  • I was an ER/urgent care nurse, and recently left the bedside to be a nurse manager/mentor. I can honestly say, don't count it. It was apart of my "routine" as soon as I started a desk job, without changing my diet, I began to gain. I am on my way back down, but truly, its not a good idea to count it. I had no idea what an…
  • I am 5'3" I weigh currenlty 153.. I would like to weigh 145, (that would be a BMI of normal for my frame) I have a large frame, and always looked good despite weighing much more then people imagined. SO.. I think if I hit 145.. I will be ecstatic.. if I get lower.. awesome.. for now.. 145 is my goal.. and see how that…
  • This is an awesome topic.. I didn't have huge boobs.. but after dropping the last 20.. the shriveled up into what I coin "sunny side ups" I went from a 36D/38C to a B34!!!!!!!!! And honestly .. in 20 lbs.. I am currently 10 from a BMI of normal.. but it still really sucks.. I love this thread.. thanks for sharing everyone!
  • My husband has lost 65lbs in 6 months. He lifted weights basically only.. He started cardio recently as his weight loss slowed. He did do a bit of cardio in his weights.. I would do that for now.. as in do high leg raises between sets or lunges, or squats minus weight for a bit of cardio to ease back in.. I am not an…
  • I gained 6... I earned it.. I definitely overate, and was sick with a nasty chest cold that I couldn't exercise because of shortness of breath.. but I am accountable today and I am back to full tracking, and here is hoping I can lose it all by the end of the month and maybe more.. I know a lot of it was not drinking water,…
  • I get on the scale almost daily.. I tend to lose focus, and need that as a motivator when I am not feeling "on plan" it helps when I have slipped to get back on track, and when I am doing well.. it makes me more interested in going the distance.. today, back at my lowest (0.2 under) but won't track till a significant…
  • This is a good concept! Making M.D.'s accountable to help promote heath.. I realize you can lead a horse to water but not make them drink.. but If you doctor was asking, checking in, and making sure you were "on track" or when you had an excuse, he provided a solution..maybe more people would be pushed that little bit to…
  • You are amazing.. thanks for sharing.. I am having a rough week.. and needed some strong people to inspire me.. thanks :)
  • I was thin, probably 9 lbs lighter then by current.. but I have lost almost 32 lbs since my son, and 19lbs since MFP.. I remember my gym teacher (at that weight) telling me to be careful as I was overweight (wearing a size 8) and very fit and muscular.. and it was tough to swallow.. I didn't think I could get any lower…
  • Lucky for all of you guys! I drank last weekend.. and I had been sooooo good all week, didn't over do it on food.. and exercised to make up for my booze.. and I gained 3.8 that weekend!!!!!! I have lost 2 lbs of the "gain" and currently I am 1.8 from my lowest..but it has hurt my ego.. and makes me not want to drink....but…

  • I have clothes I use as goals.. I think it works because you aren't letting anyone down, your letting yourself down, and sometimes that is all you need. I started a month ago with a pair of jeans, then I bought a dress a few days ago, its a bit tight, but does up.. since the christmas party season is upon us, I want to…
  • Its so hard, I totally understand.. I feel the same way.. but what the above poster wrote is excellent advice.. I may just add that to my profile as a reminder :)
  • If your child still naps, rest when he/she does.. Go to bed early.. eat healthy, and try to not over do it on exercise the next few days.. I had found that if you really exert yourself when you are in the pre sick stage, you tend to get full sick.. the zinc/vit c not a bad idea... rest, and time is the cure.. it sucks.. I…
  • Bump, nice picture.. looks very good!
  • WOOT WOOT! Looking hot!!!!!!!! That is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
  • I have a scale by weight watchers I purchased at Walmart. When I was following the weight watchers program, I used to weigh myself the day of weigh in at home first. They were only .2 apart! So, I would recommend it for sure. It goes in .2 of a lb so on small loss weeks at least there is a loss. Tamara

  • Chips, and Nutella, I could literally eat a whole container of nutella in one day.. Also, cow candies.. they are a polish candy that you can buy at Denningers in Hamilton ON.. I have no will power with those things.. they only have 3 ingredients butter, sugar, and vanilla....mmmmmmmmmmmmm cow candies.. I asked my partner…
  • agree totally.. I personally eat most of mine, and I am losing at a good rate.. try not to eat all of them..but if you do some day end up in a deficit, don't worry.. I end up in a deficit here and there, and I am still losing!
  • Everyone gave great advice! Some food for thought would be that possibly you have exercise induced asthma. Most people don't realize it ( I didn't ) and go on through life not knowing.. Some signs you may have it are, frequent chest colds that you tend to lose your voice, or that colds tend to go to your lungs.. Lived in a…

In fact, 2 days ago I was 162.8... I HAVEN'T been that low since college!!!!! I have a ways to go, and I may run into some snags, but I am glad I…
  • btw, as a nurse in ER, I have seen many people unhappy with Mirena, though it works for many, it leaches birth control hormones, for those who can't tolerate the pill, this option may fail for you due to the unwanted mood and symptom issues. However, I am aware that for others who suffer with heavy periods, it can be an…
