forgot to post my weight. They closed down the single track where I ride to prevent damage while it is so wet from snow melting. I am having a hard time dealing with it :'( . I am so looking forward to getting back on the mountain bike and hopefully that will kick in the weight loss again. Post a weekly weigh in - even if…

What an awesome gift to give you. Now you can remember her every time you think about how much better off you are because of being able to live in a better place. The less stress from those other matters the more you will be able to focus on your health.

It sounds like you have really thought this out and made an informed decision you are confident in. Just like it takes weeks for it to build up and become effective it takes weeks to taper off of it. You are a smart woman and know what you are doing. I am glad to hear that you have good friends that will call you out if…

Glad you got a chance to get in a big ride. I can't imagine riding that long. Here I was all excited that I rode all three levels of the single track and it amounted to 22 miles. I am in awe. Nothing feels as good as getting on a new bike for your first ride. The difference was night and day the first time I took out my…

Great job on the loss so far! I love biking and I use it as my major form of exercise. I know what you mean about the saggy skin. A lot of it has to do with genetics so while you can do somethings to lessen it some of us are fighting a losing battle.

Awesome. Nothing pointless about that ...but then again if you want to say it is pointless I am not going to argue with you about it...I mean if you can lift that much I doubt there are very many people who would want to be on your bad side and disagree with anything you ever have to say!

Glad to see you back! I was starting to get worried you had gotten lost on one of your bike rides. Good job on keeping on track. I don't know why but once I hit the 100 lb lost mark it slowed down ...a lot....like flipping a switch. I am so jealous of your weather. I went for a ride on my fat tire bike the other day and it…

Sure why not. Fitness goals: Cardio work outs at least 5 days a week (bike or treadmill/elliptical) Do the 30 day dumbell challenge that I started yesterday everyday Nutrition goals: Log food daily Maintain weekly average of under my goal. Try to up my protein intake slightly Weight goals: *currently working on breaking an…

Diana-This board is a little slow but there are usually a few of us that check in regularly and we would love to have you join us more.

I know exactly how you feel. I have lost over 100 lbs and I know we are our own worst critics. I too find myself comparing myself to others and being disappointed. I still have a ways to go on my journey but I know that I will never look like them. Everyone tells me I need to be proud of what I accomplished but all I can…

Yup my name is Wendy. That is an awesome picture! I want muscles. I lift but without having someone to do it with and direct me I have no clue what I am doing. My boys keep telling me they will help but schedules don't really line up for it to happen. I am seriously considering getting a trial membership at a gym with a…

I just checked and I do have it set to sedentary...oops. My exercise calories I think are pretty accurate since I use a heart rate monitor and not mfp estimates. I still feel guilty about eating them all back though but maybe I should try that for awhile. Can't be slowing it down any more than it is now. I have only lost…

I agree that it is all about what works and is sustainable for each individual. If it doesn't work or is too hard no one will stick to it and it won't matter if it does cause weight loss. I did find somethings in there that were interesting though and now that I think about it might be a part of my recent stall. I started…

I am really interested to see how the upping calories works for you. I have worked out my bmr and tdee and all those other numbers on so many different sites and I just get so lost. It never really made sense to me that there was such a thing as under eating. I always thought if I eat less I will lose more but I guess it…

I am loving all these stories! Since late January of 2014 my husband and I have lost just over 105 lbs each. We did it by tracking our calories in/out and getting more active. We started off slow with short walks on the treadmill and then discovered mountain biking and fell in love with it. We've changed so we are eating a…

I started at around 295 in early February 2014. I broke my ankle and it was still healing at the time so it wasn't very fast at first. I still have a ways to go to be at what is considered a "healthy weight" but its a start.

I am willing to try anything. I have a couple of large thyroid nodules so my neck will always be thicker but if I could tighten up that skin on the chin I would feel so much better. :(

I am pretty sure it is closed still. I don't know for sure but I think it might have to be one of the group leaders that can send an invite?

You definitely have more curves now it is very clear in the tshirt comparison. I know what you mean about the point of reference for an end goal. I haven't been this weight in 18 years and I was never a small person so getting into uncharted territory here. Thanks for explaining the picture thing. Maybe tomorrow I will get…

I have the sweat and soars too and that is the worst part. Seems to be getting worse as the overhang gets softer with less fat in it. That is the only reason that the insurance might possibly cover the surgery. It just seems like such and invasive thing that I just have so many mixed thoughts on it. I am losing the weight…

That is amazing progress! Your eyes are so much bigger. I guess I never really thought about it but when people lose weight it comes off everywhere including the eyelids etc making the eyes look bigger. I should figure out how to post pictures one of these days. I don't have the confidence to post in the open forums but I…

Sorry for the loss of your grandma. You are definitely having a rough year. Take care of yourself and start again tomorrow. Hopefully the bad luck for you has finally run its course.

Thanks guys. I have been ok today so far. ..only 9 am but it is something. I don't make any food off limits since I want to be able to eat everything once the weight is gone. I just don't know why I couldn't stop. The funny thing is that I had none of the usual triggers. A major stress situation was resolved last week with…

Yeah for not snoring! My 15 year old was feeling all pumped up after weight lifting the other day and decided to try to lift me...and he was able to! I also discovered that I now weigh less than my 16 year old super fit son.

That looks so cool! The only gym in our small town consists of a miss matched set of free weights, and a couple of old machines In the basement of the dentists office. Yeah, not exactly in the same category as yours.

I currently don't have many friends on fitness pal. Every once in awhile I add a few only to have to clear them off later because they eat nothing or record unrealistic exercise burns or just just stop logging. Don't even get me started on the whole grocery shopping/cooking meals thing. Trying to make anything that I enjoy…

I would have to say that is a big win. Sure you were angry with yourself earlier but to me it sounds like you channeled that anger into something good -kicking butt at the gym. I am so jealous of all the awesome sounding stuff you get to do at the gym.

Glad to see some more people here even if you prefer to lurk. When I first started I read a lot and even though I didn't post I learned a lot of things. I felt better just reading and being able to relate to what these strangers were going through. I was never very social but as my weight has gone down I am finding it much…
