The main difference that I can see (besides cost) is health. WW pushes the points system and you've got to learn that and be able to translate that while at the grocery store or spend hours (yes, I used to spend over an hour every week in the grocery store breaking out my points calculator to see if a specific for was…

It must've been in the air... I too had a bad weekend, just letting myself overeat. I didn't go too too crazy but that's because I put the brakes on (sometimes)... It could have been way worse. I did have two days in a row (Friday and Saturday) where I consumed processed bread... one not so good white "bun" and then the…

Just found this on "The Mushroom Channel" on Facebook: Mushroom Primavera over Spaghetti Squash Yield: 4 portions at about 260 calories Ingredients 1 1/2 tbs Sliced Kalamata olives 3/4 cup Crumbled, fat-free feta cheese 1 cup Cherry or grape tomatoes, halved 2 tsp minced garlic 1 cup chopped onion 1 lb White button…

I agree with the majority of folks here (I didn't read every post). I believe that your diary is for YOUR benefit. If you hit a plateau and want to go back through your diary for clues as to what you were changing up, or doing differently, when you were NOT at a plateau, you wouldn't have all the information. Do it for…

You are changing in ways that you will see and some that you will not. The biggest change that you have made thus far is your committment to yourself. But, yes, you can definitely see the changes in your face, your chin and your neck! Great work so far!

Definitely need to look at more of these later!

I usually use avocado and some pickle juice - but I will definitely be trying this!

I believe, for me, sugar is an important factor. I've been here on MFP for 18 months now and at first I lost 10 pounds a month and then it slowed down and I was okay with that... but around December 2011 I started reading "Eat to Live" and it was a great book with wonderful information. I started trying to incorporate more…

Everything everyone has already stated is valid and should be heeded. If it's only been 1 week, that could be anything. Absolutely anything. For me, I went 4 months going up and then down the same 6 pounds and I was mostly eating at or under my calories... not always. But I was eating pretty clean and trying to eat as raw…

OK - so I'm vacillating back and forth on this drug trial. On the one hand, I could lighten my HS symptoms and lessen the breakouts... but... really, how often do I get them...? Not too often that I can't "deal" with it. Yes, it is horrible but this drug is NOT GOING TO CURE it. On the other hand, I am trying to not put…

I currently have 3 cat-babies. I have lived with many others and all my cats are indoors cats so they live a long healthy life. In the past 3 years I have had to say goodbye to 3 of my "elders" - Stevie, female Maine coon who lived to be 21 years old; Ragamuffin (Muffy), a Japanese bobtail (well, she was born like that but…

I actually have not read any of her books. My father was not a reader (for fun) and that may be my block with this writer because he was so caught up in her... I will give it a real shot as my next book. Currently not reading anything so I suppose that means it is up to bat now.

My middle name is Ayn because my father was reading that book when they were bandying about names for me... yet I only just downloaded it and I cannot get past the first 2 pages... I'm an AVID reader... what's the clue to this one?

I'm dealing with this every day. I agree with jazzalea - you can do this. This is very much a disease and it is a control issue. It is currently controlling us. You have to decide that you are more worth the wait than the weight. I cannot say that I have conquered this, for I struggle with it daily but I am able to resist…

One of the best things I can say is that you can find a lot of good information on this site. There are quite a few people who are willing to help. There are those that are not of course, which boggles my mind because this is a site for people to help each other out after all, but you will have to wade through the chaff.…

Today I made a small salad - chopped up kale, 3 or 4 strawberries sliced up, 3 sundried figs sliced up & a sprinkle of chopped walnuts... drizzle a little raspberry vinaigrette over that and you have a very yummy snack.

Turned 48 a few months back and I feel more real these days than I ever have. I hear younger people complain all the time and I just laugh to myself because they had better start working on healthy now so they CAN complain later.

I've been on the weight loss see-saw many times in my life and the one constant for ME (each individual is different) was weighing myself daily. When I felt like I had "messed up" I would skip weighing myself for a day or two... and then that would turn into not weighing myself for a week and then I would be in the…

I use the Body Fortress Chocolate Peanut Butter which is great for making a chocolate shake out of -- Just use one scoop plus your almond milk and half a banana and about 10 ice cubes in a blender and crunch it up! YUM! I also use Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein Powder... I haven't tried that by itself in Almond milk but I do…

I have a few reasons why: 1. You aren't logging in regularly 2. We don't seem to have any common ground other than weight loss 3. You UNDER eat all the time - I can't congratulate you on this and if I can't interact with you we have nothing in common besides wanting to lose weight. 4. You talk too much on your status... I…

I am so very proud of your efforts. Each day you logged in and logged food and ensured that you were paying attention to your life - and that made all the difference in the results. Congratulations on your success! Excellent job.

I saw 2 doctors over this over the past 3 years... after the 2nd doctor telling me I needed to get custom orthotics for my shoes I was ready to do it... but that was shortly before I started exercising almost every day. Since I started exercising (Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVDs) and eating better I have very few…

I know from having gone for a consultation (3+ years ago) that there is more to the surgery than just surgery - there is 6 months worth of preparatory psychologist's appointments and nutritionists appointments and you are also supposed to try to lose weight on your own during those 6 months. I also know from having been to…

So hard to answer because there are so many spectacular places in the US... of course I have only been to a couple of them!!! I loved Southern Maine - and I'm sure I would love Northern Maine too... as long as I had all that I needed to be able to get around in the brutal winters! I loved Monterey CA when I was there 17…

I happen to have 3 turnips sitting in my veggie drawer right now - and this is a nice thing to try for dinner tonight!!!!

I'm obviously unsophisticated or highly untravelled (or maybe both) - but I never even considered kangaroo as a dinner choice... EVER! (yes, I don't eat deer either!) I do eat meat. I am not a vegetarian - but had I never eaten meat until I could make the decision for myself -- yeah, I would never have eaten it... animals…

That tuna sounds delicious. I haven't tried it with the Greek yogurt... I've done it with avocado and all of the other items though - this as well as chicken salad!!! (well, instead of relish I use pickles cut up and some pickle juice) All yum!

This sounds like it is right up my alley! Thanks for posting. (edit typo)
