I fully agree with puffbrat above. Your post is coming from a mental space and seeking help is the strongest thing you can do for yourself. If you don't have a doctor (or have one you really like), you can go to a counselor who specializes in emotional eating. There's dietitians, licensed social workers, and psychologists…

I won't eat fat free dairy. The A & D vitamins it's fortified with are fat soluble and won't be absorbed without a little fat. Also, it just tastes better.

Should we start a group?

I have ~25 lbs. I want to drop, and am more than happy to be part of a community. I think it could be really beneficial, and I haven't tried it out, so feel free to add me!

I am in the same boat, 5'4" staring down ~25 lbs. Getting started is the hardest part, staying motivated gets easier when I start to see results, but I for sure am looking for accountability buddies. I'm just going to add you all as friends.

I am in the same boat as you are, 5'4" and looking at ~25lbs. Getting going is the hardest part, staying motivated gets easier when results are seen...but I am absolutely also looking for a support system and accountability buddies. I'm in, let's go.

I agree, it does come down to eating what you actually like to eat without putting any shame on the food type. If everyone were to be assigned the exact same diet, the world would be super boring (and grumpy). Everyone's tastes are different, and that's a-ok and even worth celebrating.

This program DOES give calories for workouts, but if you eat them all you are in calorie balance and maintaining your weight. If you don't eat your exercise calories, you are in calorie deficit and you will be losing weight.

They are probably projecting their own insecurities onto you. Living a healthy lifestyle for yourself is the best way to handle this, because really, you get to leave at the end of the summer. Keep making good choices, and remember that you are more educated on healthy eating than they are.

No one ever finishes a workout and thinks "Ooof. I shouldn't have done that."
