Guess who wrote a really long and meaningful post and pressed 'done'. Yep, you're right. Anyway, I do want to run. I have been hit by a bit of a perfect storm of: 1. Hitting two fairly long term goals together. So felt a bit rudderless. 2. Away for part of feb so couldn't run and drinking/poor food was expected. 3. Running…

So after a very good Jan and a very wobbly Feb. March was just a complete fail. I am really very annoyed with myself. But I just don't want to run. April is another chance. But if I can't stick April, its probably curtains. 1 April...5k, morning routine and Weights.

Well, March is not going any better than Feb. 5k tonight, only 2nd in the month. Distance....10k Runs...........2

After a three week break, I am back in for March. Let's just call Feb a write off and agree all my excuses were good ones. New cardio goal is to simply run a max of 4 times/25k a week. It is interesting how quickly the fitness fell away. 5k tonight which was pretty horrendous. So 10k this weekend looks unlikely.…

@TheMrWobbly well you know what they say. Every little helps.

Am sure everyone remembers and is glad you're back. I think you did race for the kids in London last year? I went to watch my youngest run, whilst avoiding running myself.

8k without interval, longest run straight through. Lets see if I can repeat on Thursday. 1. Run 10k without interval.................8k 2. Ttl no of runs 14+...........................3 3. Total distance 110k+......................29km 4. Long Run 17k+.................................16km 5. Strength training x3…

Managed 16k tonight through sheer bloody mindness. I think I may be better off running in the morning. 1. Run 10k without interval................. 2. Ttl no of runs 14+...........................2 3. Total distance 110k+......................21km 4. Long Run 17k+.................................16km 5. Strength training…

@shanaber 39k/wk. I am here because I want to lose weight, but having a scale no. as a goal is no good for me. So my first goal was to run 5k without stopping. 2nd goal once I'd done 5k was to go 10k, then 16k. So I got to 39k, because I dont want to run more than 4 times a week but I want to do a 5k a 10k a 16k and one…

Having serious motivational issues atm. Today was mean to be a long run (as I am drinking tonight). Eventually managed to get up and out on the basis that I would just do 5k but I was very close to not going. I think that I dont want to give the time to running that my ultimate goal of 39k a week would take. Anyway, I…

Whatever I have done I the last few months I seem to end up with about 13 runs and 100k. I put some draft runs into my diary and it gave a much bigger number than that or I could expect to do. So I am going to just to focus on this months main goal which is to run10k straight. Other goals are flexible. 1. Run 10k without…

Another 7k, one brief stop/walk due to stomach issues. Thats me done for the month, it looks like I have fallen short on my goals but doing 10 miles was always the main aim. So I am pretty ok with the month. Jan Goal: 1. Ttl 130km...............................103km 2. Long run10 miles...................16k ✔ 3. 17…

7k done, within 2secs of last weeks 7k. I do wish winter was over. Jan Goal: 1. Ttl 130km...............................96km 2. Long run10 miles...................16k ✔ 3. 17 runs....................................12 4. Help someone C25K.....run 3 - 1.30-2/1 (3.1k) 5. Strength training x14.............10 (i think)

14k last night. Fine until 11k but then I came out of my bubble and the last 3k was pretty hard. I am suffering with another cold, coughing up some stuff and have taken headache tablets this morning which is unusual for me. Jan Goal: 1. Ttl 130km...............................89km 2. Long run10 miles...................16k…

Out and about on Thursday evening, eventually sat down at 8.45pm and watched the clock tick by until it was too late to go out. 6k Saturday, felt a bit like hard work. I am coming down with another bug. Which is three in two months. Should be a long run tonight. Jan Goal: 1. Ttl 130km...............................75km 2.…

I did eat and drink badly from Thursday-Sunday and did no exercise. It was great. Some strength training yesterday and back at the cardio today. 7k done with no interval which I think is the longest I have run without a walk break. At the start of the year Feb's main goal was to do 10k without interval so I am well on the…

I have: 2 shirts 1 pair shorts 1 hoodie Half a dozen pairs of socks 2 pairs of trainers So there's a lot of extra washes in our house. I always struggle with motivation after hitting a big goal. Storm Brendan kept me in the house Tuesday night. Wednesday 6k, runners gut and a tightish hamstring (really lack of motivation)…

16k /10 miles done which is a new distance record, doing a comfortable 15mins run/1 min walk interval. During the last 1km I suddenly remembered that 16k isnt exactly 10miles so I slowed to a virtual standstill whilst I googled it. It did mean i got to celebrate twice though. Anyway this is more than a 10% increase for a…

5k this morning. The trainee came out again and after some arguing there was agreement that I was in the wrong so we did a mix of 1.30 and 2 mins to a 1min walk. I then did an extra 2km to finish off. Strange after what turned out to be a very slow 5k. I still feel as tired as normal. Missed a strength training session…

5k done. New shoes! Left leg felt a bit uncomfortable early on, slight pain on the outside (left hand side) of my leg around shin height. Now I am finished my left knee also feels a little bit 'tired'. So I am going to immediately jump to some conclusions. Its my shoes, I've wasted my money, I can't return them and my leg…

Thanks for advice @PastorVincent @rheddmobile @katharmonic @TheMrWobbly @quilteryoyo (i think thats everone who responded directly, sorry if I've missed someone) I have logged it because I did it, however poorly but if the run police call and I am going down, I am taking all of you with me. 6k without interval. No drama.…

So first the good news. The new recruit, my youngest and I all got up at silly O'clock and ran in the Jan cold. The new recruit did 3k in 1.30/1 intervals which was a real positive, particularly because they'd spent two days telling themselves going from 1min to 1.30 was impossible. Now what could have gone better. I did…

Early evening 5k, strange to have so many people out and about. I passed a group of teenagers hanging about - weird how my form and speed improved going by them. I would have never have gone out at such a busy time just a few months ago. Run was meant to be 1st thing this morning but the youngest wanted to go and I am not…

5k, half with a new recruit. Legs and hip in particular felt v.tired. I am not sure if this is due to the break or new stregnth training, I suppose I will see this weekend when I am meant to be hitting 14k. Jan Goal: 1. Ttl 130km...............................5km 2. Long run10 miles...................Not yet 3. 17…

10 days off for christmas due to sickness, back knack and 'makes drinky drinky motion'. Jan Goal: 1. 130km 2. 10 miles 3. 17runs 4. Help someone start C25K. 5. Strength training 3times a week

Meant to be a 5k shake the legs, chill run. I didnt want to do 2 laps of my normal route so I go down different roads trying to make up the difference. At 3k I am going too fast and might PB but just go with it. Then at 3.5k I am running out of road so I divert to the local park, which is a mud bath, I end up walking the…

I think there is a bit of an argument about how boxing day got started. But it started in the UK so inevitably it was a class thing. The gentry would give monies to the church for the poor/trades people and it was held in a box which would be opened on St stephens day. In my parents day, my dad always said it was 'the…

A niggling cough meant I was banished to the sofa around 4am. So a bad nights sleep and starting out around 90mins late I was off to do my longest run ever. 13k completed, slowly with a couple of extra walk breaks. My hips are bearing the brunt of the distance I need to do more (ok some) proper stretching. December goals:…

5k. Scene a semi lit room Enters Username 301 looking dreadful, exhausted. Picks up pen and scrawls semi legibly on paper. Collapses in a heap below camera view. Close up on paper, it reads: Things to never eat before a run. Jacket Potato The room goes dark accompanied only by Dry retching noises End scene December goals:…
