all day at work you can't stop thinking about the new running shoes you just bought but haven't tried yet... (til tonight)

Rehoming ads can sometimes state "rehoming fee"... depending on the desperation for rehoming you might want to waive the fee.. i can't imagine a rehoming fee does anything to help find him a better home anyway... (this is such a great thread hehe)

OMG i can't stop laughing as I picture someone saying those words and the face accompanying it

This is not a joking situation, people should never eat apples and only consume peanuts, the "good fat"... oh and diet coke.
-
omg peanuts are sooooo fattening, oh but its good fat so eat like 2,000 more but don't dare have an apple cuz that's all sugar.. PUT DOWN THE APPLE PLEASE NO DON"T EAT THE APPLE!!! <cringing>

hahaha don't worry after if your really chilly, and slightly delirious, from the ice, fire is next to warm you up! :-D I am soooooo stoked to be doing such a crazy race where that last sentence may seem joking and yet is true! whoohoo! although getting tips helps prevent little annoyances that might come up otherwise, like…

thank you guys SOOOOOO much!!! I should have realized that people may be exaggerating the shocks but on many videos it seemed like it really hurt. I have heard that the bigger the mass of the person the more electric charge so hopefully for me it's true lol I shall say "thank you sir, may i have another!" Hey Spartacus, I…

OMG this is 100% true

Great point... do you recomment like a tank or long sleeve? I wonder if the long sleeve would end up with arms just being annoying or if it will serve as protection. It will be cold... there was a snow storm that weekend last year in NJ during October (fluke occurance but happened). I hope to just run through without…

I'm sure you were 100% accurate that the person was overweight and out of shape... people that are in shape, or are trying, NEVER make those comments. I get the same crap but the opposite spectrum... i've been given dirty looks when I jog and have had comment from overweight people because of what i look like now... little…

YES you are still a runner!!! i was injured for 2 months.. it was horrible :-( I'd run in sleet and snow and 100+ w/ humidity now that i've experienced no running! "You might be a runner if the only time you see a doctor is when whatever is ailing you starts to interfere with your running... you'll run rain, heat, snow,…

5 foot even... I'm "chihuahua-size".... :-)

On the opposite spectrum, i have lost all the weight and have been on maintenance successfully for a year and did it with moderation. My biggest pet peeve was hearing "oh well we were going to go here, but i guess you can't". or "wow you're eating a cookie? really?" I haven't given up anything and go out to eat daily since…

You are not naive at all. I have never trained for a half with more than 10 miles. If you can do that you are completely fine and ready for the race :-)... I was also in your position where I had planned a half marathon and was only at 10 the weeks coming up to the race and finished without walking/pain or anything. Good…

I dont cook, I work far from home, I workout when I get home.. cooking dinner at 8pm just don't sound appealing to me nor does it after traveling 50+ miles to/from work each day. Do i get fries? NO, do i get fruit and salads and grilled chicken, yes. If i had children I would hope to work closer to home in order to prepare…

haha would LOVE that version but I'll stick with my one day of torture haha but thank you for your military services :-)! Great Idea! Well "great" in terms of something NOT fun but necessary. I'm already planning and texted my cousin about it. I'm sure she has a kids pool having the girls. It's in October and with how warm…

Thank you guys so much for the advice!! I had my cousin "commit" officially and her BF is flying from Florida to NJ just for this race SOOOO I believe i am FULLY committed... well as long as in the next week my running injury doesn't act up... I am scared and excited and so glad to have been able to gather advice from…

Good on the fact upper body training isn't too necessary.. i'm quite tiny and never have had been very strong no matter how much I train! Unfortunately the race is in NJ in October and last year that was the weekend that we randomly had an ice/snow storm... i HOPE that isnt the case this year. I guess I should prepare as…
-
Thank you so much for the advice! did you do anything special for upper body training before the race? I watched a video on the ice part... WHEWWW.. they said you just become disoriented and will need help out of it. The electric part is last in this one too. I would love to have that headband and feel like a champ for…

anyone? hehe

is it possibly dehydration that caused the headaches? Massages can cause that too... my friend gets migraines unless drinks a lot of water and I usually prepare for a massage with hydrating before and after. I'm looking for a relaxing experience and maybe if hopefully it providing some detoxing nutrients, etc that maybe my…

I ALWAYS get steamed chicken, steamed broccoli, and white rice with NO sauce... i LOVE IT!! granted when my dog is sick i share with him but i think it's delish with some salt and pepper... yum now i want that for lunch!
-
Why would you say that?? it's like how I like to say "why run, i could be injured and besides people die during marathons, I should just eat cheetos on my couch and drink my barrel of soda since exercise is harmful". hehe j/k obviously I feel completely the same when i read this. and like the other person said "unhealthy…

Chick-Fil-a is awesome, i eat it at least once a week and am a happy camper (I don't cook... no time for that and i am healthy and go ahead judge me blah blah)... ANYWAY... what i wanted to add was the char-grilled chicken sammich (yes sammich) is 290 calories (no pickles or tomato)... you can take off half the bun and use…

Height, 5 foot even weight 112.0 pounds on maintenance but lost 45 pounds at an average of 1.3 a week waist went from OMG <be brave, take a breath> 36+ inches to <ah forgetting the original number> 25-26 allowed 1400 calories for maintenance a day age 30
-
Why do runners even feel the need to put any pictures up about their running or even talk about it.. like 'oh look at me, i'm so cool, i'm a runner". Just burns me up that they do that.
-
The last few pounds are the hardest and a lot has to do with the math of losing them. I'm not sure what your maintenance calorie intake is but my maintenance currently is 1400 calories... this site is designed to not allow a person to go under 1200 (and DO NOT DO THAT for so many reasons but basically so your body can…

A lot could do with the lack of logging possibly. I know when I don't log, what I might think is 200 calories might actually be say 400... example of a flavored coffee the other day.. I looked it up and it was actually over 300 calories! Spend a couple of weeks recording all the foods you have then revisit the issue.…

depends on what type of atmosphere you are looking for... sea isle is a huge party place w lots of fun bars, cape may is laid back with shops and is a beautiful town with a very nice beach but very quiet, margate is a nice place to go to the beach for a day (and I think Lucy the Elephant is there too hehe) and Margate has…
