  • Yes, I have cravings and binges that I can usually control more during the rest of the month. I try to make up for it in exercise and extra water, but don't always succeed.
  • Paper sounds good, especially if it is printed with green ink and has pictures of American presidents on it lol
  • Ahem? What is Insanity? I assume that you don't mean the normal definition of mental health?
  • My exhusband was a negative person like this. That explains the 'EX'. You can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends, and how much time you will spend with people who are not supportive of you. If you cannot laugh about it with them, loose them.
  • I did the pen and paper version for a long time as well. After a few days on MFP I realized that many of my foods are repetitive, and don't require a lot of search. You may be able to create an exercise 'custom made' and just enter a description and no calories. Not sure, I love to see my work-out calories piling up!
  • Almost every processed food has sugar in it. On the label you can identify it by the ending 'ose' (sucrose, dextrose, maltose...) and, of course, in High Fructose Corn Sirup. Honey also is a sugar. If you start looking at the labels, you will find that even salty foods such as potato chips and mayonaise contain sugar. The…
  • Can you find a friend or two to go with you? It's harder to tell others that you are skipping out on an exercise, keeps your more on track. And once your go, you are going to love it. Look at your calender realisticly, and decide which time slots your are giving to yourself. Make that a priority. You are worth it, every…
  • Wow. You deserve so much better. What a prissy little pr1ck.
  • Every 10 I reward myself with a pair of luxury shoes that I would otherwise not purchase. Every 15 a new Wii game.
  • Same here. 48 5''8 CW 203 GW 160. Female :-)
  • Wow, a lot of young'ons on here! 48 5'8 CW 203 GW 160 I want a twin, please!
  • I am not sure about the best brand of shoes. But what helped me a lot was a night splint, that kept my foot in a flexed position. The best kind for me is the over-the counter one (Futuro, about $30 in Kroger and K-Mart). Good luck with the recovery, I know you must be in considerable pain.
  • I thought I recognized your name from SP... lol. I too changed to MFP, it's not so cluttered, I find it easier to track my success here. Thanks for sharing this article!
  • Good morning to you~! Good luck on your journey to a different you !
  • Any fruit or veggie would be the best choice, of course. But I am human, so I am planning for the second best... I made a bunch of 100 calorie bags from my favorite treats and snack on them as needed. That way I don't binge on the whole bag (as I was known to do), and am encouraged to continue with reasonable success. You…

  • I've fallen off for a while as well (used a different website) - regained 40 pounds. But that makes it clear to me that I need and can do it right this time. Good luck with this adventure - you can do it! Elke
  • You have the right attitude - make a go for it. The lab band is a huge intrusion into your body. I hope you won't need it!
  • MTsidad, you just made me smile :-)
  • Great idea, but.... NO WAY! Couldn't handle the image of myself like that YET.
  • I get a whole grain mini bagel (100 cals) and a hard boiled egg, or some hummus. Follow it with my choice of fruit for the day. Gets me started for the morning, and I feel like I have chewed on something :-)
  • You may want to try to go up in calories for the part of the month you are more aware of what you are doing. You may be depriving yourself too much, and as a result binge for the rest of the month. Either way, take one day at a time, and don't give up.
  • I recently bought two pairs of Reebok Runtones; the air cushions help me with the pain I usually experience from my heel spur and arthritis in the foot. They are about $90, but after trying them on in the mall I found them for $60 online (Dillards)....
  • Muscle is heavier than fat. You may want to add other measurements, like waist, thigh etc. to see the actual progress. If after all that you still don't see any progress, you may need to reassess how you measure your caloric intake. I was woefully off the mark when I first started recording what I ate. Good luck, enjoy…
  • I think you need to consult a doctor, and work out a recovery plan with her/him. You could injure your knee even more and multiply your recovery time, thus setting you back even more. In the meanwhile, maybe you can find a way to use an elliptical or swim for cardio?
  • Make mashed potatoes with sour cream instead of butter - much fluffier and less calories. Substitute hummus on bread for butter. Bought tiny zip-lock bags and made my own 100 calorie snacks. That way I can still indulge occassionally in my favorite sweets, but have control over the portion size.
  • I don't use the term 'dieting'. However, I tell anybody who wants to hear it (or not), that I am making some changes to my life style and brag about my little successes. It keeps me motivated, kind of like when I quit smoking, because I know that my friends have better expectations from me now. I don't call it a diet,…
  • I worked for a low-income program and the two names that stood out the most were 'Blowdell' (female) and 'Babygirl'. Some parents should not be allowed to choose names for their children...
  • Don't have a middle name. And my first name is not on the list. Elke.
