Oops. I only did 1x5 of DL. I wrote 5x5. @psych-rest up so you can come back better than ever! @canadian-even though you are working through knee issues, your workout is still impressive. What is gyoza? @jcdoerr-awesome workout! I would never survive in Texas heat. I like it around 50 degrees F. @fittree-you cannot be…

Wore my chucks today for workout B. Ithey really did make a difference. I felt better connected to the ground, if that makes sense. During DL. And, zero wobble in my squats. Each rep felt stable and solid. Will continue wearing them!

Today was workout B. Squat 80lbs 5x5 OHP 60lbs 5x5--not pretty and I needed 3 mins rest b/w sets, but I did it! Staying here next time. I want fractions/washers, but don't want to spend the money right now. We are going on vacation in 3 weeks, plus all of the back to school stuff that needs to be bought. DL 105lbs 5x5 Now…

I'm guessing that the flatter sole of the chucks or zero sole if barefoot helps you push better? I lift in my garage, so I need to wear something because I often find tiny screws, nails, etc on the ground and worry that I'll step on something. I've just been wearing my regular sneakers. When my husband lifts in there at…

Tonight was the first time I went into doing SLs with really sore legs. I did a PiYo DVD yesterday. The outer area under the bum is super sore (do not know what is is called other than my nemesis) thanks to the curtsey lunges and all of the one-legged balance work. This is good-I'm bottom-heavy and have always had a lil'…

I wish that there was a "LIKE" button for statements like these. Parents working out at same gym as their adult children, asking questions about lifting, and possibly even open TO lifting.

I started doing the Chaleene DVDs this week. I like it because it is not your typical yoga or Pilates. It moves quickly. I'm not doing this exclusively, though. I do stronglifts 3 times per week, walk, and ride my bike. I wanted to add in something for flexibility purposes, and the Chaleene DVDs appealed to me more than…

Depends on what equipment you have at home. Can do intervals on treadmill, bike, elliptical. Can go outside and do intervals-running, skipping, hopping, hills. If you have a bike, go ride it-fast and hard for a little, then recover-intervals. If you only exercise indoors at home, you can run stairs, punch, kick, jump rope,…

Workout B for me today. Squat 70lbs 5x5 OHP 55lbs 5x5--Going to need to get either fractionals or washers before Sunday. 60 will be tough to get up. DL 95lbs 5x5

Bumping this to have that formula handy. Thanks.

First workout of the month. I'm really starting to enjoy this. I missed it Friday and yesterday. Workout A Squat 65 lbs 5x5 Bench 55 lbs 5x5 Row 55 lbs 5x5 Then I foam rolled for the first time. It was completely horrible at first, I was whimpering in pain at one point- my husband walked in, looked at me and left. Then I…

Still new to all of this-I know my goals will seem rudimentary but I figure one meal at a time, one workout at a time. Complete all SLs workouts this month. At least 3 cardio workouts per week. Walking and bike riding. I also joined a PiYo fusion group challenge on here, so at least 1 PiYo video per week (secret goal is to…

This sounds delicious. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this. This is very useful information.

I have been making overnight crockpot steel-cut oats w/ almond milk. In the am, I add lite pancake syrup for that maple flavor. But, this sounds much better!

Lots of awesome lifting going on. Plus--working out in silk blouses and crazy a** handstands. You are all inspiring! Workout B Squats 60lbs 5x5--first day that this didn't feel completely horrible (it only half-sucked). Hubz said I had a little wobble coming up during the 1st set. He had me turn my toes out a little bit…

More amazing transformations! @katro-you look wonderful, and this is only since February? @mymodern-huge difference, and yay for the bikini-wear it proudly on your vacation! Women are amazing. We can give birth, balance a ton of responsibilities and still rock awesome bodies. @psych and @massage-both of you look entirely…

Hi there. I'm also new to SLs. Tomorrow will be only my 4th workout. I was very intimidated to start a progressive lifting program; I've only ever really done machines, weights in exercise classes, and occasional weights with my hubby. And, none of that ever lasted more than a few months at a time. I'm doing this for me. I…

Gen2703-Amazing transformation!

All of your workouts are impressive and intimidating--I need to actually look up some of what you are doing since I don't know what it is. I can safely say I think I will enjoy regular lifting. Last night, I reviewed some form videos before bed and wrote out my workout for today. I felt like a "real lifter." After work…

Both of you have had excellent results! You both look so much more confident in your after photos. @sure, I'm 5'2" and started at 175. I'm a lot more bottom-heavy than you, with little on the top. Seeing another shortie who looks fit and healthy and isn't 100lbs is refreshing. @krok--that bicep! You look like a completely…

Great...guess I might as well move into the garage then since it takes me so long!

Thanks

Hello, I'm new to SLs and this is my first time posting my workout here. Today I completed my 2nd SL workout. I was supposed to do it yesterday, but got caught up reading information and becoming more familiar with acronyms and the MFP site in general. Floored by how much useful information exists on here. Workout B: Squat…

I appreciate all of your warm welcomes and kind words. I wasn't sure what to expect when I sent out my introduction message. I will admit that I am pleasantly surprised by the kindness of strangers. To take time out of your day to respond and provide information to someone you don't know in real life speaks to your…

Hi. My name is Alexis and I'm from PA. I joined this group for motivation and accountability. I'm just beginning my weight loss, and have 45 lbs to lose to be a healthy weight for my height. I enjoy reading, spending time in my garden, and spending time with my nieces and nephews.

Thanks for the welcome. I sent you a request. I'm not sure what "diary is open" means, or if mine is open? Anyway, thanks again.
