The fact that you are still here a year later and have made progress is all that matters!

Stress is number one reason I go off plan. I get so wound up over certain things that I don't have time to worry about healthy decisions. I always get my exercise in since it helps me deal but the food is my issue.

"ok to eat" is such a personal thing depending on what you are looking for in the way of your eating goals. My husband eats dreamfields pasta or some of the other lower carb ones. I on the other hand prefer spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles with meatsauce.

That is awesome to hear! I have been reading your posts but I don't comment just because I can't really say that I know how you feel. I suffer from depression and anxiety but that seems so minor compared to what you are dealing with. I hope you have finally found a medicine/therapy that works for you and your family. I saw…

Getting nowhere is better than going backwards! Glad you got the health crap figured out. This group was a great support early on and I am kind of sad to see it has dropped off. :'(

I have mixed feelings on the whole surgery thing so what I have lost was lost on my own and with the help of myfitnesspal. Start with small changes. Changing one thing at a time until you have the hang of it and then change another. It will be more likely to stick. good luck I know you can do this!

As upsetting as the diagnosis may be at least you have a definitive answer now and it should help with treatment options. I am glad to see you back on the board. I miss seeing your posts about lifting heavy things :). Little changes can still have big successes so starting small is a great idea especially with everything…

Hmm, clothing might be tricky since a lot of clothes even in the same size fit differently so I would be afraid it not fit right if not tried on before. Does she wear a specific perfume? New earrings or some small jewelry might be less risky?

I check this group every few days to see if there is anything new and every once in awhile try to start a conversation but it always tends to fizzle out. Makes me kind of sad since this group was a big motivator for me. I guess maybe I don't belong in this group anymore but I still relate to everyone and the struggles that…

Ok that is a good start but a lot of times the serving size is where it gets tricky. The most accurate is to weigh out the serving based on the weight of the serving listed on the package. I have weighed out a 1 cup serving of cereal that is indicated on a box and had it weigh significantly more than the weight associated…

Welcome back! Things are pretty quiet in here but it is great to see a familiar face in here again.

My only advice to you is to find some sort of physical activity you enjoy that gets you out of your house. Focus on yourself while you are doing it. Really listen to your body and how it is feeling. Focus on how you are feeling not how you are looking. I ended up having to get help to deal with my anxiety about being in…

Welcome to the group! It isn't overly active right now but people do pop up now and then. You say you "have to lose 100lbs and have to do it in a year". Is there a reason for that deadline? I had more than 100 to lose and the first 100 did come off in a year but then it really slowed down. Those are good changes for what…

I am so jealous you got to keep the boobs! I think mine were the first thing to go. I started out 18 months ago at 295lbs. I am 5'3" and was wearing 3-4 x shirts and 24 in pants with a 46 DDD bra. Now I am down 140 lbs to roughly 155 and am wearing a size med or large in shirts, 9/10 in pants and a 34C bra. Things really…

Not impossible at all! Break it down into smaller chunks and it seems less daunting. I have lost 10 lbs 13 times but the idea of losing 130+ lbs sounded so out of range that the risk of failure was so high I don't think I would have tried. Logging food accurately is a big part of it ...weigh everything. Good luck!

It definitely gets better! In April 2015 I started with a 22 min mile..over half it walking. In October 2015 I ran (well 12 min miles) a half marathon. I was able to do it at a steady pace the entire time with no walks. Keep it up.

That is an amazing transformation! My husband and I have lost a combined total of 265 lb in the last 18 months or so. We found that by doing it together we were able to encourage the other when things got rough for one of us and vice versa. Congratulations!

Thanks guys. I have spent a lot of time thinking (yes most of it was while running or biking) the last week and a half. I think a big part of this frustration was the fact that a year ago I had planned to be at my goal by my next birthday and that isn't even close to happening. I am grateful though that it seems I have…

Hi and welcome to the group! The activity in this group goes up and down and lately unfortunately it seems to be down. Your right in the weightloss not being linear so just wait it out. What are you doing to lose the weight? I loved how fast the weight came off at first but as my body adjusted to the changes it really…

Four days is not a plateau. Keep doing what you are doing and it will come off. Especially if you are working out even harder, that can cause some water retention that will eventually come off in time.
-
you are doing amazing! keep it up.

I need to check it out too. I use a pair of my son's compression shorts under my legging or whatever. I am a mom of 5 (2 c/s) and lost 130 lbs...and I am loving running too :)
-
Were the numbers similar between the two? When I first started running I was running one app and thought I was doing great (10 min miles and 3-4 mile distances) so I signed up for a 5K thinking that would be a breeze. Unfortunately once I ran on an actual measured course I was really disappointed. The app told me I ran a…

Great job getting out there and running! I was wondering how you are recording your distances and pace? I am no expert and have been running since March and I am still trying to break 10 min miles.
-
That is so amazing and you look great! Good luck on your next goal.

I'm glad to be back. Hoping to kick start things a bit hopefully. The change of schedule always throws me off but I am hoping to not give into it this year. That is the thing I have noticed most since losing the weight....those bleachers are even more uncomfortable. My tailbone hurts even when I use a pillow to sit on. The…

I'm here! Haven't been on in awhile with school and football starting. Three in high school this year and three different football teams so I am spending a lot of time sitting in bleachers. Also had a medical scare that took a lot out of me but I managed to keep on plan through it all. I am still chugging along but things…

Congratulations! A lot of people don't realize what a great accomplishment this is for those of us who have been obese for so long.
-
Wow that is a big difference especially in the hips and the gathering around the waist. You look much smaller now...except your smile. That has definitely gotten bigger!
-
Wow those are some adventurous goals. I look forward to hearing the stories of when they are accomplished! I have surprisingly crossed several things off my list that I made over a year ago...at 265 lbs already down 30 from where I started. 1. Weigh less than at least one of my kids (now almost 20 lbs less than my oldest)…
