I don't have kids but I do work several jobs. I think the trick for me when I'm busy is to find a way to work in exercise. If I need to go somewhere (grocery store, work, friend's house) I plan ahead and try to allow time to walk or bike instead of drive (better on the car and gas usage anyway).

Had never thought of oatmeal savory...though I suppose it's like me and cottage cheese. I think it's nasty when people put jam or fruit in it-I only like it with salt and pepper!

WOW PEOPLE! Take your hand, reach for your undies, and get them out of a bunch! Must we hijack a thread about shoes and go into the morals of free fittings? I think that's a smidge ridiculous. Manners on that topic vary. Just like tipping or using a company's restroom without buying something, etc. Rules vary so widely by…

In for suggestions as well.

So far, I've lost a leg and a brain. Some days I really miss that brain....

While I agree that it's annoying, I don't agree that it should be a legal issue.

I have had weight loss success twice in my life-with weight watchers, and with calorie counting (here on MFP and on my own). While I count the vegetables, it depends on how strict you want to be. If 10 or 20 calories over your daily goal drives you batty, log them. If you're not that OCD like me and many others, I would…

I've been back and forth on my opinion of weighing food. It's definitely not sustainable if you plan to do it for your entire life, but for me it's a tool to get me somewhere and then by the time I reach my goal, I think I will be able to better judge calories and portions BECAUSE of my use of the scale (and cups and…

I have 3 heads of cabbage, will have to try some of these ideas

might just have to make this tonight...I have some cabbage and rice that needs to be used up...

A friend that never used her bread machine gave it to me-I love it! Our staple bread now is a rye bread without caraway plus sunflower seeds. I also love that it makes dough like pizza dough. Sadly it doesn't stand up to bagel dough despite having a recipe for it. All the recipes I have for bread are from the manual that…

Good job :) I've found that tracking when over-indulging has done 3 things for me: 1-Reminds me how my taste buds have changed-that calorific burger from BK or the beloved raspberry filled powdered donuts that I sometimes still crave just didn't taste worth the calories I see. 2-I may surprise myself. I went way overboard…

It has been hard at times to feel as successful when I see a friend posting on FB that she's losing 3 lbs/week, but I remember that it's MY life and MY lifestyle that I'm working on changing. :D Chin up!

I'm a happy camper with 10-12 hours of sleep. Though I've struggled with depression for years... I'm sure that part of my depression is due to being so tired all the time. My dr ordered some tests...Monday I'm going in and we're doing the whole gambit-diabetes, thyroid, vitamin d, iron-we don't have a lot of $ to throw…

I can't handle this kind of nonsense...I have to save my calories to cleanse with swedish fish, sour patch kids, and the like...

I work from home....sometimes I won't even leave my little apartment for 2 or 3 days at a time...yep, I've got a problem here ;) My boss has a treadmill desk at the office, I am jealous! (Though frankly I don't know that I'm coordinated enough to be able to handle that...)

WOW! Congrats!

Probably going to say what everyone else said...didn't read them all ;) But I do this: 1) weigh the whole batch and then enter my recipe per gram i.e. I bake my own bread so if my loaf comes out 600 grams, it's 600 servings. When I cut off a 50 gram slice, it's 50 servings. 2)guess...I suppose that pot/pan makes 12…

I don't have a "go-to" recipe, I usually go with what I've got in the freezer or have fresh that needs to be used up. Last summer we froze a bunch of fresh blackberries and plums we were given. 2 tips I have: over-ripe bananas-they'll sweeten it up so you don't need to add any sugar, and throw in a healthy handful of…

Great job!

I'm feeling more like salads now that it's looking and feeling more like spring. Fresh Express has a 30 day "Salad Swap" with recipes on the site and they have a challenge/reward program right now that for every 2 salads you buy (in a 30 day timeframe), you get a $1 off 2 salads coupon, and if you buy 15 or more in that 30…

Thanks for the giggles

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I think I really do need to remember it's 1 day at a time! Just because I've only stayed under calories...what...1 time this week, doesn't mean that I can't the rest of the week. I know I need to learn better coping skills...so far, so good today. Of course, I've only had breakfast and I…

I went for my first bike ride on Saturday, it lifted my spirits so much! I love seeing the birds and squirrels out too! Definitely helps with depression and motivation, particularly for me, because I'd much rather walk/jog outside and ride my bike and hike etc than feel like a hamster at the gym!

I still can't find information on the sprint tri I'm supposed to be doing...not knowing and planning out exact details gets me nervous! I had to stop swimming the last couple weeks due to neck/head pains. But I took my bike on a 4.25 mile ride yesterday-first one of (pre) spring and it felt great!!! Do they usually try to…

My dr ordered some labs for me-checking for Vitamin D, iron deficiencies as well as other things. I'd like direction myself with always being tired.

That pop probably helped a lot! I know it's silly, but even when I didn't care about what I was eating, I still always got diet drinks...you know...that large fries and drink with that...but make it a diet. Because technically it was saving on some calories...

hmm, I have a lot of flaxseeds and meal that I'm not using. love me some crepes, will have to try. Would never imagine doing it in the microwave though....I'll stick to a pan :)
