  • This! but I also noticed the fried rice... Most chinese will sub that out for steamed white/brown rice instead... WAY less calories... Feel free to add if you need motivation or another MFP friend.
  • If you have been under for weeks then I would say it's not a big deal at all. Though the fish sandwich is yuck yuck yuck but that's my opinion  ... When I have been crazy busy I have stopped at McDs on my way home but I got a 4 piece chicken nugget (with honey) and small fry - no drink and that filled me up…
  • HRM I know everyone loves polar and they are the best my boyfriend has gone through 2 over the years (he likes to upgrade:wink:) but I didn't want a polar because I don't want to have to send off to change the battery (though the newest model you don't have to) and I didn't want to spend a crazy amount of money so I did…
  • My boyfriend wears them constantly and runs in them all the time... He absolutely LOVES them!! The only small complaint I have even heard him say is that on longer runs it hurts a bit because of no padding but he'll run 10+ miles without batting an eye... Good luck to you@
  • The HRM is the easiest way to track and it does tell you straight out how many calories you have burned but you definately want one with a chest strap! Until then it sounds like what you are doing is strangth training... circuit training also involves cardio because you go from one strength exercise to the next with out a…
  • I don't know what your target heart rate should be but 60 bpm is WAY TOO LOW for exercise!! 60 is a resting heart rate.. I would say over 100 but for each person it is different. I did a google search for target heart rate and there were several links for charts and calculators. try one of those and see what you get Good…
  • Love this thought!! Great job!!
  • Thanks Notgoddess that's what I was thinking you might be doing. it's pretty easy I got 1.5 so I started subtracting out the rest calories today which was a good day to start since my HRM finally arrived!! First work out was 779 on HRM for 50 mins of Zumba and then subtracting 75. I still had 704 for the workout which is…
  • Since he is 8 I am betting that he just wants to do it because he hears mom and dad doing it... Something like /\ /\ /\ this would let him feel involved but keep it on a kid level. Also as a health teacher I think you might give him a food pyramid and track how many food groups he's eating everyday. This would be a healthy…
  • Doing ok on this week's goal but I'm not counting water past 8 cups (i didn't realize I was drinking so much!) because I end up losing count lol.... Monday Rest Day 8+ cups Tuesday 41 min 567 Cals 8+ cups Wednesday 60 min 791 Cals 8+ cups Totals 101 min 1358 cals 24+ cups I'm really glad I found this group it's really…
  • When I do an average aerobic workout I burn like you around 200-300 BUT when I want to kick it up a notch I to a full hour of something like zumba where at times I feel like my heart is about to pump right out of my chest (in a good way - not the bad I'm about to have a heart attack way ). I obviously weigh…
  • Everyday but I record once a week and only in the morning after a restroom break - though i know some people can't handle the fluctuations it really doesn't bother me but keeping track of it helps keep me on track. Each time I have seriously failed on losing weight the first thing I did was stop weighing myself so if it…
  • Looks good and I love ginger ale!
  • Lost 1.6# last week and went over on calories burned by just over 100 cals. Looking forward to this week but I'm hesitant about the water aspect. I seldom keep track of how much water I drink. Normally I grab a bottle from the fridge and when it is not cold enough anymore I put it back in the fridge and grab another one.…
  • Nothing I have eaten today had added sugar it was all natural. The only 2 processed foods I had today (Crackers and FF Cream Cheese) only had 1g combined and it was in the Cream Cheese so i am betting it was milk sugar (can't remember how to spell the proper name for milk sugar) Thanks this is really good info!
  • This is a great idea! I might just do this that way I don't have to look at it anymore either!
  • Glad to see some people have more pet than I do. I don't know how to post photos in a post yet but i have 2 dogs and 5 cats. Abbey Gail - 5yr old Red Pitbull - Found emaciated wandering the streets Aspyn Layne - 3 yr old White American Bull Dog Boxer Mix - adopted from a shelter to be Abbey's companion Cobalt Blue - 9 1/2…
  • WOW! I don't really know what to say but WOW! I don't think people should offer unsolicited advice. We are here to support each other not tear each other apart and if no one asked for advice no one should be giving it especially in a negative way. This is why I keep mine on private. I could care less if people see what I…

  • I complete get what you are saying! Last summer I lost 30 pounds but then I gained back 40. The problem was I lost it the wrong way (HCG Diet) and the entire new wardrobe I bought myself last August no longer fit me in October. This summer I have been doing it the right way and i have lost 25 pounds and I can almost fit…
  • I would go with the package you have BUT make sure you are using the "POPPED" calorie values... I know on my microwave popcorn it gives 2 values one for unpopped corn and one for popped corn... The unpopped will be higher in calories hope this helps!
  • You can eat anything in the world you want and lose weight as long as you have a calorie deficit at the end of the day. BUT It's not healthy. You need many different nutrients and you can't get them all unless you are eating a variety of foods. If you have an aversion to veggies and fruits I would suggest finding the one…
  • I agree with this! I had sweet and sour chicken LAST NIGHT. It is my chinese weakness and, boy, it was Yummy! IN the end I was still UNDER on calories and I had a good sized portion but I workout alot yesterday and by the end of the day I had a tons of calories left over and I didn't think I could eat them all with a…
  • I have one. I don't regret getting one but I regret the placement and partially the design. I wanted a frog b/c I love frogs. But I rushed into getting it at 19 and don't like the design so much now wish it was more cartoon-like. I placed it on the inside of my right ankle as low as the tattoo artist was willing to place…
  • I have a very hard time eating first thing in the morning. Right now I am off work so I have been cooking breakfast (though it doesn't take long because I hate to cook) all in one pan. Now part of this may seem odd but as a kid my mom used to cook hot and egg for breakfast for me I have adapted it for healthier eating 1…
  • I did only wii fit and active 2 years ago and it worked until I got bored doing the same few things over and over again. Now I have an arsenal of different things to do and the wii is my back up workout especially when I was hoping to burn a certain number of calories for the day but my regular workout fell short I would…
  • Is Mandarin Buffet a chinese restuarant?? If so you can look up what (for example) beef lo mein is on average and use that as a guide... I have to do that when I eat chinese or sushi because both places I go to are small mom and pop establishments - cheep and yummy. PLus I work out extra those days so i can enjoy myself!
  • Great question! Wish I would have seen this early! I got Zumba Wii in the mail today and I had to try it... I logged it as aerobic dance with modern twist or whatever the full title is and it gave me around 460 kcal credit but this calculator says over 600 (WAY OVER) I though 460 seemed a little low based on the other…
  • I've never made this but I have been dieing to try the Hungry Girl Mississippi Mug Pie..... Here's a link to the recipe http://www.hungry-girl.com/newsletters/raw/1447 If you try it let me know how it is!
  • Cracker Barrell is the hardest place for me to eat with my SO who LOVES cracker barrell especially since they offer no nutritional information and vague claims on what meals are "healthy." For lunch I have gotten the grilled chicken tenderloin sandwich and then I don't eat all the bread just a little to satify my carb…
