This is what's working for me. I have come again to MFP since I gained all over again. I have put my calories to maintenance. I want to get back into the habit of logging everything. Maybe it doesn't work for me because every time I'm shivering cold, I end up drinking hot chocolate and the pastries always accompany that too! :D

Eat your dinner, don't starve. So you didn't stay within your daily calories today, try again tomorrow. Like Seska said, it's a learning process. Just log your dinner and eat it.

You could always just NOT log for one meal and enjoy it. Start all over again Friday morning. One huge meal isn't going to kill ALL your progress. We didn't get fat by eating only one meal... it took MANY!!
