Well I did manage to finish the run. Had some awful leg cramps around mile 9 and had to walk more than I had hoped. It was a really small race that wasn't managed well at all. The water stations were almost all out of water. There were 77 people running and I came in 71. Five people dropped out at various points so I came…

Congratulations! That is an amazing accomplishment and you have earned every bit of it.

Lise- running is so addictive. I started with the dream of doing a 5k in September. I started with running barely a block. Saturday I was up to running 12 miles! I always thought runners were a certain type of strange but now I kind of get it. I even signed up for a half marathon relay in august and a half marathon in late…

Isn't it odd to have worked for something so hard and not get the results you dreamed of? I have also lost 125 lbs and have lots of saggy skin. It's weird how I weigh less than I did when I was younger and was fairly confident in my body.. but I too struggle with the way my new body looks. I have excess skin on my arms,…

I have been a diet pepsi drinker since I was about 16 and I don't think I have any effects from the artificial sweetener in that. I know there are a lot of people that will say the soda is bad for weightloss but I think since I have lost this much weight while still enjoying it I am just going to keep with it. I think it…

Wow, that is amazing progress. Awesome job so far!

The boys do pretty much fend for themselves but they got spoiled with having school lunch handed to them on a platter with no work involved. Pizza, chicken nuggets, burgers...etc. There is plenty of stuff here they just aren't exactly thrilled with my choices for meals and I can understand that. They are all very active…

I love that first wall art Lise..we have a very similar wall hanging. I am sorry your husband can't make it on Saturday. I am sure we will all be thinking of you and wishing you well that day. Moving can make even the most even tempered person grumpy and short tempered hopefully it will pass soon and everything will start…

Yup its the season for grad parties and we have been busy with them as well. Do you have a set time of day you like to exercise? I have found I prefer to go in the mornings and I won't let myself do anything fun until I am done. Its good to set up a schedule that way you always know what to expect.

Did you make it to the gym yesterday? I know it won't be easy but you can do this!

It is all one day at a time some days even just one hour at a time. I started this last time in March of 2014 at 292 lb and 5'3". Today I am around 170 lb. I know things come up and make it darn near impossible to keep going but I have learned that I just have to keep pushing through it. You will be hungry at first until…

Cari- congrats on the one month anniversary. Carly - awesome on the jeans. I have a pair of jeans that actually make my butt look like I have one but the muffin top thing...I have to be in the right mood to wear them. Lise- wow. I hope the rest of your move goes better. Today I am celebrating my son's 8th grade graduation…

Hi Tia! I'm Wendy,39 year old stay at home mom of 5 boys from WI. I started officially at 292 but recently found medical records of 298. That was a year ago in March. Now I am down to 172. This isn't easy and there will be times you want to quit. DON'T. Even if the scale isn't moving you are still getting healthier. My…

I am afraid that those thoughts of being the fattest one around will never leave. I know in my logical brain that the 120 lbs had to have gone somewhere and that there are a lot of people bigger than me but I still see myself as that much bigger person. A lot of people comment on the weightloss and even my husband and kids…

I have never tried yoga...might have to try that to get through this current plateau. I am not a fan of shakes, mostly because of the taste and because I tried them so many times with only short term success. Did you regain the weight when circumstances changed? I have lost 120 lbs and have been maintaining there pretty…
-
Well that gives you something to look forward to in 6 months. Did you maintain the 95 lb losses or have you lost roughly the same 95 lbs twice? I am just wondering. Do you mind if I ask how you lost the weight the other times? I know life has a tendency to get in the way and set us back.

I am looking forward to finishing my first 5K race on the 30th. Not really setting any expectations as far as speed but I am just going to be happy to finish it. After watching the marathon and all the different types of people that participated I know I won't be the only less than prime running specimen out there but…

Cari, love the attitude. I know how frustrating slow losing can be. I have only lost about 15 lbs in the last 5 months. I've been taking two sets of pictures when I take them. One in the original clothing to show the change in fit and one in a more form fitting outfit. I still don’t see a change in any of them but…

lol just realized I put the wrong date on this when I started it yesterday. Hubby has decided he is going to show off and do the full half marathon by himself so I have talked one of the boys into being my partner for the relay. And then two more of the boys want to do the relay too so we will have two relay teams plus a…

Awesome job Pat on the new/old clothes. My one day pile is gone so I am going to have to go shopping for a summer wardrobe.

Sounds like it was a win/win on the massage Carly! Glad to hear about his new job and hopefully after a little adjustment period it won't be so painful.
-
Awesome! I remember the feeling when I first saw that on the scale...no feeling quite like it.
-
Hmm, I am not sure how to answer this since there is a whole lot of reasons. I started because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired all the time. After breaking my ankle and not being able to walk for 6 weeks in large part due to my size I never want to be in that position again. As time has passed since I started…

Cari- I hope you can find a way to stop the cycling and yeah for good influences! Carly-my caffeine consumption has been a bit out of hand lately so I kind of need to try to back off on that. I really don't like chewing gum. I use it when I am baking so I don't get as tempted to sneak a taste. I guess I am weird though…

I agree with what you are saying and this is the first time I have even really thought of a goal and it was only five measly pounds and I had given myself 2 months to do it. I figured 120 lbs in a year, 5 lbs in 2 months should be easy. NOT. I know no one else would even notice 5 lbs lost at my weight so it was just about…

Nothing seriously hurt just my pride. I have done measurements but it is so hard to know if I am doing them the exact same every time or not. I have only lost minimal numbers on waist, hips and thighs in the last three months. I have noticed more muscle in my calves but I don't measure them. Someone commented that it looks…

Awesome reasons to celebrate everyone. I woke up in a crappy mood this morning and it just went downhill from there. The weather is cold, muddy and rainy, I slipped on the trail and slid down the hill on my butt so I got to finish my run looking like I had an accident, my local store stopped carrying my favorite rice…

One day at a time. You can do this!
