Not following the RXd diet in the book, but I have increased protein by a lot and am eating more calories. Trying to keep the percentages right with protein/carbs/fat, too. As delicious as the recipes in the book sound to me; most of them wouldn't get eaten by my kids or husband ;).

I make myself not have negative thoughts. I was on anti-depressants for many years and had the same problem. I have days where I just don't feel like working out, but I MAKE myself go and feel better afterward. It's all about pushing yourself.

Hummus! I love hummus so much.

Same here: I stopped logging because it was getting absurd to the point that I was basically obsessing over every little thing and I HAD TO LOG IT ALL. Including working out. So I stopped for a couple of months. Does this affect anyone else? No. Should it? Um... it's up to them. I don't give a damn, to be honest. I use MFP…

Most days yes!

As far as I've always been told, eat an extra meal a day. Some say an extra 500 calories; my meals are rarely that big but I think it varies for each person. You don't have to eat "for two people" (as I'm sure you know!) but you definitely need to eat more to feed the baby :D. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

My husband was a good 40+ pounds lighter than I was when we first met (in 2003) and started dating. However, he was very muscular... "ripped" if you will so I felt that protected feeling. Now, almost 9 years later, I actually weigh 5 pounds less than him (his weight has increased, mine has decreased). I didn't really care…

Yes, I do go three times a week. I did B today (after I did A two days... oops). Thanks everyone :).
-
BAHAHAH. Best thing I've read all night.

I am too. I fell off the ball the other day... at least I can laugh at myself right?! Lol. You'll get the hang of it :)

I know people have suggested "exercise" but even when I was exercising 5+ days a week my period did not get any better, the pain did not get better, and I was still left with excruciating cramps every month. I get nauseated, I bleed excessively, and have to keep taking Aleve pretty much all day to get rid of the pain.…

Today is my day "Off" from running and weights, but I walked around the outlet mall for about an hour :). Tomorrow: New Rules of Lifting (workout #3) and probably going to run a few miles.
-
What MorbidMander said. That wasn't necessary. I was actually NOT that hungry when I was eating about 1400cals a day AND exercising (not eating my exercise calories). I would have to force myself to eat. Just this past week I have increased because I am lifting weights. While I was a bit scared I would gain, I didn't...…

That is AWESOME! I had been running for a few months when my mom-in-law noticed I'd lost quite a bit of weight and decided she, too, would train for a 5k. (however, her knees are falling apart, so she's put it on hold). I just love that getting healthy is so inspiring to others, makes me want to do more! Good for you AND…

Yes, absolutely. I feel like if I am not honest it will come back to bite me in the butt.

That sounds SOOO good!

Bell peppers, broccoli, cucumber (though I am not entirely sure if that is low carb?) and carrots (but, same thing as cucumber - I don't think they adhere to the low carb thing). Mmm, maybe cauliflower would be yummy? HTH!

Lol, I just started - so not doing deadlifts yet, but today: 1. Squat - bar + 10lbs (50 lbs. total I *think* - need to ask next time I'm there how much it weighs!) 2. 15 reps, 2 sets (60 sec. rest in between) 3. 5'6" and 151 pounds. I'm pretty proud of myself! :)

Ahh that's nice to hear Holley! I just started (did my 2nd workout today) but I have been running for ... quite a while now. I am more looking to lose a pant size than pounds but I'll be happy with both!

I prefer to do *most* of the chores because my husband isn't that great at them, but he DOES help out whenever I ask. When he was in the USMC and working upwards of 15 hours a day (sometimes less, sometimes more) I didn't expect or want him to do much - take the trash out and very rarely, help fold laundry. I figured he…

I spent $26 on mine on Amazon, it was a Pulsesonic. I used it for quite a few months but felt it got to be a competition/obsession to burn x amount of calories. It was definitely useful, though!!

Remember to BREATHE! LOL. I was so nervous for my first 5k, even though I knew I could do it. Make sure you eat the night before, and eat what you feel comfortable with before it (mine was early in the morning so I got up earlier and ate a light breakfast, your mileage may vary). Most of all HAVE FUN!!!!

Hey everyone! I'm Kelly. Just started NROLFW today; got the book last week and was debating whether or not to do it. I have two daughters - oldest is almost 8, youngest, is 4, and they are pretty much my life. I'm married to a pretty awesome guy. ;). We are both full time college students; I will graduate with my AA in…

thank you very much! I got it figured out w/ the help of the husband. So far so good...
-
True, I read most of the first half but skimmed through the rest. I'll take another look at it. I blame it on doing homework all day, lol.
-
Ditto both of you! Holy hell, some days I swear I feel like a 20 still! And some days I feel super fit! It's weird.
-
I gained 40 with my first and was already overweight. Gained most of it towards the end. With my second, I threw up the first 3 1/2 months and then was diagnosed with gestational diabetes so I was put on a strict diet + insulin. I gained 0 pounds with her. :)

My first NSV (before I knew what it was) had to be when I finished a mile on the elliptical in less than 10 minutes. :D
-
I love that dress! You look great - congrats on your weight loss, too!! Today we booked a vacation in the Bahamas for Christmas break. At the rate I have been losing I will be beyond my goal then. My NSV is that I will have to buy a new suit (even though I just bought one in June!) and I will be HAPPY to wear it! I am…

I had ONE week in which I lost 4 pounds. I don't know how or why but it worried me because it didn't feel normal. On average I have lost 1 - 1.5 pounds per week. A few weeks here and there with a 2lb. loss. I don't know what I lost my first week because I didn't get on the scale. :)
