Yuck! Vegan sausage?

It's not just girls. It's guys. And everyone in between. Plenty are also attracted to people of all sizes. That said, this thread is... Yeah.

I haven't encountered sabotages, but I also didn't announce to anyone that I was trying to lose weight. The only time I mentioned it was a few weeks ago when, during a conversation about such things, I said "Speaking of which, I've lost 17 pounds! This whole eating healthy thing really is a nice thing, isn't it?" If he's…

I say embrace your thighs. They are powerful and have a lot of muscle. Why yes, I do have thunder thighs myself.

ETA: 22. I was too slow the first time.

Diet soda. When I stopped drinking diet soda, my cravings for junk food diminished. I still eat cookies sometimes, but not nearly as often as before!

Weight is a number. Most people don't think I weigh as much as I do. My highest ever was 320. SW was 315, CW is 298, GW is... I don't know? We'll see what happens when I drop to 250. Whatever feels healthiest will be what I stick with. 17 pounds is a lot when you're starting out, and it does make me feel different.

Not eating enough will sabotage your weight loss. Eat something. Maybe some pad thai.

I really love FitnessBlender for strength training workouts. They have lots of beginner and intermediate workouts for those of us who are not exercise or weight lifting experts.

See a gastroenterologist and/or an allergist. What you are describing looks like allergies or possible celiac. ETA: I am allergic to dairy. I stubbornly kept eating it thinking I needed the calcium and other nutrients. Then I got smart and stopped eating dairy altogether, and my symptoms (dry skin patches, blotchy skin,…

Weight fluctuates throughout the day with food intake, water intake/output, and more. Don't stress about it. And don't weigh yourself more than once a day. I'd just use the 138.

Dynamic stretching (moving stretches, like arm circles and torso twists) are good before a workout. Stretches that are held in place should come after a workout.

I do wall push-ups, and eventually I'll work my way down to floor push-ups. I'm at the point where I can do some push-ups from my knees, too. I was blessed with long arms and legs with a relatively short torso, and my brother is the same way (and he's around 6'4", in the USAF). It's harder for us to do push-ups than it is…

Every time I go to Las Vegas, I eat and drink more than I normally do. I also walk *everywhere* all day. I either gain a pound or two, stay the same, or even lose a couple of pounds. Exercise and movement are good for you.

Roasted green bean. This one had a lot of garlic on it.

Dumbbells. I have a cheapo set by The Firm and they adjust from 1 up to 7 pounds. I bought them three years ago before I learned more about heavy lifting. Now that I'm exercising again, the dumbbells are tiding me over until I have the money for a better set (I'm getting the PowerBlock Sport 5.5 set soon!).

Diet soda and artificial sweeteners. I feel so much better without them, and cutting them out has made it a lot easier to indulge in other delicious things (buttershots, chocolate, pie, coconut ice cream, I could go on) without going overboard. Also, meat and dairy. I'm allergic to dairy and I don't eat meat. Doesn't mean…

I stopped diet soda cold turkey. It was awful for about two weeks. However, once the cravings subsided, so did the desire to eat a lot of junk food. Artificial sweeteners trigger a lot of junk food cravings for me. So yes, I had good luck. I partake in the occasional bit of junk food, but I have not had artificial…

If you're walking to and from classes, the dorm, etc. then you will be burning more calories than you currently do. Also, rice and beans make a good meal! Tofu is also often cheaper than its equivalent weight in meat. I ate a lot of tofu and veggie stir fry in grad school for this reason.

Doesn't it feel great to take control over your health/life/eating habits on your own terms?
-
I did, for a long time. Before I could get on with any kind of weight loss or health measures, I had to learn how to love myself as is. I'm at the point now where I don't care how much I lose, as long as I keep healthy and maintain the good habits I'm learning. I do not own a scale, so I'm taking measurements every couple…

Exercising will help you feel better mentally and emotionally. Even going for a daily walk can really boost the good chemicals in your brain. And walking is excellent exercise. You can lose weight by walking and eating enough calories to nourish yourself but still create a calorie deficit. I also really like…

Mental health is as important as physical health. Taking medication for mental health is not cheating. Don't feel guilty about needing and accepting help. If a happy side effect is a reduction in binge eating? All the better. Good luck.

If I can find something in the database that's close, I enter that. If not, I don't bother. I don't eat out very often, so it's not going to hurt anything if I don't track calories for a day or two a month.

I don't know that any one workout is more effective for certain body shapes. I'm a pear/triangle/bottom-heavy shape, whether I'm at my current weight or when I'm at a much lower weight. I've always worn pants and skirts that were one or two sizes bigger than my shirts. Since I began losing weight, my upper body…

Good for you! I'm also over 300 pounds (or I was last time I weighed myself, it's been over a month), and I'm finally ready to take control over my health. The soda thing was HUGE for me. I feel so much better without it. I'll cheer you on if you get cravings/caffeine headaches - give it a couple of weeks and you will feel…
