This. I've never been at 14% BF, but I have managed to lose most of the fat from every other part of my body. I have lean arms and legs and I can see 4 out of the 6 pack too - and also still have the bottom bulge. I'm pretty sure by now that I'll never get rid of that. Not unless I starve myself to be so skinny that I'm…

A flat tummy is all I want too. Sadly, I already have relatively low body fat, am toned and flab-free everywhere else, do a ton of core and eat a (albeit small) deficit. Still a pooch. I'm pretty sure that my genes are determined that I'll never ever have a flat tummy - unless I become anorexic or have surgery. But the…

Last week two people completely independently of each other (and without me asking) told me that I look very buff. For the girl who has always had spindly arms, a flabby tummy and hanging shoulders, that's a huge success!

I'm surprised that so many people are colder now that they are thinner. For me the exact opposite happened. I have so much more muscle now (yet a lot less fat) and I'm much more comfortable. I used to be the one with the extra jacket, the long underwear, who didn't want to open the window when it's cold outside. Now I love…

I ordered it on Amazon.

Did you check the fibre count is correct on everything you're logging? Because I checked my diary after I read your questions to give you tiops, because I feel like I eat a LOT of fibre. And then I noticed that I barely ever go over five. But at second glance I noticed that I had entries in there saying that whole grain…

I count my calories now because I'm trying to stick religiously to one round of P90X, but previous to that I've been maintaining without counting. I haven't gained or lost more than 2-3 pounds for the last five years, while exercising 4-6 times a week and having regular meals, no snacks. For me it really works to have big…

This is old theories from the eighties that are now proven not to be true. The way your body gets its energy through different processes varies over time, but all that matters at the end is how many calories you burn. 90 minute of slow cardio is NO more efficient than 45 minutes of intense cardio, if they burn the same…

Bananas and apples. If I don't have them with my cereal in the morning (which is almost every day), I'll have one of the two for desert after lunch or as an afternoon snack :)

I think it's selfish and inconsiderate of your boyfriend not to make the slightest effort here. Yes, what you eat is your problem, but to my mind it is an entirely reasonable request to ask him to support you in this. He must know or at least try to understand how hard it is to break bad habits and to resist temptation if…

Some of these sound pretty good. I don't need a particular flavor like chocolate, just something that I can mix in with my cereal or in some yogurt without choking on the taste. ;) Thanks! (More tips are of course appreciated)

Exactly, don't start eating even less!! There are a bunch of reasons why you didn't lose anything yet even though you're eating very little. You could be withholding water (because you started working out and weren't used to it, or because you don't drink enough, eat too much sodium, medical conditions, etc...). Or you…

One unassisted pull-up (I've never been able to do one) 30 push-ups (last year's goal was 20, which I reached, and then went back to 17) run 6 miles in under an hour

Is he overweight too? Is he maybe afraid you might get thin and fit while he doesn't and is afraid you'll start seeing him as a loser? Or is he afraid he might lose you once you become so skinny and attractive and confident that other guys go after you - or you might become "too good" for him? Whatever his reasons... He's…

Cardio on sore muscles is okay! :) I love doing body pump, too, and usually switch it up with running or other cardio. For some reason, I feel especially good when I run after a "leg day", when my legs are already sore. You'd think it'd be harder then... Can't explain it, but it's good. ^^ Good thing you asked though -…

You haven't gone and that's that. No reason to obsess over spilt milk. Of course it's not a good idea to do more weight training when you're already super sore. But what you could do next time this happens: cardio. Run, use the crosstrainer, or anything of the like... Why not go and do that tomorrow?

If someone is so overweight they might die soon, they sure as hell shouldn't go through invasive surgery. That takes much more of a toll on the body than starting to lose weight. I cannot think of a single reason why lap band or gastric bypass would EVER be anything other than a horribly wrong thing to do.

Am I the only one who is NOT thrilled about bikram yoga? I love regular yoga (ashtanga, sometimes hatha, or Jillian Michael's cardio-yoga-hybrid), so I was intrigued when I heard about this particular version. So I talked to two trainers to get more information, and what they told me made me decide to stick with my…

Don't you get sore if you do the same program every day? I.e. overwork some parts of your body? Don't get me wrong, I love 30 Day Shred and all of her other exercise videos, but I do one every couple of days and switch it up with something else, like running. Because when I don't do that, I have to do squats with glutes…

That happened to me, except I tried to hold on to the treadmill for some reason, and the belt pulled down my (too-lose-at-that-point) pants. So falling on the treadmill and losing my pants in front of a crowded cardio room (40 machines or more, almost all occupied) is my most embarrassing gym moment. Beat that.

Apples and peanut butter are both full of good nutrients (as long as you go for peanut butter without added sugar, trans fat and all that crap, and buy organic apples if possible), and there is no reason why you shouldn't eat them as you like. Just watch your calorie budget overall. :) Just think of all the vitamins and…

You could be coming down with the flu. Do you work out every day? If yes and you kept going once you were already sore, maybe you just need to give yourself a rest day.

I have worked out like crazy for about three and a half years now (like crazy meaning 4-5 times a week when I never got off the couch all my life before that) and I still can NOT do pull-ups. I know those are really hard, especially for women, but when I try, there's not even a twitch. :/ But at least I increased the…

Hm, I know what I'm doing right: - I exercise a lot - I drink more than enough water - I hardly ever drink soda - I eat a lot of vegetables, fruits and fibre I have not quite worked out yet: - how to stay under my calorie limit - I'm always a bit over - how not to have sweet cravings all the time (although most of the time…

Jillian Michaels for me too! I love muscles... But since the only sport I've ever engaged in is couch-sitting and internet-surfing, I still have a very long way to go. Started exercising and losing weight three years ago and have got a LOT more muscles than back then, but I'm not there yet. My dream is a flat stomach, but…

Wow, that's a great tip... And really useful for me, because I never liked cheese. Even back when I didn't care what I ate and just gorged down whatever tasted good, I didn't like the cheese. And people really do look at you like you're a freak when you order your pizza without cheese :p

Oh yeah, cereal... Who decides what constitues a serving anyway? Only a two-year-old who's already had a full meal could get full off of one serving of cereal. >:( Other than that it surprised me how many calories fruit has. I used to tell myself that I could eat as much fruit as I want throughout the day, and that just…
