I just wanted to drop in and say that you are all doing amazing!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! You got there in the nick of time!

I agree with everyone else, form first. Deload down to the bar (even if it feels too easy), work on getting down low. If it is too difficult to maintin proper form with the barbell on your back, ditch the barbell. Work on getting low enough with your bodyweight first. Then you can try goblet squats or maybe even front…

Yes, please post photos of your gym. I like seeing everyone's set ups-gives me tons of ideas. My husband has finally agreed to move all of our stuff from the garage into the basement. No small feat, I will give him that.

What you have outlined, sounds awesome! It sounds like a good, solid plan. I walk a lot, do some cardio DVDs, incline walk on the treadmill, ride my bike, and try to do a PiYo or Yoga workout once per week. I think that you will find that everyone is different. That 200 mile relay sounds like an all-day event. Do you do…

Today was my preggo lift B day. Everything felt heavy, so I deloaded a bit more. Workout itself went well after I lightened things up. DL 85 3x10 OHP 45 3x10 Then, inspired by something I read yesterday (thanks krokador), I used a 20 lb kettlebell and did 2rounds of: 20 swings, 10 one-armed upright row each arm, 10 goblet…

I workout at home. I'm still lifting-just not as heavy. I was doing SLs 5x5 prior to finding out I was pregnant and had gotten to a point where every lift was very challenging. I loved it and didn't want to give it up. My Dr told me that I can continue to lift, just no more pushing the strength gains and to work in the…

Last night we were at Wal-Mart, we were getting dog food. We buy the big bag-maybe 25lbs? I grabbed it and was walking to the cart. DH says "ohh, let me get that, you're pregnant." I glared at him and refused to put it in the cart. Said "I will CARRY this to the checkout." He SAW my lifts the other day. What makes him…

Wide awake since 3am-ish. Why is it that workplaces frown upon naps? Because by 11am, I will be needing one. Going to be a long day. Preggo Lift B OHP 50lbs, 3x10 DL 95lbs, 3x10--hands completely tore up. May look into gloves since my skin seems to be really sensitive atm. Accessories-goblet squat 25lb, 3x10. Plank hold 30…

Honestly, talk with your Dr. People can tell you what they are doing (some are following their Dr's advice, others are following info they have found on the internet). Your Dr should be able to guide you. Since you are already pregnant, it is too late to worry about your weight. Concentrate on nutrition and if your Dr…

We'll see how dedicated I remain as I get bigger! Hopefully I won't feel too awful. I am already envious of everyone's lifts. I find it so empowering to see so many women lifting heavy.

Today was first lifting since I was given Obgyn orders of no more SLs-does not want me focusing on strength gains or pushing weight that I can only do for 5 reps. Wants me to work on my endurance. For now, Dr prefers me to work in the 10-12 rep range. Later on, as I get bigger, if I'm still able to lift, Dr prefers the 15…

^^^this. I had gotten to this point myself at the end of August and had DH hide the scale. I was more empowered by lifting the actual weight than being obsessed with the scale. I suspect that most women who fall in love with lifting come to this realization at some point. It is way too early in the morning for me to…

Sounds good! Thanks for sharing!

Well, you are a very attractive woman, that is evident from your avatar. They see it, and send the request. I haven't gotten any weirdo requests, but my avatar is currently a chubby Panda. Plus, you are very nice. If people read your postings in the general forums, some probably do want to be friends for good reasons. But…

Everyone is killing it lately--including @massage97's baby--HE DOES PULLUPS! Seriously though, every time I come into this thread to post and peek around, I am inspired by what all of you do. The weights alone are impressive, but I know everyone has busy schedules, families, obligations, jobs, school, and "life issues"…

I'm new to trying to be a runner. When I started out, I was wearing my Granny-style walking sneakers. Then an awesome MFP'r and runner recommended I actually go to a running store and get fitted. I did just that and have been happy with my sneakers. Jogging for more than 2 minutes is still hard, but becomming more…

Don't be so hard on yourself. You are starting something new, and that's awesome in itself. Like anything, you will get better the more you do it. Practice with body weight and a box or bench. Many on here have used goblet squats to help them as well. there are all kinds of things you can do to help you get lower while…

I was sore when I first started. And, yesterday after taking a week off and lifting again this past Sunday.

"Totally the opposite of exercise" made me snort out my water! You will get back to it tomorrow. Today was first post-vacay workout. Haven't lifted in a week. I was active on vacation, but definitely ate way too much. I didn't log, but tried to make decent choices. I had an Ice cream cone every day. And of course, southern…

Met some of my August goals-completed every scheduled SLs workout. Posted in forums and interacted with mfp members daily, logged consistently. Almost met my cardio and flexibility goals-the last 2 weeks got screwed up because of some family medical stuff. Overall, I'm pleased with my month. Particularly with my lifting. I…

Why not try TDEE- anywhere from 15-17%? Those extra calories may give you just enough to push through your harder lifts. Also, from your avatar, you appear slim already. Maybe TDEE-20% is a bit too aggressive for you? (Says the woman who has not eaten the correct amount in days).

Workout A tonight Squat 115 lbs 5x5 Bench 90 lbs 5x5 Row 90 lbs 5x5-definitely going to have trouble with 95 next workout. I am expecting to fail on at least some of the reps. I am planning to do "A" on Tuesday. I am going to get a day pass for a gym where we will be vacationing. Not looking forward to struggling with…

Like suremeansyes, I don't stretch before lifting. I may do some dynamic stretching if I've been sitting for awhile or on the mornings I work out first thing. I foam roll afterwards and that is sufficient for me on lifting days. On cardio days, I always do static stretching afterwards and follow that with foam rolling.

I lift alone about 50% of the time. Good, solid advice. Thanks for sharing.

A few weeks ago someone recommended progressions when I wondered if I would ever be able to perform the super-awesome exercises some of the women here perform. I would think that the same logic applies to you integrating squats, while minding your shoulder. Start with bodyweight--aim for 5x5, and maybe scale back on the…
