Did you hear that Nick Saban was only going to dress half the Alabama team this weekend? The other half is going to have to dress themselves!!!!!! WAR EAGLE!

Everyone has highs and lows in everything, especially the workplace. Not wanting to kill the thread or upset anyone, I would ask that we all have a little perspective on our work "problems". I am currently in the process of shutting down our manufacturing facility, where we will leave over 1,000 people without a job, in an…

It is a common misconception that the larger "oversized padded" seats are more comfortable. Go to a bike shop and have a bike fitted for you, specifically your inseam, reach, height, and type of riding you will be doing. The bigger the seat, the farther apart your legs are at the more severe the angle is out of the hips.…

Not wanting to start a big fuss, but I must comment on the "no religion" theme brought up on this thread. Why do people get so defensive and worried / upset about hearing from the Bible, but are so willing to accept and listen to ideas about Mayan culture, Nostradamus , and other nonsensical websites? Why are Christian…

I don't want to pull for Lance, not thinking really high of his husband / fathering skills - but I keep finding myself pulling for him to wear yellow. What a story. if he could only put some of that talent to work for his own family!

I have watched every minute of every stage - sometime twice! I ride over 125 miles a week, and it is embarrassing how fast these guys are and how effortless they make it look. In my opinion, these guys are some of the best athletes in the world.

Cant believe nobody mentioned "The Magnificent Seven" or "The Man who shot Liberty Valence"

Very interesting topic, one on which I am sure I will be in the vast minority opinion. 1st - mice are pests/vermin and should be disposed (killed) in the most humane way possible, but still killed. Mice and rats are a common carrier of disease, and removing them from the house does not solve the problem, it just moves the…

I would respond with some kind of nasty remark about the past success of Auburn over other not so successfull SEC teams, but I am too busy hiding under my desk in the fetal position waiting till next year!!!!!
-
Being an Auburn man myself, I am unable to comment intellegently on college football, or as we like to say lately " what the &^%$&# just happened?" Phillip Fulmer was paid 6 million dollars to walk away at the end of the year, Currently Auburn fans are saving up for Tubbey!

I have been averaging between 125-150 miles a week on my bike for the last four months. Due to the cold weather (34 degrees when I got up to ride today!) I had to go to the gym and use the eliptical machine. I haven't been able to ride in four days! Does anyone know when is the first day of spring??

Great to hear from another one in the Alabama Family!!!!! One question - WAR EAGLE or ROLL TIDE????
-
There are almost as many types of bikes as there are riders! My wife and I started riding about 6-7 months ago, starting out with cheap Wal-Mart mtn bikes. These were hard to ride any distances/speed due to two main problems: 1) Wide, low pressure tires (high rolling resistance) and 2) shock absorbers on the front forks or…

What are the best college football rivalries out there? What ones do you really get into? and what are some of your best rivalry team jokes? I get the pleasure of the best rivalry in the world - Auburn vs Alabama! How do you get an Alabama Graduate off your porch?,,,,,,,,,,,,, pay him for the pizza! let's hear some major…

I was raised in NC - still love my Heels for the roundball bad have to go with my SEC in football. Having lived through the **** Crum yrs at Carolina, I am glad to see them doing well.

Just the sight of her makes my heart go "pitter-patter"..... and the bike ain't half bad either!!!!!!!
-
If I hadn't just gone to an Auburn game last week I would argue passionately with you, since then I have been hiding under my desk in the fetal position (much like our offense!)
-
I was not aware that football was played outside the SEC!!!

Sorry to hear about that - what a stress! How has your bank handled this? My mother in law had this happen several years ago and her bank bent over backwards to help her out. I tend to stress more about finances that anything - but just keep reading Philipians 4:6, and know it will work out!

I have a degree in HR, and while I am a production manager I also do a lot of interviews for both internal and external hiring ( I am also an on-campus recruiter for a local university). I have done literally hundreds of interviews, and the color of someones shirt has yet to matter. What matters most is a proven track…

Great Dawg (in the south you have to include the "w" in the word!) Bamboo trained our Bassett puppy to ring a giant jingle bell hung on the door whenever he needs to potty! There are actually companies that make seats for dawgs so you can take your puppy with you on your bike rides!

I know I don't post on the normal cycle group threads, but I wanted to start this weeks' thread off by bragging on my wonderful wife, BAMBOO!. She completed a metric century ride Saturday ( a very hilly course) in a fantastic time. She did the entire event on a hybrid bike (one of only three non road bikes in the whole…

I am speechless.... Someone actually took my advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the exact same model I have been eyeing for my wife. I am glad to hear you took the plunge. The price sounds like you got a great deal, and i am glad you found a good bike shop. Now, pass the insanity along by letting someone else borrow your…

I respect the advice about components - but don't forget the obvious first- the bike must fit you and your style of riding. Whatever you buy, make sure you have it professionally fitted to you. A really good bike shop will do that for free. Start with a good frame that is fitted for you ( you can always upgrade components…

Thanks for the information. I know that you have really been working hard, and "Bamboo" and I are really proud of you! Keep up the great work! I don't know if Bamboo will let me buy anything else for my bike!!! I have done tons of research on roadbikes- so if you need any info before you buy let me know. Thanks,

I am curious about your "hornless" saddle..... How does it handle? All of the reviews I have read claim that it makes a road bike too unstable to control at speed. I have broken my pelvis/tailbone in the past and was hoping that the hornless type would be more comfortable. I currently ride 150 miles per week on a racing…

Thanks for the post- I have just given up reading anything due to the content not being what I had signed up for! Too often things will settle to the lowest common denominator without uplifting words such as yours.

I manage a group of about 110 people - and we have MANY interesting people here (manufacturing site). I do have one employee who has an "imaginery" friend he brings to work every day. He has even called in sick , but told me not to worry about covering his job because "Charlie" would be in to work and could do the job just…

Sunday is the wife and mine's 12th wedding anniversary. If there is one gift I would love to give her - it would be for her to see herself through my eyes for just one day. I have been hopelessly, madly (and very lustily) in love with her since the moment I met her 16 years ago. While she is not the same size today she was…

Are you intersested in selling your road bike? I am looking to upgrade- but having trouble turning loose the wallet! Thanks!
