I have an old knee injury as well and get that. I suggest swimming or the elliptical. It is low impact on my knee. But when I went to the gym I found weight lifting much more entertaining and do able. Tea is powerful stuff! I used it to quit smoking. I went out for a cup of tea when I wanted a smoke. It really helped. It was still hard but it was a nice substitute without the calories. I didn't sweeten it.
