  • Depends on your body type and age. I'm a mesomorph (athletic build), 5.2" and 44 years old. My goal weight is 122.0 and I was quite slim at that weight. Once you reach about 125-130... you'll know if you need to adjust your goal. Good luck!
  • I could eat almost any kind of taco.... almost. ICK!
  • Add veggies. Lots and lots of fresh veggies! :)
  • @Michellerawrr The current one... so pretty. Love your hair!
  • Same here! 9 glorious days in Mexico for us. Great food and drinks all day and night. I'm not going to worry about anything and deal with the damage control when we get back. Enjoy your vacation!!!
  • I will be starting it again after I'm back from vacation. I made it through a couple workouts. Killer burn!
  • I'll be testing for my second degree black belt in Taekwondo this year. WOOT! I love doing it, it helps keep me flexible and strong. :)
  • I looked through your diary and my suggestion would be to get more vegetables worked in to your meals. Try to stay away from the starchy vegetables like potatoes and corn for now. You may be staying under your calorie goal, but not all calories are created equal. But stick with it! You are focused and determined... and…
  • ^^ Exactly what I do with it! I love it pan-seared with EVOO and minced garlic. Sometimes I will mix in some carrots, zucchini, red onions, or any other vegetable I have available. You can also lightly toss it in olive oil/garlic, throw it in a baking dish and toss in the oven for about 20 minutes at 325 degrees.

  • We should be giving our bodies constant change as it becomes more efficient at burning calories. If you have done a certain routine for a number of weeks or months, it may be time to change. Change your workouts and change the types of food you are eating. Keep that body guessing! Good luck!
  • I have lemon in a hot cup of water in the morning. Great way to get things started and "moving" so to speak. :) I was not a water drinker when I started out. I began by adding the Crystal Light packets and slowly started drinking just plain water. I can't drink enough water if it's cold, so I leave the bottles out and…

  • I don't know if this will help, but I broke through a very stubborn plateau by just including dark chocolate as a late night snack. I guess my body needed something from it. :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/bjohs/view/plateau-vs-chocolate-who-won-116497
  • - chicken - salmon - ground turkey - tuna in water - every fresh vegetable possible - a few back-up frozen veggies - raspberries - blueberries - eggs - tortillas - salsa - salad fixings
  • I like to either pan-sear or roast my veggies with a little bit of EVOO and minced garlic. YUMMO! Here are some pics. Pan-seared broccoli and carrots: Roasted veggies: Zucchini, yellow summer squash, white onion, red bell pepper, red cabbage, and asparagus. More roasted veggies: Yellow bell pepper, red bell pepper, orange…
  • Here are some of mine... PHOTO 1: 2.5 scrambled eggs (whole egg), 2 slices of deli smoked ham, 1/4 cup chopped white onion, 1 cup of chopped baby spinach, 1/2 medium navel orange, 1/2 large plain bagel with 1 wedge of Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb spreadable cheese. NOTE: Just skip the ham. 447 calories, 45g carbs, 16g fat,…
  • Maybe try adding more green leafy vegetables.
  • In my opinion, do what was working for you. MFP is only a guide... not an end-all-beat-all bible on how to lose weight. Everyone has an opinion here, but only YOU know your body and how it reacts to different foods and different caloric amounts. Only you know what is best for you! Good luck!
  • You are still a strong woman... just feeling down right now. Things will start looking up again so try to keep your chin up, hun. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. Do you have any nice parks to take walks in? How about a cafe to enjoy a beverage while reading a book? There should be some nice, relaxing things to do to…
  • It's good to get feelings out, even if they are writing them down. I have no advice for you other than to see if there are any opportunities to meet new people in NZ? Maybe just meeting a girlfriend to confide in would help get you though the harder moments. Hugs to you, my friend. I would LOVE to come to NZ and hang out…
  • I mentioned earlier that I usually start my day with a 600 calorie breakfast... that was no joke! This is what a typical morning looks like at my house. We are now enjoying Mexican omelets but the calorie count is about the same. I've also switched mostly over to green tea instead of my beloved cappuccino... but only until…
  • I usually start off my day with a 600 calorie breakfast... no starvation here!!! LOL
  • Sorry, that article is ludicrous. I could have nothing but a few soft drinks each day and lose weight too. Doesn't mean it's making you any healthier or build a sustainable lifestyle. Please don't post articles like this unless you are advocating poor eating habits and fad diets.
  • There really is no way of knowing without seeing your diary. Unfortunately, only a week of working out will not achieve 4 pounds of muscle mass... not even 1 pound. However, in my journey, I have learned a couple things... 1) The quality of food is as important as the quantity of food. Not all calories are created equal.…
  • On my challenges, I usually give a deadline time and word it something like this... CHALLENGE: For every person who LIKES this status, I will do 5 (various) crunches. The deadline is 6PM CST and comments with the word "like" will not count. That way people aren't spamming the post with a ton of written "likes" and it gives…
  • LIKE! I started a Facebook Challenge page just like this a few months ago. Come on over if you ever need motivation! http://www.facebook.com/offthecouch
  • Not all calories are not created equal... that's for sure! :)
  • Oh girl, I love eggs! I make them all sorts of ways and I'll send you some ideas. But in the meantime, search Pinterest for "eggs" and you'll find all sorts of delicious recipes! http://pinterest.com/search/?q=eggs
  • Big (In a good way.) ;-)
  • I'm not a huge fan of cooked veggies either. I think because my mother would cook them until they were mush. ICK! Now I either saute, roast or grill them a little bit with EVOO/garlic. That way they still have a snap to them and it really brings out the vibrant colors. Colorful food is happy food. :D
