Just in the last month, my resting heart rate has decreased, I'm sleeping better, and my fitness level has improved. I had to increase the difficulty level on my stationary bike because the previous level was too easy!

Let's leave morals out of this and look at nutrition. Don't cut out entire food groups unless you've researched the advantages/disadvantages. I'm a vegetarian and for me, it's the right way to eat because I feel better physically, and I'm already allergic to dairy. But I did my research on nutrition, protein sources, whole…

You don't have much weight to lose, so you could create a deficit by eating your maintenance calories, working out, and not eating those burned calories back (or at least not eating all of them back, since you work out quite a bit). That's what I've been doing. I'm set to lose 1-1.5 lbs/wk and since I don't eat back most…

Heh... I think I'm the biggest one to post so far. SW: 315 CW: not sure, but I've lost a significant amount in my face, the waist of my jeans is looser, and my back fat is less pronounced. GW: I'd be happy with 180. 44-48-59. That's after I lost an inch both in my underbust and my waist. My hips have not changed at all.

Pretty much all of her recipes are good. Definitely try the spicy kale and coconut stir fry. I added carrots and hot cherry peppers. http://cookieandkate.com/2014/spicy-kale-and-coconut-stir-fry/ Also - sweet potatoes are excellent when baked and stuffed with spinach, cranberries, and other delicious things.

Slice up an apple and dip the slices in peanut butter. Easy snack for a sweet tooth. You can also put the apple slices in a jar with a tablespoon of orange juice - that way the apple slices don't get brown, and they're portable. I got this tip from my doctor. Put hot sweet cherry peppers on your sandwich. I get mine from…

Sweet potatoes are delicious and have fewer calories and more good nutrients than regular potatoes. I eat them regularly. They're good mashed with a little cinnamon and butter/nondairy spread, but they're even better when you chop them up and bake them for 45-60 minutes at 400 degrees with a little bit of olive oil and…

For real! I love Thug Kitchen. Also, if you're into vegetarian food, try http://pickyeaterblog.com/

I'm another FitnessBlender fan! I've been using their workout videos for almost a month, now, and I really enjoy them. Kelli and Daniel are both super encouraging and I like that they give ideas for making the workouts either easier or more difficult. I just started the 4 week program for beginners (I'm enough of a…

Hiya! I also have over 100 pounds to lose (and I'm not even trying to get below a size 16 or so). MFP has been really helpful for me so far. I'm also not focusing on my weight at this point. I'm taking measurements every couple of weeks and also taking monthly pictures of my face/profile to judge physical changes over…

Strength training will help you burn fat and maintain muscle mass, or at least lose less of it. You can also add nuts and legumes to a lot of meals in order to boost your calories. Slivered almonds are great with steamed green beans, add pine nuts to a salad or spaghetti sauce, dip vegetables in hummus, dip apple slices in…

I suppose if he really wanted to, since I stay logged in. I don't know why he would want to, though.

That change is amazing, and you look so happy now!

I'm 29, married, and no plans to ever have kids. My family is complete with just a husband and cats and dogs and chickens and tropical fish. Right now we just have a feisty old lady cat (she's been my baby since college), and a 5 y/o black lab who still thinks he's a puppy. Add me if you like. :D

In general, the larger you are, the more pounds need to be dropped in order to drop a size.

Natural peanut butter (it's runny so the apples scoop it right up) and a granny smith apple, cored and cut into eight slices. Or 2-3 slices of marinated baked tofu. I keep it in the fridge.

Fiber and protein will keep you fuller. I make my own bagels with a mix of all-purpose and whole wheat flour. They're not low-cal, but they're very filling if you cut one in half and make a scrambled egg sandwich. Lunch may be a salad with some EVOO/balsamic vinegar, spring mix, arugula, and some baked tofu on the side, or…

I'm a middle school speech/language pathologist! Not quite the same as a teacher, but I keep the same hours as special education teachers, and I do co-teach sometimes.

Or you could get the sugar free gummy worms. That would be kind of poetic.

What a huge change, especially in your waist and face! You look lovely. Go you!
-
Oh God, this is so true. :noway:

Make sure to eat at least 25-30 grams of fiber per day, and that's really all you need to be doing. A colon cleanse will not help weight loss and is not necessary unless ordered by a doctor before a procedure.

If you bake at all, try making your own bagels. You can put the recipe into your database. My "everything" bagels have around 270 calories, which isn't terrible as long as I'm not eating two or three in one sitting. They're good with tahini or veggies.

I do it for whatever reason is the most motivating at the time. I've been at this four three weeks (two with MFP) and I have many reasons. Whatever reason it takes at the time is good enough for me. Here are some of mine: -I feel physically and mentally exhilarated after I exercise. That's often enough motivation to get…

One's job definitely makes a difference. I am a school speech therapist. During the school year, I'm on my feet much of the day, switching from table to whiteboard, walking in and out of classrooms, cleaning up and preparing for my next group of students, grabbing things off of shelves, etc. I don't get all that much desk…

I lose from the top down. First my chin/neck, then my bust/arms, then my waist/stomach, then my hips, then my thighs. Really, I lose from all over, but that's how things settle afterward.

An idea I got from my doctor, of all people, was to cut up an apple, then put the slices into a jar with a tablespoon of orange juice to keep the apple from going brown. That way she has something healthy to snack on in between patients. I plan on trying this when I go back to work in the fall, because I often have very…

I'm female, 29, over 300 lbs. I went vegetarian and cut out artificial sweeteners 3 weeks ago and started exercising/tracking calories two weeks ago. I see some small changes in my face and neck, and I have lost quite a bit of water weight. I'm judging my body changes using measurements. So far I've lost an inch off my…

I find that when I have a craving. it's best to satisfy it intelligently. If I really need chocolate, I'll eat a square of dark chocolate (the expensive kind that satisfies me with just a little bit, mmmmmm). If I desperately need something salty, I always have pickles around. I have a question for you: Do you drink diet…

Make a fruit compote and add it to oatmeal. I made a compote using 3 nectarines and some pluots along with a couple tablespoons of honey and some lemon juice. Chop up the fruit, let it macerate with the honey and lemon juice for a couple of hours in the fridge, then cook it down over the stove for 10-15 minutes. It lasts a…
