Looking for new weight loss buddies/motivators!
Hi there. I've been on MFP for a few years now. I had lost about 90 pounds over the course of a year and a half, but then life got crazy last fall and I've gained back some 30 odd pounds of that since then. I logged in every day, but hadn't necessarily logged food over a 10 month period. Life is continuing to explode, so I…

New to group and looking for friends
I'm gluten free recently plus am exploring traditional food preparation and cooking methods (I can finally have oatmeal again without a stomach ache). After going gf for a few months and then adding it back in small amounts, I can say that it is definitely tied to some of my health issues. This little experiment culminated…

Looking for supportive friends with 50+ to lose
Hi there. I've been quietly losing by myself over here and have knocked off 55 pounds already. Really as a side effect of my diet. Due to Meniere's disease, I have to keep my salt about the same amount every day and my sugar low, so once I have reached those limits, I'm usually at a caloric deficit. I do make an effort to…

Looking for friends who eat 1500+ calories or more
I'd love to have more friends who eat a minimum of 1500 calories whether you are actively losing, maintaining, or gaining. I would love to have more friends who fuel their workouts and days. Feel free to add me!

I'd love a few EM2WL friends who can understand my limitations
Hi there. It's been a few years since I visited the EM2WL forum. I miss it. I've been quietly losing by myself over here and have knocked off 55 pounds already. Really as a side effect of my diet. Due to Meniere's disease, I have to keep my salt about the same amount every day and my sugar low, so once I have reached those…

I'd like more EM2WL friends!
I'd love some more like-minded friends! I lost 50 pounds during 2012, so this really truly DOES work! I'm ready to tackle the next 40 pounds in 2013....who would like to come along for the ride with me?

Totally confused myself...
I have my MFP set to active....which gives me 2700 in overall daily activity burn. I have fitbit linked and on average I burn about 2700 a day.....I am not doing anything more than making sure I walk enough to hit my 2700 burn for the day. So I am letting fitbit make the minor adjustments for me right now when I go over my…

Does the body "remember" dietary behaviors? Mine did.
If you were to fall back into a pattern of dietary behaviors that were "damaging" or "dysfunctional" previously, but at a more optimal nutritional level, would the body "remember" and fall back into it's old way of "dealing" with said behaviors. For example, if previously, you used to eat very little during the day and…

Gizmos, gadgets, and the fidgets.....
I am wondering..........are gadgets like the Fitbit Ultra and BMF so sensitive that doing something like fidgeting (and I mean serious fidgeting) in a chair while seated would seriously skew the data results? When I am not up and moving about, I am at my desk, in a chair, frequently bopping out to music....or fidgeting.…

Why the huge difference between calcs?
So....like most everyone else here, I use Scooby to get my numbers. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ So why are the numbers on this one so different? http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced If I used the numbers on this second one, my BMR would be lower and my TDEE (holy. crap.) is way…

Determining activity level based on calorie burns?
I have my activity level set to light on Scooby, 1-3 hours of light exercise. However.....I am still...uh....large, so my calorie burns are pretty darn high according to my HRM (and fairly accurate because I used several online calorie burn calculators to compare). I can easily blow through 500 cals in 30…

Intimidated...by 170 grams of protein....HELP!
What might 170 grams of protein per day look like? I am mind boggled at the thought of eating that much meat. There has to be an easier way to do it with out going over on my carbs/fats everyday (145 grams/75 grams). Any ideas of what 170 grams of protein a day COULD look like? (PS - my protein powder is 16g per 1/4 cup,…

Combining EM2WL with other methods?
Just wondering about applying "other" nutritional knowledge/approaches right along with the EM2WL method. I understand about everyone needing to personalize/tweak it for themselves, so I am still looking into all sorts of other nutritional methods and research, but will continue to "EM2WL" (no way in Hades am I willing to…

Question about BMR numbers and different calculators?
OK...so what IS the difference between the number that you get at Scooby's Workshop and the Katch-McArdle number that you get at Fat2FitRadio? The K-M number I get is wildly different than the Scooby number.....by almost 600 calories. Which is better and why?

Day 3....feeling...interesting...
So...three days in to upping my cals. First off....I'm not at a full reset because I haven't stalled on my weight loss at this point. I've gone from netting 1400 a day to my BMR of 1950 for starters. Eating a lot more food, but spreading it out over the day. I still feel overly full by the last meal of the day....kind of…

What qualifies as "light" exercise?
I guess I am asking this from more of a calorie burn perspective. Since I am still obese ( I really hate that word), I easily burn through 800+ cals an hour when doing cardio according to my HRM....and that's if I am not giving it 100% effort. I want to make sure that if I am going to calculate my cut, I am getting the…

New and need a few points of advice...
I feel awkward posting this, but..... :embarassed: :blushing: Ok...so...we've been eating clean for the last two months and absolutely LOVE it. I was concerned about whether I was getting proper nutrition, so I started logging food on MFP about a month in. Now that I've been reading, reading, and reading more in the…

Looking for organic whole food friends!
We, as a family, have recently gone organic whole food! I'd love to have some organic whole food friends. I have very little in the way of support here and even less support as far as the organics are concerned. I have a lot to lose and want to stay motivated! I'd love to be able to talk about organics and not feel like a…

Calorie goals...under and over questions..
Ok...so if I was under my calorie goals all during the weekdays (which is when I exercise), sometimes a few hundred calories under.....and then I go over a bit on the weekend days when I am not exercising, it's not going to affect anything as long as overall I am still maintaining a deficit, correct? We meal plan here so…

Homemade coconut milk - figuring nutrition info?
Does anyone know how to figure out the nutrition info for homemade coconut milk? I can't seem to find the info I need online. I am using 1 cup of unsweetened organic shredded coconut to 4 cups of hot water.......I'd also like the know the nutrition info for the left over pulp as I will be using that to make my own coconut…
