  • I gave up regular soda as a first step. I started walking everywhere, parking really far away from everywhere I went, carried a jug of water with me, and joined this site. Eventually, I started drinking diet soda. I work midnights, and needed the caffeine. I only have one every few days. I don't drink fruit juice, and only…
  • Thank you!! I really need to color it again, but I'm waiting until I hit the 100lbs lost mark to reward myself. :)
  • By posting that you want to understand stupid people, you are saying that you are smart. And I'm not defending the other thread. Her title was not thought out properly, though her subject matter was sincere. Kind of.
  • I think it's funny that you are commenting on other people's intelligence, yet, you can't spell 'serious' or even punctuate a sentence correctly. Bravo to you!

  • I lost 60lbs between May and October last year. I was a lot bigger than you are, though. Just try to vary your calories. Do 1600 for a couple of days, then go to 1400. You need to confuse your body. Don't starve yourself.
  • You look amazing!! Your hair is gorgeous, BTW!
  • I agree. There are a lot of 120's and 130's on here! I have a good friend who is the same height as I am, and she's 130. It looks awesome on here, because her frame is tiny tiny. I have a larger frame, so I think at 130, I would look like Skeletor! lol! I think it's neat to see all of these goals. It really puts it into…
  • I'm 5'5", will be 31 in June, and would like to hit 160 by then. My highest weight was 288, last May. My current weight is 198. :) I'd like to hit 188 by May 1st, so I'll have lost 100lbs in a year. :)
  • su·per·fi·cial/ˌso͞opərˈfiSHəl/ Adjective: Existing or occurring at or on the surface: "superficial damage". Situated or occurring on the skin or immediately beneath it. So...by definition, it IS superficial.
  • Try rereading my post. I said, "spend your money on what you want." Huge flaps of skin is one thing. I'm talking about the people who lose weight super fast and have some sagging. Instead of building muscle to help with their skin, or trying anything natural, it's straight to the knife. I know that there are plenty of…
  • omg...is that your back in your profile pic?? That is GORGEOUS! You must have worked very hard to get it so sculpted! Congrats!! I totally agree with you, too. As long as there is no medical condition, there's no reason not to workout! If you feel "blah," then pushing through it will just make you feel so much more…
  • Again, I apologized TO HER about my attitude. Saying that I was rude at any point before my apology really doesn't mean anything. The topic was about SUPER skinny girls. The way I read it(which happened to be incorrect), was that she was calling herself super skinny. My comment was just of mere confusion. I didn't know how…
  • I love Dance Central. It really helped me when I began. I did it the other day, which was the first time in 50or so pounds...I wasn't out of breath or super tired 20 minutes in. It's so awesome!
  • Why don't you try reading my next post, where I apologized to her and then agreed with her message. If only people would keep reading before they hit that stupid quote button.
  • Who....me? :blushing: Calorie counting. All the way. I walked everywhere, too. If I go to the store, I park really far out. If I need to get something from a store in town, that's within a 3 mile radius, I walk. I cut out fried foods....mostly. I also cut down on bread, pasta, and rice. I didn't cut them out....just cut…
  • Maybe you're right. Maybe I misread things. It is super early in the morning. I just saw that you quoted a bunch of people and had negative things to say about each one of them. Why wouldn't you just make one post and get to the point? Your point, though, is valid. I think that too many overweight women attack thin women,…
  • Right on! Whenever I'm walking and don't want to go any more, I just picture that I'm walking towards this amazing dress that I want to fit into. lol! It works!
  • Walking. Seriously. It seems lame, but it works. Just start by walking around your neighborhood. Don't take a leisurely stroll. Walk like a dog is chasing you. It's okay if you're not walking a mile at first. Start with a few blocks, then build up. The key is to DO IT. It's super hard to find motivation sometimes. I know.…
  • Yes, I read something wrong. However, you proved my point about you being bitter by saying that I never learned to read properly. Really? That's pretty childish. You'll find that your views are taken much more seriously if you stop bashing other people. That's all you've done. I'm not insulting you, or saying that you're…
  • I have lost over 100lbs and have saggy skin here and there. I plan on doing strength training to tone up, and see if it helps. If it doesn't....then....oh well? I'll be healthy. That was the whole point of this journey. Not to win swim suit competitions. Spending $22k to cut up my body just to LOOK GOOD? Wow. In 15 years,…
  • You are a salty one, aren't you? First, at 170ish pounds, you are not skinny. Why do you refer to yourself as skinny in this post? Second, I agree....people shouldn't use terms like "twig" and "stick" to comment on people's shapes. It's rude. However, saying that someone is skinny, and then saying that they don't find it…
  • I have a question...when you first sign up, it asks how active you are. Your answer can change the daily calories it gives you. I put that I'm lightly active. I work 5 nights a week, and I walk an average of 2 miles doing bed checks every night. When I'm not doing bed checks, I'm sitting. I also do light cleaning, but…
  • Here's my problem: Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has something that works for THEIR body. Some theories work for the masses, some don't. I get that. The issue is that you titled your post as a myth. You are stating that the starvation mode and other things are myths. You aren't saying, "Hey, this worked for me. It…
  • Exactly. Long term. Why on earth would anyone want to get on a diet, lose the weight for a little while, then yo-yo for the rest of their life? If you learn about nutrition, adopt a manageable calorie intake, over 1200 a day, then you have a plan to stay healthy for the rest of your life. I have friends that have been…
  • I edited the name out of the post. While I don't agree that I should have the right to say what I believe to be a truth, I do respect the rules of the forum.
  • You've now said that TWICE. Before I changed my habits, I wasn't eating a whole lot of bad stuff. I have always loved fruits and veggies. I have always skimmed the fat off of meat. I was only eating two meals a day. That's it. Once I started eating more and exercising, my energy went up. Even on the days that I don't…
  • And the only thing that I've said is that you're kind of an idiot. I didn't say it to sling a name. I said it because I feel it's true. I'm not going to call you anything that isn't appropriate, or that shouldn't be on a public forum. I just think that it is very idiotic to post something this harmful on a public site,…
  • I didn't eat a whole lot of junk then, either. I've also noticed that my weight loss slows down if I don't hit 1200 calories in a day. I've been on this a month, and my energy is still high. According to your THEORY, I should be tired all of the time from eating so much more. I also know that once I reach my goal weight,…
