  • I use Alli and I can't complain at all. Actually, I know many people who use Alli and it works. It's not really a "diet" pill and it's not a miracle pill either. I don't think there are any miracle pills out there and if they are, they aren't healthy!
  • 1400 may be a little high. I'm 199 and eating 1200 a day. I'm losing at a pretty steady weight. I would just vary and see what works best.
  • I'm in!! July - 199 Aug - 194
  • I LOVE THAT IDEA!! I should gain some self confidence and do the same. At least it would motivate me! :)
  • Mine says the same occasionally. However if my MFP says 1200 a day and sometimes I eat slightly under it (about 1100 or 1000) I doubt your body can go into starvation mode for those 100 or 200 calories, right?
  • Try eating a few carbs. If you're heavily working out or training, you also need carbs for energy. As for not losing weight, maybe you're losing inches. When was the last time you really lost any weight? If it's been only a short while, maybe you're stalled and need to vary what you're eating. You don't HAVE to eat all…
  • When I eat badly this happens to me, but not when I eat healthy. Something is probably making you bloated. Is what you're eating high in sodium?
  • I've read that you do gain a few pounds the first week you start working out. It happened to me when I started to work out too. I gained about 2lbs. I wish I could tell you why, but I don't know myself.
  • Thank you for posting this, because I wonder constantly about why my weight could be less one day and then 3lbs more the next when I'm eating on plan. I've always known it's not ACTUAL weight gain, but the curiosity was killing me! You also addressed some other questions I had. :)
  • I would have been a bit confused by this too. :) Don't worry about it!!
  • I eat 1200 calories a day (my doctor told me that at the weight I am eating 1200 calories a day until I get to 170 and then bumping it up to 1400 is what I should do) and I still sometimes eat a bit over because I"m hungry. I can't see how people can eat 500-900 and feel like they're satisfied. That's rather frightening,…
  • I agree, I think MFP should do something like this. Unfortunately, money is tight and I wouldn't send money into an individual that could just take the money and run. Too many scams going around these days unfortunately.
  • I've tried the green tea mix that goes into your bottled water and I feel like it tastes like paste. I drink it because I know it will help a bit, but I hate that it tastes like paste. :( I also dislike (strongly) hot tea. Blahhh. lol I feel like I'm the only one in the world who hates green tea.
  • Your body will definitely catch up!! :) I've always heard muscle weighs more than fat. I used to have a trainer that told me whenever I got down about how much I was working out vs what I was eating: It's not the pounds lost that counts, it's how you look and feel. You can lose inches without losing pounds. :)
  • I'm glad that stick thin is out because I have always felt that curvy women are REAL women. Not the stick thin models you see in magazines. In the past, it has completely brainwashed women to think THAT is the ideal body type. Not true. Curves are always sexy!
  • Whenever I hit a plateau like that I either have one "cheat" meal. When I say "cheat", I don't mean go have a huge 3,000 calorie McDonalds meal... I mean maybe eat something higher in calories than you would. Honestly, I go to Wendys and get one Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger. That's ALWAYS helped me. It's just difficult because…
  • I've lost 27lbs to date and I have to get rid of my fat clothes too. :) I put them all in boxes and *tried* to sell them at my garage sale. Unfortunately, all the people who came were either larger than the sizes I had or smaller than the sizes I had. I'd hate to just throw them out and I'd hate to donate them when a lot…
