Washing machine and dryer ? Mine has been shutting off during my workouts.

Hi question: I have an ft7 and lately it just tells me to check my HRM because it can't find my HR. I bought it in April. I've read comment that I should put it in the washing machine but do I have to put it in the dryer as well ?!
