesterday I rocked it…

1200 seems too low for your height. I'm almost 5' tall and I'm set at 1300 calories a day.

I also gained from vacation and the holidays. And slow and steady has gotten me close to being where I was. I also decided to take a day off from the gym this week. I wasn't sure if I should then realized it's okay. It's okay to listen to your body and give it what it needs. Even though my mind can be so driven! (My back…

I'm 5 feet and was close to 140 when I started. I find that 105-110 is good for me, anything lower and I look too thin. I'm back on MFP for a tune up because I gained too much over vacation and the holidays, won't do that again! Are you weighing your food? I weigh and measure everything, it really helps. Good luck, it will…

Congrats on your weight loss! I'm a lot older than you and I have some of the dreaded "bingo wings". I have noticed that lately they don't look as bad since I started doing crossfit. So, while I know you can't spot reduce, you can build muscle and everything starts to look tighter. And the fact that you're so young is on…

So sorry to hear about your mother. All of the advice given sounds good. I'm not a runner, hate running. But with that said I did do two small runs last summer. (One was uphill and I walked most of the way.) I started out walking, everyday. Everyday. And to my surprise I got better and better. I came to look forward to my…

Picking up my new fat tire bike, can't wait to ride the snow!

I have it everyday on toast. And sometimes just by the spoonful. Yum. I also just got a huge jar of "naked pb", it's just powdered, no sugar or anything added. I like to add that to my banana smoothies. In the beginning of my weight loss journey I was not able to have a jar in the house. So glad I've learned moderation.

Thanks for the laugh, all of the replies also, "starvation mode", "size 0", "detox". etc. And, yes, what a great way to honor your father. It's a ride we all have a ticket for. Sorry for your loss, imho the first year anniversary is the toughest.

Slow and steady wins the race. I agree with the above posters, make small changes. Try doing some walking, even if it's only around the block, park as far away as you can at the grocery store, take the stairs instead of the elevator, that kind of thing. After awhile it will get easier and easier. You can do it, you'll feel…

I eat 5 or 6 times a day, small portions every 3 or so hours.

I know there's a lot of folks here who log everything during a binge. I don't, too depressing. Don't beat yourself up, try and figure out what your triggers are and move on. I get up the next day and start fresh. Don't let one day turn into two, or three etc. I find it helps to not get to the point of starving, that's when…
-
Do you have a scale to weight your portions? I found, in the beginning, it was really helpful to weigh my food so that I could get used to what a "normal" portion looked like. And log everything. And, yaay! for your 4 pounds lost, keep doing whatever you're doing! Eat things you like, try new veggies, whatever works, but…

Hey Mike, you've come to the right place. Of course you can do it! I have a friend who just said "no" to type 2 diabetes. She joined MFP and started doing small walks. Slow and steady DOES win the race. Good luck to you.

Welcome back CJboot. 100 pounds lost is amazing! I, too, am back after a careless summer. I found that all I needed was to start logging again. And the first 10 pounds went fast, mostly water weight I guess. I'm sure that will happen to you too. The next 10, I know, will be more work. Don't beat yourself up, you know what…

At the risk of getting my head ripped off for this, I believe long term high protein, low carb, low fat was the cause of my kidney stones. I ate waaaay too much protein for over a year and this Spring had kidney stones. I stupidly thought that if some protein was good, then more was better. Typical Bro-science, or in this…

Are you weighing your portions? If you like meat and pork chops, then eat them. No need to torture yourself. 1000 calories a day isn't enough, especially if you're in the gym for 2.5 hours. Your body needs fuel for those workouts. Think of it as a lifestyle change, not a diet. If you're gaining weight it's because you're…

Welcome babybear51, you've come to the right place. Keep logging, keep an eye on portions (I find weighing on a food scale really helped me get a reality check on correct portion size) and any kind of movement, if you're able, even a small walk. It's all good, don't be too hard on yourself, one day at a time. We all…

Welcome, walking is great exercise, keep going. That's how I started out, I'd tell myself, "A little bit further, a little bit more. A little bit further than you've gone before." And everyday I'd make a mental note of how far I'd gone, the next day I'd take a step or two more past where ever it was I had turned around the…

Hello cigaram720, I visited your lovely state and did smoke the legal pot. And, well, that's why I'm back here. Even though I hiked and biked, I also ate, alot! And, no, I didn't visit for the ganja, came for the mountains and hot springs. I was at my goal weight for about 6 months but lost all self control! Seems I…

So sad to see the name you've picked for yourself, you can hate the extra pounds but that isn't reason to hate yourself. Good luck on your journey, much love and good thoughts coming at you.

I was maintaining just fine, until vacation. I ate with reckless abandon, came home and avoided the scale. Kept eating as if I were in vacation mode. Clothes started to get tight. It wasn't until I got on the scale that reality sunk in, 15 pounds in 5 weeks! My advice is to get on the scale and that will jolt you back.…

Yes, you will lose weight.

For me getting rid of the "fat" clothes has been the best motivator. There's no way I'm going to start buying larger sizes. Ever. With that said, I'm back after gaining 15 pounds, why? I was in Colorado, where, ahem, cannabis is legal. Don't judge me people, it was legal. And it was shocking to realize how quickly and…

Awareness is the first step towards change, you're on the right track, just had a minor detour. Don't beat yourself up over it. Log it and continue to move forward. The fact that your binges are tame is a great first step. Keep going, you can do it!
-
Welcome back shortygirl. I found the pounds slowly adding on, so, I'm back too. It's been almost 2 weeks and it feels so good to be back on track. I'm grateful that I had gotten rid of all the old "fat" clothes. It was a wake up call for me when everything I own started to get tight. Ugh. Take it one day at a time, keep…

Yes. It was an old friend from high school days. I realized it had nothing to do with me, it was her insecurities about herself. She was always the tall skinny one. Me, not so much, lol, barely 5 feet tall and well rounded. Over the years we didn't get to see each other much, as we live in different states, but over the…
