  • Um.. you just had a baby. Your body hasn't even completely recovered from that yet. However if you think about it it's all about how you feel and look. Personally I'd not care if I weighted 250 pounds if I were in perfect shape and looked like a god.
  • And I do still drink. I just count the calories in my vodka.
  • 500 is a good place to start. However I'd suggest trying to push further as you progress. Try adding 50 or 100 calories to that every week if you can. When I stated in January I was burning about 400 calories a day with a half hour workout three days a week. Now in June I'm pushing about 1200 on weekdays with an hour and a…
  • Please do make sure you selected "active" in your profile. Your starting calories should be a bit higher. Perhaps as hroush said trying for 1lb a week instead of two? I do strongly agree with the HRM idea. It really is amazing what one it can do for the psyche. I have use mine to compete against my previous workouts as…
  • You just have to change your expectations. Instead of a quick fix, you are going for a permanent change. If you loose a pound every week or two you are doing fine, You didn't put it all on at once either. For me it's about loving the progress, every day I am better than the day before. That's enough for me. I've never been…
  • Use the rescue inhaler first. Also if you are having more problems running slow it is usually a posture problem. Shoulder back, back straight, neck straight. It helps open the breathing passages and allows for more air to the lungs. Slouching also constricts the lungs themselves and sometimes stresses the heart more.
  • fantastic on the half marathon half marathon! There is a great range of upper body exercise you can do either with or without weights. also there are quite a few cardio machines that have little or no impact on the feet.
  • For me, none. Maybe one or two while writing the check for the guy that takes care of that,.
  • Best way to fix them is to build up the muscles beneath. You can't just remove fat from one area but you can stretch the area with muscle and make it taut. Most of those areas are target-able with abdominal exercises.
  • Honestly, I'd say when you're full stop eating.
  • Drumsticks ice cream. Alcoholic beverages. As long as I moderate and burn enough to earn them I seem to be doing okay.
  • Looks like someone is trying to sell a movie to me. That the FDA forces you to properly test a substance before pumping it into a human is not really a bad thing.
  • calisthenics are what the military does in the mornings. It's typically cardio style workouts without weights or machines. Crunches, pushups, jumping jacks, planks, pullups.
  • You can weigh or look like anything yo want. Still everyone; female, male, curiously gendered, deals with the same thing approaching 40. The body realizes it's no longer creating a human and goes into a holding pattern. The metabolism slows and it becomes easier to pack on weight. Maintaining a healthy diet and excising…
  • Welcome, we're glad you came and I'm sure you will be as well. I also enjoy the exercise = more food thing. It works pretty well as long as I remember to make better choices for food than cake or vodka.
  • That Irish guy in that one movie.
  • that works if you are trying to loose water weight before weighing in for a boxing or martial arts match. However it's the cardio and muscle effort that makes a difference in fitness. What you sweat out is salt and water that really need to be put back.
  • you missed my favorite source of potassium, Coffee!
  • For what it's worth, Vodka water with lime is what I do. It's your birthday. Go. have fun. One day of being exceptionally bad will not do anything serious to your long term weight loss (barring pregnancy anyway) so don't worry about it. That said this is the major problem with drinking and fat loss: In order to properly…
  • Making food yourself (as opposed to the box from the freezer) is generally cheaper than buying prepackaged foods and almost always healthier. For instance a bag of flour and some baking powder can make a dozens of pancakes (not that pancakes will help you loose weight) for less than the box of 5 cakes in the frozen food…
  • When eating out I generally go for the weight conscious section of the menu. If I need more bulk I wait till I'm home where I know what's in everything. For bike riding, get a GPS cycling program for you phone if you have a iPhone or Android or a GPS watch. They track your rout and how long it took you. Then you can…
  • Hi nora_kay, I live in the Hurst area also. I'm not a woman and you can go ahead and stay married, but you can add me to your friends if you like.
  • Welcome. Students eat these days? request sent.
  • Ditto. I've been sent to shoot about 6 events so far. Love it.

  • Yum! Fries! Now go work them offf
  • Fantastic! The exercise equipment is there for people who want to exercise. That's why you're there so have at it.
  • Exactly the way I feel.
  • MPF is a pretty general number. If your elliptical takes your pulse and lets you enter your age and weight it is probably pretty accurate. That said, my elliptical is always about 33% higher than it should be compared to a bio-harness readout or even an heart rate monitor. You could use either number and just keep track of…
  • Welcome! If I may suggest work hard, set goals and go past them every time. However, try to make a more gradual change that you can permanently incorporate into your life style. I too often see friends make too drastic and sudden a change, resent it after a couple months and just give up. Creating a new body requires a new…

  • You can eat back your exercise calories, and you will still loose weight. Pay attention however to the other totals as well. Try not to go over on fat or cholesterol or any of the other nasty foodstuffs. The idea is to eat your burn back in GOOD foods. Think of is as working off the junk that got you over weight and…
