Thanks everyone. She is a black lab named Missy so I am thinking Miss Maple then Maple to keep it an easy transition for her. She is from a shelter in SC where her days were numbered. She will not be here until the 18th. They are spaying her before she comes North. But she looks so much like our last one it is amazing. Not…

Happy Tuesday everyone. Alf - nice vacation pix Larro _ I have to wait for snow to melt before I can plant but I am ready. Should start seeds in the house soon. Stephanie - My ambitions often exceed my energy. The puppy will guarantee I at least do some walking every day (can you tell I'm excited about the puppy!!!)…

Yeah. I will have a new source of exercise on Sunday! We're adopting a 9 month old lab from a lab rescue! Some may remember our sweet lab passed away at Thanksgiving so I am looking forward to a new furry friend and the kids will be over the moon too!

AllenPriest - Condolences. It has been a tough spring. We lost my father in law and a close aunt since January. NSV 8 day streak. Slowly getting back. You know it is bad when you get winded in the warmup. I have been unhappy with the creep of the scale so trying to get back on a program. Lovely pictures all. KS - Take care…

Working from home. I am so productive. I love to get an early start and take quick breaks to throw on laundry. Have to rescue daughter in a bit - forgotten recorder for music - the horror LOL. We bought a new truck and are trying to adopt a puppy dog. Today is sunny and still cold but I defintely feel springy! Tons of…

Back after a few weeks hiatus. Started a new job Monday after ending the old one so it is has been full speed ahead for the last 2 weeks. I am doing terribly (+2.5 lbs) and just not moving. This job is much more sedentary than even my last desk job (such a small place there is no where to walk around). The area is kind of…

Happy Friday! Lovely sunny (cold 4F this morning) day. I have 1 week left at this job and then on to new challenges. Feels quite unbelievable. New place has lots of 'snacks' so I am a bit worried. Have had some snow melt this week, actually can see wood on my deck in 2 places and concrete on parts of my driveway. Wondering…

I'm back! Missed 143 posts so it will take a while to catch up. Was on vacation in Palm Beach FL (so nice after the New England deep freeze). My father was in for a biopsy on a massive tumor when we arrived. So far, it is coming back precancerous but he'd fragile so no slam dunk. Hoping my kids don't have to bury another…

I just caught up with y'all so busy! We've had water leaking from snow on the roof so MFP and other things were on hold. The snow in my front yard is chest deep. I am 5'4" and had to wade in to use a borrowed roof rake to relieve the roof. My husband was up top shoveling off the back roof. We seem to have halted the leaks…

Snow days and super bowl party - up 2.5 pounds UGH! You'd think all the shoveling and carrying children would help. But work brought in pizza for the brave few yesterday and here I am. Snow was over top of my boots leaving the office yesterday (approx 1 foot since I had gotten in) - got stuck getting in the driveway. We're…

Day 2 of snowmageddon - 33 record breaking not since 1888 inches of white stuff. Of course work deadlines don't know that. Arghh. DD has been home 6 days with Flu and then snow. We all need to get out. Played out a bit yesterday but was super cold and so much fluffy sleds sank. Had to snow shoe a sled track  Snack…

We had 19 inches of snow @ 8a this morning. Lovely morning home with the family. More snow continues to fall. Big breakfast so no IF today.

Hey all made it through my first weekend day of IF. Thought I might cave around kids this morning but just had a cup of tea. Good thing too. Made cinnamon rolls last night and turns out (using recipe calculator thing) they are A LOT of calories (more than I guessed). Then a long round of snowshoeing and snow play with the…

Hey Larro - I'm working it. Trying the 16x8 intermittent fast thing. First day has been pretty easy. Trying to find something I can stick to. I figure if I limit eating to just 8 hours of the day, it will make staying in goals easier at any rate because it by nature limits my snacking hours. Seems easier than the 5x2…

Great job.

Happy belated birthday Larro! Positive vibes to all!
-
what is 16:8? Edit: I found it on that link. Very good read. Thank you!

Larro How did you do the 5-2 fast thing to start out. I made it to 14 or 15 hours on the fast. But the first thing I ate triggered massive hunger. No way I am going to make it with only 500 calories for the day. Was looking for something to shake things up but not sure this is going to do it for me. KS - thinking of you…

Hi all. Back for another Day 1. Been in the -20 to -30 F with the windchill last 2 days. Have been MIA for a week as we had a death in the immediate family and it has been a rough week. I'll be happy enough to just get logging in this weekend. I hit the comfort food buffet pretty hard yesterday after the funeral.

Welcome all and hello regulars. Great loss ketorach. I didn't manage that but I am 1.5 off my pre-Christmas low. So a couple of good days will do it. We're going to an indoor water park on New Years so I'll get loads of exercise and fun in with the 3 munchkins. For now, trying to get work done but it is hard not to be…

Merry Christmas - happy holidays and enjoy any time off. I am so off my calories. Will have to get back to it Friday. Just trying to track accurately to slow myself down. Wishing you more self control than I seem to be showing. Looking forward to a very long night of wrapping and food prep and then a happy 4 day weekend…

welcome Laramom. I have a 9.5 8 and 4.5 and I work as an engineer sitting most of the day. I have yet to hit 10k steps unless on vacation. It is hard when you sit to work and commute. Great goals!

Curious (I think it was you) thank you. We're adjusting to no dog. Planning to start looking after February vacation. We're going to FL for a few days to see my Dad so DH wants to wait until then. It is so weird. We still have her water dish full in the kitchen. Coming home the house feels empty after 15.75 years with my…

KS - Awesome numbers, kindness to that family and progress clearing away the clutter! High Five! I am happily down 3 pounds of bloat from the high after Thanksgiving. Makes me have hope I can stay on track for the Holidays. If I can just maintain this number 162 into January I'll be happy to push for a loss in the new…

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. We're all adjusting to coming home to an empty house. We'll let a new friend in soon. Hubs has a hard time even considering that but soon... Mz - great job on the workout. I swam 14 laps this morning. Not as much as I like to do but easing back in a bit to prevent injury. Beeps and Caramel…

Hello all. Sorry I've been MIA. I lost power in the storm. Generator broke. Snowblower broke. I had to schlep half done Turkey and trimmings to MIL's and finish there. It was still a nice meal if fragmented. Dog passed away Saturday night at 15.75 years - a good long life for a black lab but still tough with the kids. Came…

Thanks for all the encouragement. On calorie track and walked 2 miles in the toasty 45 degrees (much warmer than yesterday - actually broke a sweat). Larro I have yet to have a day where getting calories in was a problem
-
have fun beeps! Still on track with my calories. Yeah!

Hi all Carlos - hope she gets home soon. KS - Again?!? You must be exhausted from the ups and downs. Glad you got a workout in before it all crashed on you. Larro - Hope you found something good for dinner. Caramel - Hang in there. We know how you feel. Ruby - Enjoy the game! Everyone else just do your very best to make it…

Welcome Mzklutch! I try to find an item as close to what I am getting as possible. Another restaurant slice of pizza or chicken dinner. I sometimes google the item and find another site that has calculated the calories for that restaurant and do quick add calories. Just do your best. I am home again with sick kiddo so wish…
