  • Can you open your food and exercise diary so we can see what you've been doing? This might help inspire suggestions to get you going again on your weight loss.
  • Bump - I am in a similar position as you... I've been netting less than 900 cals on average each day I exercise and have hit my second plateau since starting MFP about 85 days ago. I just figured out that most of the successful people using MFP are eating back most if not all their exercise calories. I am starting to do…
  • What I would like to know is this - does it work better to eat back ALL your exercise calories or just some of them? I am afraid to eat back all of them but would try it if it was proven to work better. As a rule, I only allow myself to eat back about half but I don't do this often enough to notice if it boosts the loss or…
  • Ditto!! An attitude like this will make you succeed and your sense of humor will keep you surrounded by those who care!
  • I agree - I always defer to the readout on my treadmill since the MFP allowances are so far off (way too hight).
  • Wow, you're lucky that you only showed a one pound difference between your digital and analog. With me it was almost a 7 pound difference so it was shocking and disappointing to know that I had been almost as heavy as I was while pregnant. Once I got past the disappointment I went ahead and adjusted my starting weight up 7…
  • Bump - thanks for the idea! :flowerforyou:
  • This is EXACTLY right. I'm currently not running but have aspirations to run again one day. For me, I worry that the extra weight I've gained over the last few years might cause knee or back injury. That said, once I've shed about 10 more pounds I'm hitting the pavement again (although I hit the pavement every day with…
  • Love Trijoe's advice to get your DD involved with helping Mommy. This will make her feel important in your eyes when she may be feeling insecure about having to share your attention with the baby. As for DS sleeping through the night... YES... it is likely he will always do this so you seem to be all set there. Back to you…
  • Oh my! I'm sure you won't but I just wanted to say... please don't wait until your friend calls you... check on her and soon. I am not trying to be alarmist here but my gut tells me that this guy is bad news. If he had the audacity to belittle her like that in public I can only imagine how he may behave towards her in…
  • It does seem at your fitness level and age that your heart rate should recover more quickly after exercise... based on that alone I'd get myself checked out by a doctor. That said, I'm also wondering how you FEEL when your heart rate is elevated for this prolonged time. Your doctor will also want to know this. Good luck…
  • I try to fill my plate with what I had planned on my log and put the remainder of the food out of sight... this usually does the trick but this is difficult with "family meals" when I typically leave food out to fill the belly of my 16yr old son. I have also found that eating slowly helps as does making myself wait 20 or…

  • I just bought a Taylor Glass Electronic Scale on Amazon.com and it was less than $25 and also closely matches my doctor's office scale. You don't have to spend a ton of money to get a decent scale so perhaps this will help you justify it to your husband. I weigh two or three times a week and LOVE to see the increments of…
  • If I were you I would try eating back at least half your exercise calories. I think this might even boost your weight loss. Just avoid stalling your metabolism which is what you could do if you continue eating so little. If this happens you also stall or reverse weight loss. Good luck!
