Rest days are very important. And those are the days, at least for me, that I seem to drop the water weight retained from exercising and see scale losses even while eating at my cut. I have two rest days in a row on the weekend and I CAN say that I was itching to do something yesterday. However....that just meant that I…

I'm in too! I just stuffed mine in the closet!

I second the pool as a first option because of the minimal stress on joints and then once you feel strong enough, Leslie Sansone dvd's are a great option because the routines are completely easy to modify for beginners.

Va Va Voom! You look amazing and have a killer figure!

I think the issue with too much cardio is all the extra calories you end up having to eat to stay above BMR and NOT eat up muscle mass if you are trying to build muscle with weight training. Am I right? Somebody else back me up if I am.

Kiki, thank you for your answer. It was information that I wanted and needed and was delivered in the wonderfully thoughtful and constructive way that you always manage. I truly appreciate it. A few of the previous posters weren't very nice. Since when does eating 2,000 cals a day qualify me as pro ana? A few of you made…

I don't know my actual bf%, but online calcs have it pretty high based on just simple measurements alone. An actual test might show a different number (I might cave and buy calipers). For now, I am not going to worry about it too much as I just want to get the fat off (priority #1!)....if I bulk up at first, then so be it.…

Thank you so much! I figure with my cardio and running up and down the stairs here at home all day, they are getting enough of a workout as it is. I'll focus on upper body then....I'll admit that's where I am super weak. Legs....not....I can easily do over 20 squats with hubby on my back and he weighs 200 pounds. This make…

So strictly cardio, but not intense and no weight training. If I am only wanting to de-bulk my legs, can I still weight train upper body? I used to be a sprinter.......so I very very quickly develop legs that look like pile drivers (yes, I am one of THOSE unfortunate women). Will body weight training on the lower half…

Me too! Me too! It sucks. I have one pair of pants I can wear out of the house.....2 pairs of leggings for working out in the house (but the waist bands keep sliding down while the rest stays put).....and about 2 shirts I can wear out of the house and 2 tanks for working out in. Everything else is either too small or too…

I use Bob's Red Mill Whey Protein Concentrate. Mainly because it was one of the "cleanest" powders I could find with only 2 ingredients, but the flavor is practically non-existent which would make it great for adding to recipes.

We've got four...two pairs of sisters. Terra is a torbico {not too common according to the vet}....the queen or so she thinks. Lily is a torbie {very common according to the vet}....our "mom to all", but skittish as heck. Sundae is a piebald that looks like Charlie Chaplin, but we named her after ice cream....this cat…

Are you sure you had your TDEE figured correctly the first time?

I think everyone has their own personal definition of clean...what personally works for them. For one person, this might be eating 100% organic. For someone else, avoiding chemical additives. For someone else, avoiding any manufactured foods at all. For me personally, I try to avoid as many chemicals, additives, artificial…

It made a difference for me. We chose, as a family, to start eating clean at the beginning of April. I won't lie....we did it cold turkey and the first two weeks were a bit rough......mainly because I sat around sweating like a pig for no apparent reason (at this point I will chalk it up to some sort of detox) when I…

*When you are out grocery shopping, with a fully loaded cart, and your pants start to flap in the breeze and then proceed with a downward shimmy to land dangerously low on your hips, just a hair's breadth away from public embarrassment. (If you can't tell, I need new clothes.   ) *People do a triple…

I concur with listabit...you might need to eat even more than you think.

LMBO! Bet he felt pretty...uh...dumb for handing out advice. Congrats on the dropping numbers though! It excites me even more every time I read about a success with EM2WL!

Adore quinoa...and my kids scarf it up like it's candy. We like it hot as a side like rice.....made with homemade chicken stock....hubby and the boys top theirs with sour cream and hot sauce.

My old WW tools are still sitting on top of the microwave gathering dust where they have been for the last two years.....I think I will keep them for now.....kind of a shrine for the "NEVER AGAIN". Big reminder that I don't have to starve to death. One of these days, I will toss them, but not just yet.
-
Bwahahaha! Never....although I try valiantly ever day. My diary is open to friends only....so, friend me lol! However, you'll have to ignore my past entries because I just changed my cal goals tonight from BMR up to TDEE cut (grocery shopping tomorrow..........note to self: don't jump into things that involve food in the…

I think I will just chalk it up to less protein = less processed and altered. That's just fine with me. I am hoping to only rely on this (Bob's) if I am having a really hard time getting anywhere near my macros on a given day....and hoping to not have to use more than one, or two at most, servings when I do.
-
Do this for a few weeks (2 minimum).....if still no change, up them again.....just keep doing that until you start seeing results.
-
And I would have to eat the new macro after adding exercise since I am only set at BMR right now (yes, I have food money issues) in order to make sure I net my BMR. Depends on how each person is set up.
-
I completely agree with this. I think it would be entirely possible to put together two people who are the same weight, have the same BMR/TDEE, etc.......and have one who can lose like crazy on 40/30/30, while the other might gain at those settings and need to adjust their macros for higher protein or fats. Everybody is…
-
Ditto!
-
Ladyace - would it help if I told you that I purposefully shifted my macros to 30c/35p/35f because I historically do better on a higher protein ratio. I could have gone 30/40/30, but that would mean even more protein...and well..yikes! lol So...my awesome hubby drove me around (his car doesn't suck up as much gas as mine)…
-
Rebeka - sure sweetie! Send me a PM! :flowerforyou: Ladyace - I'm way up there weight wise (take a peek at my ticker).....170g of protein a day isn't even me eating at TDEE or TDEE cut either....that's only at BMR. Thank goodness the numbers will drop eventually....right now I keep having this mental image of plopping an…
