  • Congratulations on being smoke free! That is an amazing accomplishment. I started doing yoga last year, and I still do it, although not as regularly. I take classes 1-2 times a month. I never thought I'd like yoga, because I'd rather do more vigorous cardio to burn more calories, but I had an amazing teacher back in New…
  • I've had a good day also. Went to the Y for a workout -- 10 min. arc trainer, 20 min. walking on treadmill at an incline and some push ups, planks, circuit training. Also got in a 3-mile walk during my lunch break. It is gorgeous and 70 degrees here today! Yogurt with fruit for b-fast, salad for lunch, just had a protein…
  • Hey, you lost 7 lbs! That's fantastic! :)
  • Wow, good job everyone!! I ended up staying in tonight and overate tons of junk food. and now feel gross and too full. HOWEVER, I logged the calories and will return to normal, healthy eating tomorrow. And I'll check back in here tomorrow. So thanks to you all for giving me a reason to keep myself accountable.
  • Yesterday I got in a 2.5 mile walk in the park plus a 30-minute elliptical workout. Today, I'm hoping to make it to the gym to do some strength training, but I may not have time to escape from my desk at work. I will take my kids to the pool tonight, which we do every Tuesday. I don't count it as exercise on MFP, but it…

  • Thank you for sharing your story! As others have said, it inspiring to read about how you've overcome those struggles. Congratulations, and I hope you continue to stay happy and healthy.
  • Congratulations! Yes, have fun. I love cruising!
  • I like this! Good choices!
  • a really good steak cooked medium rare, crab legs, a loaded baked potato, a bottle of bordeaux and creme brulee.
  • Just under the radar, I have my 2nd "marathon" completed for the month of January. To get to this one, I did: walking outside: 5 miles stationary bike: 5 miles elliptical: 5 miles treadmill: 3.2 miles rowing: 3 miles strength training: 3 miles yoga classes: 2 miles I do like to do this challenge on occasion because it…
  • Hi! I'm Rebecca, 35 y/o lesbian married with 2 kids. I log on daily and would love more friends, so feel free to add me! Just FYI, there is also an LGBT group (maybe more than one, I'm not sure) on MFP.
  • I'm still trying to finish my second "marathon" this month. I was out of town for a few days and then was sick, so the second half of this month has been tricky. I did hit the gym this morning and did 3 miles on the elliptical, 1 mile of rowing and 1/2 mile on the treadmill. I still need 8.7 miles to complete the second…
  • Wow, congratulations! You have a beautiful family and you look happy and healthy. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding also.
  • Hi Dan! Welcome to MFP!
  • I'm not an artist but the first thing that comes to mind would be like a strong pink/strong blue combination representing traditional gender roles? Just a thought. I hope you will share your creation here once you've finished. Good luck!
  • 1st marathon completed! stationary bike: 5 miles treadmill: 5 miles walking outdoors: 5 miles elliptical: 4.2 miles strength training (20 min. = 1 mile) = 4 miles arc trainer: 2 miles rowing (1609 meters = 1mile) = 1 mile total: 26.2 miles I am going to try to do a 2nd "marathon" before the end of the month. It may be…
  • Wow, that's awesome! I've reached a marathon in terms of miles, but because I'm sticking to my "no more than 5 miles per activity" rule, I still need 6 more miles, which I'm hoping to complete this week. But since I've reached my maximum miles for my normal activities (stationary bike, elliptical, treadmill, walking…
  • Oh Jo, I have no advice but I am so so sorry. Yes, it sounds like 2014 was the worst year ever. All I can say is 2015 will be better (it has to be, right?). I keep writing sentences and erasing them because I don't know what to write. 2010 was my horrible year -- my mom got sick and died suddenly, our little dog died, my…
  • That's awesome! I definitely can't wait until I reach "one-derland." Congratulations.
  • I was using our Wii fit a bit but since joining a gym, I don't really use it anymore. It's fun though! I liked the balance games and the yoga poses. Feel free to add me if you'd like, I'm also 35 and log on daily.
  • $127/month for our family membership (2 kids and 3 adults, which includes my mother-in-law) for the YMCA. We paid extra so that we can go to any location, although we really only go to the one closest to our house. It's worth it, I work out several times a week plus take the kids swimming a couple of times a week. Huge…
  • Hi Jagerin, welcome to MFP! I'm also with you about not eating meat too frequently. I grew up with three vegetarian sisters, so I got used to eating meat-free meals although I eat more meat now. And sometimes there is nothing better to me than a good steak! Good luck to you with your fitness goals.
  • Sounds good! We'll keep you accountable!
  • Cool! Yeah, I plan to check back in after the completion of my first "marathon." For me, the purpose is to put some variety into my workouts and push myself to get those miles in. Of course you can modify this challenge in a way that will make sense for you!
  • No takers, huh? That's okay, I'll be keeping track of my miles and will check back here once my first marathon is done. If anyone else wants to join in the challenge, you are welcome!!
  • Congratulations! That's awesome.
  • Congratulations! And on a completely shallow note, I love your dresses! Esp. the first purple one. :)
  • Amazing story! Congratulations to you on all you have achieved!
  • Congratulations! I like how the after picture is possibly in the same restaurant as the before picture. And as others have said, you both look younger. You are a beautiful couple, great job doing it together.
