Hi everyone. My 23 year old son will be celebrating one year of sobriety on June 13. I still enjoy a few drinks a week but in an effort to continue supporting him and also boost my health I'm going to join in for an AF June. I look forward to offering help to anyone new to recovery.... we have learned a ton about this over…

You look absolutely radiant and should be so proud of your amazing accomplishment. My sister has lost 100lb since beginning her healthier lifestyle and I'm planning on sharing your story with her. I'm hoping you'll inspire her to post her own before/after to share with others on this motivating forum. I'm sending you a…

Have you considered asking your doctor for a different medication? I found that Wellbutrin helped tremendously with my anxiety a few years back. Of course exercise also helps! Best of luck...

No way! In fact low fat milk is a great source of protein and is filling with only about 100 calories or so for a cup. I find a glass of milk with or soon after dinner helps to curb my late night snacking problem as well.

Your net for the day being that low could stifle your weight loss. You need to be eating back enough of your exercise calories for your net to be high enough that you actually lose rather than alter your metabolism so you end up not losing or worse gaining. I try to make sure my net is at least 1100. Another thing... An…

Hilarious!,

That's awesome! Great job and keep up the good work. I sometimes think that people assume men can lose weight so much easier than women that they don't give credit where it is due unless it is such a dramatic loss that they have to. Either way I'm happy for you that folks are noticing!

Maybe you can open your diary so that folks can make suggestions that might help...:flowerforyou:

I agree with everyone but thought I'd point out that at your height it seems that 120lbs would be on the lower end of an ideal weight (dependent on your frame size and bone structure of course). I'd hazard a bet that your new curves have you looking strong, beautiful and fit! Great job!!

Could you be a little dehydrated?

This!! I started MFP to lose just over 30 pounds a few months ago. I've lost 18 which is more than half way to my goal and only 2 or 3 people have even noticed which is sometimes maddening to me. I wonder if others with under 20 or 30 pounds to lose experience the same thing. I do manage to shake it off and find my own…

My thoughts exactly!!! I love Taco Bell bean burritos and on occasion I plan my food diary around having 1 or 2 of them for dinner. At about 370cals a pop I don't think it is bad at all... either way I don't think it has had one negative effect on me having lost 18lbs and now over half way to my GW. That said, I would…

Are you eating back your exercise calories? If you are eating too little you can hamper weight loss and even sometimes gain.

Ditto!!!

I just reread your post and noticed that your company is using the weight calculators as a tool to see how much you pay for health insurance. This is in response to increased costs for them... which is a political issue I won't address here (and makes me soooo angry anyway... ugh). That said, I would make sure your company…

I think there is a general "rule" for many ideal weight predictors that adds 10% to the calculation for large boned folks and subtracts 10% for smaller boned people. It may be that you have a denser bone structure or are more muscular so you need to add that 10%. It sounds like you have a good eye for your body and know…

Oh my goodness, I love this... someone who thinks just like I do sometimes... LOL!

To me it sounds like you are doing perfectly! It took me awhile to trust that eating back the exercise calories would actually help with the weight loss (since you avoid the dreaded starvation mode) and you are smart to have figured this out so quickly. Good luck!

I hear you! I finally gave up my sugar and half n half for sugar free French Vanilla powdered non-dairy creamer. That's as far as I can go since black coffee is not for me!!

Exercise and eat back those calories to net near 1200. Basically, by exercising you can eat more! You can do this!!
-
Slow down... as you get more aerobically conditioned as a runner you will naturally increase your pace without even realizing it. You should be able to easily complete short sentences as you run... if not or if it is difficult this means you are trying to go too fast. It also helps immensely to have a partner to chat with…

Well said and exactly what I was thinking... very concerning in my opinion and I hope this young girl has some friends and relatives who are alert to her situation.

My thoughts exactly! Congratulations on all your hard work!

You may simply need to eat more... and that includes those exercise calories. Never eat less than net unless you question the validity of the exercise calories MFP calculated for you... for me, I make sure I eat at least half my exercise calories back and have lately been eating more than half. I am only about a week into…

This is right on!! Eat those exercise calories back!!
-
Yes, open the diary so people can analyze what you are eating along with your exercise. I can tell you this - do not eat less than 1200 and make sure you are eating your exercise calories.

I just took a quick peak at your diary and looked back over the last two weeks. I think you should try eating back more of your exercise calories and also boost those fresh fruits and veggies while lowering the high sodium processed foods. I've spent a lot of time looking at the habits of the folks on this site that are…
