  • Will have to try some of these :)
  • I was going to add a variation of this 1 too :) I've spent too much of my life in instant gratification mode....I want the chocolate NOW, I'll improve myself later.....
  • Surprised no one else has mentioned my favorite.... "A year from now you will wish you started today"I start this journey again every day :)
  • It depends on the company atmosphere and your relationship with your boss. If it's overall a tense place, you could say something to the effect of "I don't think comments on my eating/health habits are appropriate for a professional atmosphere". That would have stopped a previous boss of mine in her tracks because the…
  • Awesome!!! We haven't been successful in expanding our family yet but haven't given up hope. I hope to be down to a healthy weight and in a proper habit so that I can be a better example for my kiddos someday-You can't preach what you don't do. I've actually thought about doing an ongoing letter to my future kids...about…
  • My main weakness is chocolate. I don't like to not have it around the house because if I don't have any available then I feel deprived and am not as successful long-term. BUT-I had my husband lock up the sweets and only he has the key so the craving I just had 10 minutes ago went away because he's at work and I'm outta…
  • This! I still don't look anywhere where I want to...but I just saw some pictures of me a couple Christmases ago and wow!
  • Today's 30 minute "speed shopping" on a tight schedule: spaghetti squash, ground turkey, part skim ricotta, part skim mozzerella (add pasta sauce which we have at home and you have spaghetti squash lasagna-a new favorite of mine-so filling and tasty! And good calorie-wise)....also portabella mushrooms (use the caps as mini…
  • 100tolose-get some working out done :) And 1 thing I've utilized this week-carrying over calories. It's not like my body has a definition of what a "day" is. The other day I couldn't keep myself off of some snacks at a get-together and the M&Ms had the best of me. I "made" a new food entry on my diary that is calories I'm…
  • 1) Do they taste good enough to make it worthwhile? I echo what someone else said about cardboard store-bought cookies not being worth the calories. I've realized after the last few birthday parties I've been to that the cake just isn't worth it (unless my MIL is making it, then it's worth starving a week for lol) 2) Do…
  • Check with the restaurant. I emailed the restaurant that I went to last night because their nutritional menu is not caught up to their current menu. Tons of help :)
  • Really hard to not go overboard when the boss is footing the bill ;) Tonight we have my work Christmas party. I've contacted the restaurant about the menu, planned what I will order, and what I'll take home in a doggie bag. After that is a church Christmas party (man is December over-booked!) and that will be hard to not…
  • haha, thanks guys! FYI-they emailed me back already and now I know that 1 thing I wanted is no longer on the menu and 1 I wanted has less calories than I thought so it might be my choice now ;)
  • I was engaged for less than 3 months...and I didn't have any problems finding something I loved in my size and have plenty of time for alterations that I wanted done. Might depend on how picky you are though.
  • It can be hard! I've been pretty slow in my loss lately. I just have to remember where I want to be. I'm 25 pounds down and in another 25 pounds I can say that I probably haven't weighed that little since early high school. I want it, I just have to remind myself of it!
  • I've heard before cooking. I'm curious though about people weighing produce-do you weigh a whole apple, or after it has been cored...or does it matter that much?
  • I got on the scale mentally prepared to gain weight and still lost .4lbs. My MIL said she noticed I had nice small portions at Thanksgiving dinner :) Though it was a family fest Wednesday-Sunday so several days without tracking! I suppose skating with family once and all the sales shopping throughout the week balanced it…
  • ooh, I've thought of some more (I could get so rich!) The Plain Popcorn Diet Popcorn is a whole grain and a good source of fiber. For 1 whole meal a day, you can only eat plain popped corn-no salt or butter. The Eat-Your-Weight Diet You can eat as many grams as you weigh every other day. i.e. if you weigh 200 pounds, you…
  • I vote this! X days will be fasting days. Or how about the 1-2-3 diet: Day 1, you eat 1000 calories in 1 meal. Day 2, you eat 500 calories in 2 meals (so 1,000 total). Day 3, you eat 250 calories in 3 meals (750 total). Or the bird diet. Based on a 10 question survey, find out which bird you should eat like (mmmm....worms,…
  • *Is disappointed this died*
  • I wonder this all the time! I have a big mirror in my bedroom (like to be able to see how the clothes looks ya know.....without having to go into the bathroom). Not that I use that-I use a timer.
  • Remember how far you've come and where you want to go. maybe put a before/after picture in with your wallet so when you grab some to get a chocolate bar you re-think it. Try new foods and pre-cooking like you do is a great idea. My recommendation is to cook big meals and freeze some so it's more variety-cook 2 or 3 times a…
  • I hurt my foot back in early september just by walking...didn't have $ to go to a dr, but my family and nurse/medical school friends all thought it was plantar fasciitis. I had my 2nd 5k (still pretty heavy and new to this weight loss business) to jog and I was so bummed. Truth be told, I still did it. I told myself I…
  • Wii Just Dance was the only reason I bought my Wii set a few years back after the fun of exercising :)
  • 1-go to the in-laws. The leftovers stay with them. 2-don't waste time on things I don't like (which can be hard because my MIL is a fantastic cook). 3-drink lots of water on the day of.... 4-pre-portion out leftovers if you have any so you don't just slap yourself a plate of 3 cups of mashed potatoes and call it good.
  • I had thought about stacking butter ( the whole-fat to fat comparison) but didn't want to get more funny looks with pulling them all off the shelf lol.
  • Same here. Eating what I want-just counting the calories and walking/biking/etc. Very little pop or juice.
  • marking to remind myself to look on youtube later ;)
  • Die....that would be my option. I ate yogurt twice today and had cheese...I eat twice as much dairy as protein easily. Good luck though!
