Water is a big help for me!! And eating 100 calorie packs of peanuts help so much. Healthy fat and they calm down the cravings :)

Definitely not! I'm sure we can all relate to this. Let's be real, nobody wants to eat healthy. No one wants to work out. At least never in the beginning of your lifestyle change. That's just it. You have to realize that this will be a lifestyle change. That from this day forward you will have to put in effort into being a…

I'd love to have another friend who will encourage me to be better!

Even when I was sticks and bones in middle school I always noticed my thighs being 'huge'. No different now. I've learned to love them since they won't be going anywhere.

I prefer cheat meals. Usually one in the weekend. Having a whole day of eating whatever I wanted would make me go bananas and I probably would never get back on this site again.

I'm no expert on this topic, this is just my opinion. I think exercising at least a little everyday and having healthy eating habits is better than doing nothing and eating everything in sight. I try to walk around during my lunch break that way I am not literally sitting down for 8 hours a day (I'm a receptionist). Also,…

What he said. I love that I can have half a chocolate bar without thinking 'am I going to gain weight for this?'
-
Where are your veggies my friend??
-
I agree about the 90 calorie brownies not being very filling. I would so much rather just have a banana or half of a dark chocolate hershey's bar (95 cal).
-
Agreed. Can't see diary.

Get rid of all the junk in your house. If that's not a possibility then my suggestion is make little baggies (100 cal) of everything you have that way when you do start craving you are making a conscious decision to get another bag after you finish the first one. Instead of eating one huge bag all together. Sounds time…

I have gone without soda for two years and each time I take a small sip my throat burns. It's awful. I used to also eat Mc.Donald's everyday during my teen years and not long ago I tried some of my friends fries and couldn't handle it. They tasted like plastic. It almost made me sad. Mc.Donalds was my all time favorite…

http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2010/02/15/how-to-build-your-own-workout-routine/ Someone gave me this link and it was sooooo helpful! Maybe it can work for you as well :) When I first looking into lifting I too found it extremely complicated. I think the more research you do, the more you understand.

It's great to know now that soreness is not an indicator of a great workout. This makes me feel a lot better, especially since I'm a newbie and I could of gone months and months thinking this. So thank you all for that! I'm just doing a regular squat for now. No machines, no dumbbells, no medicine ball, etc. I really want…
-
It's just the fact that I'm sore when someone is showing me how to do a squat properly and then I'm not sore when I do them on my own. That's really the only thing I telling me I was doing them wrong.

Someone once told me it wasn't about motivation. If people went to the gym only when they felt like it, no one would ever go. It's about discipline. It's about saying you are going even if it's the last thing you want to do that day. Ever since I heard this I have had a new mentality. It's not up to how I feel. It's up to…

If I ask a trainer they just keep telling me that they can train me for so and so money and blah blah blah. I mean they do end up showing me.. but only after talking to them for 15-20 minutes (not kidding!) So I shouldn't be looking for soreness always? I really thought that's how one knew they had a great workout.

I would look DEEP into Advocare, I mean do some intense research, before getting involved with them. Like others have said.. it's pretty much a pyramid scheme.

This made me LOL

Great read! Thank you.

I seriously thought I was the only one on earth who loved Goldfish. Like, LOVVEEEE them. With that said, I remember someone told me to drink water before eating my meals (or snacks). More often than not you are just thirsty. Also, it helps if you tell yourself that you can't eat anything else before your least favorite…

Hey! I actually loved that. If that works for you, then it's not juvenile at all! I might try that system myself.
