I ended up picking up a coffee grinder (burr type) and it works really well. I found Golden Flaxseed for 85 cents a pound at Winco. The have an awesome bulk goods section!

Yes, the 19/5 schedule works great for me. Hope it does the same for you!!! Welcome aboard!!!!

Yes, welcome to the dark side!!!!! I see many pounds/stones lost in your future! And the best part is that you won't be STARVING!!!! What a concept!!!! Thank you Dr. Atkins!!!!!
-
Sounds like she hit you pretty hard with her magic stick!!!!! LOL
-
Yeah, I like them, too. My only problem is its hard to just eat one. So, I hold off on buying a box and just buy the singles when they are at a good price.

Anyone here use vanilla flavoring instead of extract in their MIM recipe?

@1FitMom326 - Welcome aboard the IF boat!!! The waters may get choppy in the beginning but in the end you will enjoy the cruise and never want to get off. It sure does make eating a lot simpler and that also means better in my book.

1-2 lbs. per week is the recommended weight loss rate average. As the others have said you will find different ways that show that you are still on track whether its measured in inches or how a certain piece of clothing looks or feels on you. Stay motivated and expect that some weeks will show greater gains on the scale…

I mix my low carb diet with IF (intermittent fasting) so I workout (walks, dumbbells and body-weight) on an empty stomach all the time.
-
How did that work out for you?
-
Good job!!! Keep it going!!!! Anyone here use a coffee grinder to grind flaxseed into meal? Its almost half the price when you grind it yourself.
-
If you like to keep on eating while getting out of the relationship slump, try a low-carb diet. Eat as much as you want but without the sugar and starches.
-
The best part of losing weight using a low carb diet (and eventually lifestyle) is not having to STARVE EVER!!!!
-
Not only will you love and lose weight but your blood work should also improve!!!! The best part of is you don't have to starve!!!!!
-
Awesome!!! Good job!!!

I just keep away from the stuffing, pasta, rice and eat as low carb as I can. Holidays aren't a problem since there is usually enough vegetables, and meat dishes around. I might make Thanksgiving day a cheat day if I decide to have pumpkin pie. Either way its not a problem since I do give myself one cheat day a week and…

Check your local library for the book "The Paleo Solution: The Original Human Diet" by Robb Wolf. It has some interesting information.
-
Reading the book will be very helpful. Also if you can find either Gary Taubes' "Why We Get Fat and What To Do About It" or "Good Calories, Bad Calories" it will help explain the science behind it all. This makes it easier to ingrain the diet plan into your daily use.
-
I usually see weight gain after a cheat day. Water retention and carbs go hand in hand so expect a gain after cheating with carbs. Your metabolism is higher when you sleep. If your sleep is interrupted then it may impede weight loss. In a few days it will be gone.
-
Having you been doing more physical activity and how were you sleeping?
-
Welcome to you both. Just wondering what are you doing diet wise? Low cal, low fat, low carbs?
-
All the talk about MIM made me decide to give it a try. They turned out pretty good!

+1 on Gary Taubes' books. I have his "Good Calories Bad Calories" book and watch a few of his lectures on You Tube. Reading definitely will help keep you on track.

I'm more tired when I eat only if my carb intake is up (I'm on low carb). I'm on Fast-5 and loving it. Just don't forget to eat in the latter part of your feeding period so that it wont be as difficult when you are in the stretch. Really important the first week as you adjust to IF. I can definitely attribute faster weight…

Bump. I do net carbs.

I've do 19hr daily and do a 36-40hr fast when trying to hit a goal. I've found 19/5 to work real well with my schedule and I think that will be the most important criteria. I also use a low carb methodology to my diet. Its been working real well. I think it usually takes 8-12 hours for insulin levels to go down to the…

My average is 6.6 lbs. Broken down into weekly puts me at 1.65 lbs. per week. The recommended weight loss rate is 1-2 lbs. per week if I am correct.
-
Yes!! IF FTW!!!! On it for 5 months and loving it. Can't think of anyway of feeding from that moment on.

@shar140 - It happens at times. Its like anything else, you get bored of the scenery and look around. Stay on course but try something different. Do more chicken or turkey or more seafood.
