I have been catching up on some old postings today. I ended up buying Giant Crossover bike and I bought from a local shop. So I took so many of yours advice. However, I haven't rode it for a year but I'm getting ready to once again. I fell and all but broke my arm. It took months to heal and then I've had some life matters…

It has been awhile. I finally ended ordering pants from Amazon and they fit!! In fact I've been fairly steady updating my wardrobe. Now that I'm finally losing weight again I may be changing sizes once more.

Ditto to MPH. Who buys his beer? You need to go too. Perhaps your whole family does. This isn't to demean but this is a family crisis. My heart and prayers are with you.

I'm not a vegetarian but there are weeks where I will go 3 or 4 days with no meat. I do find that rewarding. Usually it's when I have cabbage soup (Which I love) or some type of vegetable soup. I probably should explain rewarding. What I mean by that is I'm don't feel sluggish while my body is trying to digest some meats.…

You look Marvelous! Great job there!

I like this question. For me I have to be under all the time not that I am. If I did that I would lose control. However, I do go to a buffet on Saturday evenings. However, no desert, and one plate or less. Then too I make sure I get some exercise that day. In the last 4 weeks I've lost about 10lbs. If I gain I may skip the…

Nice going folks! I don't have heart ailments (yet) but I did have slightly higher BP and I'm borderline diabetic. My A1C is 6.6 and 6.5 is the cutoff. That's been within the last couple of months. I did smoke for a long time (idiot) but have put that behind me with help from above. So while I've been starting to eat…

That is wonderful!

Take care of that and hope you heal fast.

Walking/Bicycling these days. Though I haven't exercised for a bit since almost breaking my arm.

I thought I would lose weight just because of water retention but I hadn't lost an ounce. I have heard of people losing weight after stopping though. I quit drinking diet drinks 219 days ago. I will tell you I'm richer. Like you I was really addicted. Didn't think I could even make to work without stopping for a diet cola.…

Thanks folks!

Thanks! I heard Carhill makes some good clothing too. I think it's spelled Carhill.

I guess the point was like others have said, I feel better and I have more money. I thought I would lose weight because I have heard others say they lost weight after they stopped drinking diet cola. I've heard because of the sodium. Now I'm no expert on that. I am however pretty happy to have given it up. Now if you folks…

It was diet cola.

Thanks! I really thought I would lose weight but oh well. Still a good choice for me.

Not much of a candy lover. My kids are way out of school including college. Hope that empty nest goes well. LOL

That 100 miles didn't work out. I fell while pushing my bike and nearly broke my arm. It still looks funny and that was 7.5 weeks ago. However, I'm thinking new helmet and I'm back at it.

Walking and bicycling. Riding a bike is great for the knees.
-
I don't think I'm going to make it the 100 miles. Only 36 miles in so far for September. However, I may get close.
-
If dieting causes problems then there was an issue before the weight loss. Just my opinion and experience from life itself.

I say no. However I think they are already exposed to sales tax. In many states you pay taxes on any grocery item, good or bad. I just recently quit drinking sodas, 130 days ago.
-
I think not. I'm just now trying to keep in touch with my groups.

From Indy. My daughter lives close to Anderson. I ride my bike in Greenfield. Pennsy Trail is pretty nice.

I started off walking but a knee injury reoccurred and biking is great for the knees. Just take it slow and easy. I'm not near where I want to be. I'd like to ride with a biking group but I'm too slow and can't go 25 miles on one hop......Yet.
-
See a doctor or physical therapist and then get a bike. Biking is good for knees. Best wishes to you.

I think you guys are the pros. I'm at 45 miles for the month of July, 35 biking and 10 walking. I just started riding a bike after about 30 years or more. I did take a ride about 4 years ago but that was that. I was more into walking. However, things change and I hurt my knee. Turns out biking is great for knees and…

I've been looking into bikes myself for a couple of months. I'm not even close to an answer. I saw a lady on a Cannondale. She loved it. I looked them up, several thousand dollars but depending what you want. I saw some in the 500s. I saw a guy on a Giant, haven't looked them up yet. But he liked it a lot. I do know you…

Thanks for all the inputs. You folks have me convinced to go to an LBS. As far as mechanical I'm not bad. I replaced 2 inner tubes on my bike before I could take it out. I hadn't replaced tubes in 30 years. So I still have it.
