Ditto what the others said about eating closer to your daily calorie goals. As you lose weight, your calorie goals will go down. One thing that concerned me was your sodium levels. They are always above your maximum allotment for the day and many times 2-3 times your daily amount. You are probably retaining fluid. But…

Good to know. Also what the other lady said about it being an anti-inflammatory. Great info. Thanks

My friends do it with boiling water and fresh squeezed lemon juice. It's like a herbal drink or something. I think it helps them as they are at their goal weights and don't have problems maintaining. Just mentioning this seems to work for my friends. I would do it if using bottled concentrated lemon juice worked (which I…

If you overcooked chicken, and if you like BBQ sauce you can cut up the chicken into bite sized pieces and put it in a dish or zip lock bag. Put a few tablespoons of water and BBQ sauce and shake and then cover and heat up in the microwave ... Maybe 1 min 15 secs. Don't overheat it. You can also make a casserole with…

Marinade skinless, boneless chicken in lemon juice. (About 30 minutes .... Don't leave it for many hours or your chicken will be yucky - I did it for 6 hours once and it was a mistake). Put rice crispies in a zip lock bag and crush them. Then put your chicken in the bag to coat with the crushed cereal. Put on baking dish.…

Take boneless, skinless chicken breasts and cut them into four strips each (I use kitchen scissors). Wrap each piece with a strip of bacon (turkey bacon works also). Arrange a single layer in a glass or ceramic baking dish. Mix a can of cream of mushroom soup with about 1/4 of water. Pour over chicken/bacon and bake at 325…

I may try this; but my stressors are still going to be present and I don't foresee them going away anytime soon, so I have to figure out how to stop or lessen the release of cortisol (which I am certain is occurring). Thanks

I'll ask her tomorrow when I see her. I don't like taking drugs because they have so many after affects on things. That's what messed me up after having radiation and surgeries years ago. Maybe she will have some other suggestions. *crosses fingers

So, if we have chronic stressors in our lives (and it sounds like you do), what do you suggest to help us lower our cortisol levels? And is that the same as adrenalin (fight or flight response)? Thanks
-
Thanks for posting your question. I can relate. I hope things become less stressful for you over time. I do find eating healthier foods helps me cope better. My faith and hope in God helps too; but I am still learning to hope and trust, as it is a daily thing (moment by moment at times). I find I either crave junky things…

My son would have muscle cramps and it was a lack of calcium. Be careful taking potassium supplements without your doctors input as it can affect your heart. I was low in potassium before a surgery and it was delayed until they brought up my levels (by prescription supplements). A good natural source of potassium is…

Daily because I'm trying to also track my water retention in association with what I eat. I hope to take my measurements twice a month.

I'm also interested. Thanks

Very interesting. Thanks for posting.

Congrats and I'm glad your partner is supportive and is concerned for your entire well-being. Hats off to him for getting you to eat healthier.

My mother has a good recipe that she makes in tart shells (all homemade). I'll see if I can get the recipe from her. I wish I knew how to tag a post so I can come back to this post easily. Lol.

I am interested also. Maybe post your question in a more general forum (not the hypo one). I would be interested in economical meals also (along with exercise options that are economical).

Congratulations !!

I'm looking for a new scale too. Thanks for making this post.

Incredibly great job!! You've done wonderful!! Great inspiration for the rest of us. Thanks for sharing ☺️

Perhaps 1,200 is too low for you, considering your activity levels and already feeling tired. I would suggest contacting your doctor and having your bloodwork checked, just to be sure everything is okay. It could be that you are low in something and by taking a supplement you could feel much better. I'm learning low cal…

I've only had it with brown sugar and milk. My dad used Splenda on his. We usually have a bowl of fruit on the side. For me, I like my oatmeal hot. Enjoy the different options people are mentioning.

"Yep, it happen to me ended up in the ER and had to stay a whole day while they did the IV, but I wasn't on a diet it just happen. Low potassium can mess with your heart. OP I suggest you eat more and get that potassium higher. Edited by Serah87 On August 31, 2014 6:12 PM" Totally agree with the poster. I'm not sure if you…

Try taking it before bed with a little food or switch brands. I had similar problems with nausea and switching times worked for one, and switching brands worked for another. Take care.

I think it is one of the better ones. I like it because it has some protein (peanut butter). It's mostly just chocolate, icing sugar and peanut butter, so it's still not exactly healthy; but I consider it one of the better ones. I use them when I am hypoglycaemic and need to bring my sugars up fast before passing out. Take…

I read that your muscles can retain fluid. And there's also water retention in general. Your metabolism could be a bit messed up. I know mine is from having radiation but it is slowly starting to work better (not normally but better). Like the poster just before me said, it's slow and steady but eventually we will get…

Very inspiring. Congratulations! Great effort!
