I was curious, so I did a search. "ketogenic diets and dementia" This was the first return - From the National Institute of Health - Neuroprotective and disease-modifying effects of the ketogenic diet - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2367001/ This article isn't about dementia per say but it does touch on…

OP have you spoken to your Dr.? I do low sugar and low carb for medical reasons. I never would have done it or even thought it was possible for me to do it at all without several Drs. telling me this was the best way for me to stay healthy. That being said, I feel better than I ever have! My energy is much better without…

I didn't realize you were supposed to do that! It makes sense though. Now I want to go tea (and teapot) shopping :)

Loved my nose ring! Pierced it for the first time in college in 1990 and then again in 2010. I had to take it out for teaching. I live in a very conservative area. If we move, and it is allowed by the school district, it will be back :)

I love tea. I have found, as I get older, that Lipton doesn't do it for me any more. I like teavana because you can make your own blends. Just be careful, I tried a chai blend they had made and wanted to get it. The one type of chai was over $100/lb, ouch! However, other teas were reasonably priced :). I just think it's…

Haha! I love it. That is the perfect answer. I say if it makes you feel good go for it! Fashion is all about confidence. And, of course, not "gyrating around in a boob tube at the queue in the supermarket or post office". No one looks good doing that

You are not a freak of nature! :). Glad you got it figured out. And you are not alone. I have seen so many of these bra threads lately, it seems a lot of us are confused.

I am a weird shape. I have large breasts and my legs have always been thin and I am short waisted. Basically, an inverted triangle shape with most of my 5'9" height in my legs. It doesn't matter where I shop I get attitude. For a long time I really liked buying shirts at Lane Bryant. But I started getting attitude from…

Yep I'm 5' 9" and I am slow! Little kids pass me. Who cares :) I don't need to be fast that's not why I'm doing it. I'm doing it because I want to be healthier, and now I think I'm kind of addicted. Had you told me a year ago I would be saying this, I would have laughed :)

I have noticed the same thing. What I have seen around the internet, and I'm not sure if this is correct, but I go by it rather than the app, is that you burn about 100 calories (roughly) per mile. Hope this helps :). It always feels like I am burning way more calories than I actually am.

My birthday is this coming weekend and my husband was very sad because I am low carb and low sugar on Dr's orders. I am planning on having this cake - http://www.cutthewheat.com/2014/03/german-chocolate-cupcakes.html with a cream cheese frosting. (Cream cheese, butter, and Swerve) that being said I am splurging a little.…

I think legs, tummy and bottom look thinner :). Good job

ahahah! we had dogs and cats and the dogs did that if we weren't on top of the litter, so gross! Didn't hurt them though, they were big old muts we rescued. One was around 17 (wild guess by the vet based on his teeth when we adopted him) The other 16 or so. Once again hard to tell. He went fast when his buddy died :( I…

I love hot yoga. I really enjoy regular yoga as well, though. The heat enables you to get into positions you wouldn't normally be able to get into. It feels wonderful too. It can be expensive if you go to a yoga studio, but the difference is worth it. The yoga studio near my house moved further away from me (and it was…

Cheese is my downfall all the time! I love cheese. My Dr. has me eating low sugar and low carb, I'm not giving up my cheese :)

Yummy, twix bars! I'm going to check that out. I have some swerve I picked up at whole foods. I was trying different sweeteners for my coffee. I didn't really like the taste of them in coffee. I figured I'd try baking with swerve. I am feeling a bit deprived, but it's pretzels and potatoes and those carbs I'm missing. :(.…

Sometimes I think the hardest thing to do before starting anything, is to quiet that negative nasty voice in our own heads that is so scared of change and/or failure that it will say anything so we don't take any risks. I think losing weight is really a tough thing. There is so much emotional baggage, habit, body chemistry…

Haha! If they can do that, how come someone can't make a bra that makes me look more "normal". Seriously, I take karate and feel ridiculous when we run. I also hate the fact that everything I wear looks like a tent :(. That's enough self pity for one day. I'm saving up for a reduction...

I only do for medical reasons.

I'm wondering the same thing. I am in my early 40's and between the PCOS and the endometriosis my fertility was destroyed. I was able to have one child, but soon after had to have a hysterectomy. So, my dreams of a big family are gone. I was told the horrendous pain I was in was "normal", "just part of being a woman" and…
-
This exactly.
-
I'll vote for shock absorber bras too. Great support for running, no pain.
-
I really hope mine will shrink! Herroom.com has good bras. Have you been measured lately? They have really good instructions too. I didn't see your size but if you have been losing weight you may be smaller.

I was told to stay under 7 sugars at a time and wait at least 2 hours before more sugar. It's hard. There are a lot of Greek yogurts that are under this sugar limit that don't have artificial sweeteners (I know that is a concern for many.). Chobani simply 100 has several different flavor switch less than that. Feel free to…

Point taken. There just seems to be a lot of anger about it and I don't understand it.

I guess I'm pro weight loss surgery if you need it. But I'm not crying in my Cheerios. I just have empathy for people's struggles regardless of whether or not they had weight loss surgery. I'm not a Dr. so I'm not planning on telling anyone whether or not or have WLS. I just don't think it's my right to judge people who do…

What is wrong with people? Seriously?! You gotta wonder, wasn't there anything he could have been doing besides harassing random women and killing the few brain cells that are still functioning in his head. Don't worry about cruel people like him. I know it's hurtful, but ask yourself, do you really care what some jerk…
-
Honestly, brought tears to my eyes. Good for you you have overcome so much.
-
Wow, I don't think having a surgery is any kind of an easy way out. As a culture we are way to worried about other peoples' lives. A person having weight loss surgery might cost us tax money but so do the complications from obesity. There are plenty of more ridiculous things tax money is spent on.

Bob Dylan said don't hate nothing at all except hatred. I am most definitely a geeky, reading, tea drinking (loose leaf or bagged doesn't matter), music listening, technophile. I am married with a child but I firmly believe that love is in short supply in this world, love whomever you want.
