Thankfully, my tall slender 18 year old daughter avoided the food issues that faced alot of her friends. While sharing a hotel room with 3 other girls for a recent choir field trip she was appalled at how they starved themselves. After seeing how much my daughter actually eats they were shocked. They wanted to know what…

I would post it for the nutritional value and not worry so much about the calories. Even eating the "worst" fruit is not going to be what undermines your success. The benefits of the fruit and veggies is far out weighed by the calories. A friend is on Jenny Craig and will eat all sorts of prepackaged cr*p but heaven forbid…

Bunny's tend to be a little bottom heavy so biting off their heads shouldn't have as many calories. lol

Ooh so good!

Never watched it but I love my vitamix since it uses the whole fruit. It's great to have a smoothy, soup, or dessert that is quick and easy without messing up my diet.

Last time we were at DL I logged an average of 20 miles per day so I don't fret over a little splurge. We generally hike to Bubba Gumps on Katella for lunch - return to the park and hike to Tony Roma's across the street for dinner and then back to the park. I try to make good food choices but we do so much power walking…

For many years I ate a balanced diet over the course of a week but maybe not on any given day. I thought I felt great but then I tried to eat a balanced diet everyday. I was surprised at how much better I felt. Now if I have an unbalanced day I really notice how much worse I feel. I kind of equate it to oil in my car. Yes…

Here is the list I've compiled so far. Of course there is no magic food but I am trying to include these foods prepared in a healthy way as often as I can. Apples, Apricots, Artichokes, Asparagus, Beet Greens, Beets, Blackberries, Blueberries, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts , Buffalo Fish, Cabbage, Cantaloupe, Carrots,…

Hi, I have an instant hot water dispenser so for a quick poached egg I just fill a cup or small bowl with hot water, drop in an egg or two, and zap .in the microwave for 30 seconds for one or 60 seconds for two. I don't miss the vinegar at all. And it's become my favorite way to eat eggs.

Count me in! I love the Friday weigh in's I'm starting at 170.5 I am just learning about 0-cal foods and am doing a research project on them for April. I am going to try to work more of them into my diet where possible. I'm not an extreme dieter so I'm not going to eat ONLY these foods but I am intrigued and motivated to…

Although I am not Italian biologically my Mom was raised in Chicago surrounded by Italians so it strongly influenced our home. I like to make homemade pasta and could easily eat it everyday. I just stumbled onto Ronzoni Smart Taste at Safeway only 170 cal for 2oz. Lowest cal count I've found and it tasted great. I do want…

Decades ago I lost alot of weight and I understand what you are feeling. Maybe I am projecting my experience into your situation but in my case those feeling you expressed stemmed from all of the emotional things that came up as a thinner person that did not exist when I was heavier. I did not realize until I lost the…

One of the biggest things I've learned is it's OK if I am not "perfect" all the time. I try to log accurately and consistantly as often as I can. I don't intentionally shave calories because that underminds my success. Sometimes, I've left off the details and just entered a calorie estimate. I like the fact that it tracks…

Hi Hun - My heart goes out to you! I am taking things really slow (I've lost 10 pounds since the first of the year) and sometimes have been frustrated by my friends who do more aggressive diets and drop 10 pounds in a week. But I have also watched them gain it all back and more. Make sure you make good food choices and get…

Make your own custom blend of tea and fruit slices, ginger, fruit peels, cayenne, cinnamon, herbs, flowers, etc. It's amazing what great combinations you will come up with. I've started making it in larger quantities because my family thinks is so yummy.

I've had a vitamix for more than 30 years. Mind you it was "old and well used" when I got it. Although it still works perfectly I bought a new one about 15 years ago. I gave my old one to my niece. It is a little pricey up front but well worth it. Reconditioned ones cost a little less. Although you can get by with other…

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful info. I am an independent accountant and sometimes I have to chose between eating late or not eating. Now I won't worry so much about it becaue I am staying with in my cal count

Later this summer my daughter will be having jaw surgery. She has not been able to chew in years because she cannot chew. She also found if she cut foods up small like you do for a toddler who doesnt have many teeth she could use her tongue and the roof of her mouth for soft foods. She has even cut up tender steak and…

Although it may be frustrating too see the number on the scale just thinks if you waited a few more months and you were at 700. Be thankful you made the decision to reclaim your life and are starting to lose weight today. There may be difficult days ahead but make a plan now on how you will face your worst days. Celebrate…

It looks yummy! I was planning on making pizza for the 49er game tomorrow and wanted to try a healthier crust. After seeing the calorie count I think I'll stick to my regular recipe. My dinner plate sized think crust pizza has only 250 calories. Nutrition wise your crust is better but I think I just make a salad on the…

Thanks for the ideas! I am on my own for dinner tonight and I was stumped as to what I should have. For some bazaar reason by hubby and kids won't eat sloppy Joe's and I love them. I will stop off at the store and pick up some supplies for a yummy dinner tonight. :)

Left over spinach quiche. I made it myself with egg beaters, spinach, onions, red peppers, and 2% milk. I put a tablespoon of artichoke-pepperoncini spread but otherwise no other cheese. I love homeade quiche that I don't need to feel quilty about eating. I am on a mission to perfect a carrot crust to make it extra yummy!…

I bought a stevia plant for $3.00 and it tastes great. The dried version does have a funny taste but the fresh plant is yummy! Also just found this at http://under400.tumblr.com/tagged/just_so_you_know "If you buy dry stevia sweetener in the US, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, chances are that your purchase is a product…
