If you love to bake there are endless options of good foods that can be baked and still be satisfying. I've converted many of our family favorites to healthier options quite easily. For example I've made no sugar no fat muffins using egg beaters, sweet fruits, or sugar free vanilla syrup, etc. I've also make a similiar…

So many come to mind...steam or grill your favorite veggies and pair with some lean protein such as fresh fish, shrimp, or boneless chicken breast. Endless seasoning possibilities. I am just starting to post recipes on my web site. Recently I made Salmon over Zucchini noodles with a Thai peanut sauce sprinkled with cashews…

Hi Friend, First off I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! I was raised in a warm loving family. Some extended family members were mean but my immediate family members were supportive and even defended me in front of them. Therefore I grew up having good self esteem. Once I met my husband's family I was shocked at how badly they could…

Thanks! I can see them now. You are beautiful in any case but I'm sure they will go down a bit in time. Who knows if you keep this up maybe you will become a bodybuilder and fill it out with muscle :D Keep doing what you are doing and God will take care of the rest.

Nice story but the pics are not visible on my computer. It says the images have been deleted from photobucket. Did you change your mind after starting the thread? In any case good luck. You will be at 5 pounders and beyond one day if you keep it progressing. Good Luck!

I sometimes make them with au gratin style with onions and a cream sauce. My favorite is with a horseradish cream sauce.

I don't go that often but I buy the kid's snack pack that has a small drink, about a cup and a half of popcorn, and a small candy. This way I still feel like I have had my treat but I'm not eating a whole bag and large drink. Since I plan for it I'm still within my calorie count.

I can't wait to try it!

That's awesome! Even when people don't say anything you know you are In the midst of an amazing transformation. Keep up the good work my friend.

I will even confess I do consume butter on occasion! My grandmother was raised on a farm and drank full fatted milk fresh from the cow and ate countless eggs. She also churned her own butter and made baked goods with sugar. She was thin all of her life because she ate in moderation and had a very active lifestyle. I…

The OP never said it was a magic cookie .... sugar free....fat free... gluten free....calorie free.... If you don't want to eat a cookie GREAT! Don't make them and don't eat them. There are a lot of recipes, recommendations, and advise that I don't agree with or would never choose to consume. We are all free to make the…

I would start with some easy things first. My Mom was a master gardener but I was not born with a green thumb. A few things that we easy to grow inspite of my poor skills were cherry/grape tomatoes, yellow squash, spinach, and lettuce. I have grown them in the ground and in containers. An added bonus is kids sometimes are…

I remember hating the cicadas invasion I endured as a kid. I vowed I would move before the next 17 year infestation and never visit during the invasions. I imagine they would taste like crickets but I prefer animal proteins. :drinker:

I grow my own stevia plant which tastes much better and I just puree it into the liquid. Works well with muffins and more cake type cookies

What a treat it would be to have a cake decorated by your mother and infused with love. Obviously she cares about you. At some point in your life you will be able to eat a low cal diet cupcake for your birthday. I'd gladly enjoy a slice of my mom's chocolate whipped cream (full fat & sugar) cake in a heart beat and eat…

I have always used the rule with my kids they need to taste something in order to make an informed decision as to whether they like it or not. Not just a speck of a taste on the tip of their tongue but a full bite swirled around their palate because of the varying placement of of taste buds and which areas detect which…

What you say is so true. For me it comes down to deciding what I WANT and not what someone else wants me to eat. Although my hubby is very supportive...when we were dating he was uncomfortable with the fact that I ALWAYS ordered water as my beverage in restaurants. He thought all sorts of crazy thoughts of why I did it and…

Sadly, this is probably just the tip of the iceberg. My advice is to be nice and polite when you are forced to be together knowing the guy will probably say something idiotic or rude. Coming up with a clever comeback, defending yourself, or trying to get him to see the err of his ways is futile. It's sad that your sister…

It sounds like a good idea UNTIL you are the one with the complications. Although most surgeries go well...some do not. Is it worth the risk of injury or worse..leavng your kids without a mother.... just for a little extra tissue when you are naked? Is it worth adding another barrier that could delay an early diagnosis of…

Unfortunately stoves can't usually get low enough and cookware is built to retain heat so it is difficult to simulate a crockpot. Eventhough $20 can be a lot of money when your budget is tight even saving spare change can help you get enough money to buy one at a garage sale or thrift store. Also if you have any churches…

Although the alternatives sound lovely sometimes you just need the real thing. I would make a mini portion in a fancy glass and eat it slowly with a gellato spoon. It is possible to make pudding without using an entire box if you do the math. I've found sometimes I'm even satisfied with making puddings 1/4 cup of 2% milk…
